I bought the house I have now sold through Charters four years ago, It was owing to the excellent service I received from Nony at that time that I decided to sell through Charters this year.
In order to have measurements taken for carpets and blinds, I needed 'out of hours' access to the house prior to my purchase and before exchange had even taken place. Nony met me on a dark, dank night in February and waited with me for an hour so that the measurements could be taken. I was so impressed - and grateful - and judge this to be apt evidence of Nony's willingness to maintain exemplary standards with a true personal touch.

TrustpilotExtremely poor service throughout the tenancy
Moved into the flat to find it a state, the works agreed to had not been carried out and the flat was barely habitable. The management team were exceptionally slow at organising the remediation work and I had to regularly call, hassle and show up at the office in order to get anything done. This took over a month to achieve and caused a great deal of stress. Upon leaving, they have attempted to charge me an extra day of rent since I did not return the keys on a Sunday, a day that they are closed and have no facilities to drop keys off.

I am very sorry to hear of your experience I am aware that you are in touch with our Director of Property Management who has looked into these issues. As they have explained the deposit deductions are proposed by the Landlord and we act as the middle party between yourselves as the tenants and the Landlord. The deductions have been explained to the Landlord and they have confirmed the full deposit release which has been sent to you already and due to clear your account shortly. Similar to the deposit release the instructions for maintenance are sought from the Landlord, as Charters do not legally own the property, we cannot override the Landlords instructions if they do not want to proceed with works. I do appreciate how frustrating this is when you are moving into a property, however we can assure you that this matter is taken seriously.

This has been a long difficult and traumatic process. Leanne Conyers was always professional courteous and incredilbly helpful on each occasion I had dealings with her. leanne went above and beyond the call of duty giving me her mobile, texting me back when there were queries regarding the sale that arose in office hours but when Leanne was actually out of the office that particular week!!
My solicitor found her very helpful to work with.
Leanne was full of useful advice and was an excellent anchor/point of reference for all the parties involved with the sale of both properties.

Well done Leanne! When the chain reached a difficult hurdle I felt that Leanne really empathised with my situation and remained supportive and calm throughout. It was a situation that was completely beyond my control and I know she was able to keep the chain together. I'm extremely relieved to have got through a very stressful time and a huge upheaval when at times it looked very tricky.
Leanne was always personable and I really felt she was listening to me and not just engaging in estate agent style platitudes. She was always easy to reach on the telephone and always returned calls if requested.
This is my first experience of Charters and my impression is that it is a well oiled machine! I am also impressed by the initial process of finding the right property for me. Leanne was the lead contact in our selling relationship with Charters. The whole experience from start to finish was professional, urgent, informed and caring. I would recommend anyone selling their property on their patch to use them. Even when the inevitable bumps in the road occurred with buyers, their experience and skills got us all through smoothly and with diligence. We really felt that Charters and Leanne in particular understood great customer service, better than any organisation I have ever used. Leanne was brilliant. We actually sold our property through a certain purple coloured online agent (Leanne acted for the house we bought) and the full sale process was so much easier for having a 'proper' agent involved. After the sale of our property, we had to rely heavily on Leanne to keep the whole chain moving, particularly as we had a very tight (7 weeks) deadline to complete (and after we accepted the offer on our home, our agent left us to it - which we understood they would do but a little stupidly did not comprehend what this actually meant for the added stress in the process) . Leanne pushed everyone hard (but politely) to make the 7 weeks a reality and we happily did, in for Christmas. Personally, I found her cheerful approach very refreshing! Would we use Charters now if we sold, yes (but most likely only if Leanne was still there)!!

We have purchased two houses and sold one with Nony now and if I had to choose one word to describe her it would have to be tenacious. She is utterly committed to getting the job done, it is very refreshing to find someone so enthusiastic about their work. I would choose Charters hands-down over any of the agents in town (and we have experienced a few with failed purchases etc). They are organised, personable and very accessible.

Leanne was brilliant the whole way my first house purchase. We had a very difficult and slow chain that she continuously pestered on mine and the seller's request. I was kept updated all the time and felt that she really had my best interests at heart the entire time. I am a conveyancer so know the process well but Leanne chased not only my seller's solicitors but also the top of the chain's solicitors who were not helpful in the slightest and made the process up to exchange very difficult.. In my job I deal with estate agents a lot and do not always have the highest opinion of them but Leanne and Charters as a whole really impressed me and I would happily recommend and work with them in the future!
