Exceptional negotiation - and patience!

Throughout a complicated negotiation, Nony maintained a professional, good humoured and patient attitude which was very reassuring. One felt always that the situation was under control and that the selling process was progressing smoothly - even though at times it certainly hit a rocky path. Nony skilfully guided the process forward for both myself as the seller and for the buyers to a timely and very satisfactory conclusion. It was always a pleasure to speak to her and she gave the impression that ours was the only negotiation in which she was interested. No small problem was insignificant for her and all dealings were dealt with extremely efficiently. What an asset for Charters!

A genuinely positive experience

Nothing demonstrates the abilities of Charters, and Nony in particular, than to highlight that our house was sold in just one week. Throughout the process, Nony was in daily contact, guiding us through the decisions which had to be made and offering advice where she was able. Nony was never too busy to have a chat if we had any questions and it always felt that she had our best interests at heart. During our (albeit brief) search, we dealt with several different agents and every one we interacted further cemented our feeling that we made the right decision to go with Charters. Sheer hard work separates Charters from the competition

As property developers we work with many different agents around the South to sell houses for us. At the £1m plus mark we have worked with the big 5 national/international agents regularly, but have rarely come across a more dedicated team than those at Charters and in particular Nony Kerr-Smiley. I say dedicated in the sense of total focus on finding not just a buyer for our recent property, but the right buyer - the only way that can be done is through pure graft, putting in the hours (very often after-hours and Sundays in Nony's case) on the phone and viewing the property with potential buyers. This has not often been our experience with other agents who can very often rely on their name/reputation and website to generate viewings and who so often lack the skill demonstrated by the Charters team of listening to the buyer's needs and thus getting the right person to the property and then having the depth of knowledge of the house and the local market and competition to be able to deal with questions or indeed concerns. Nony has been outstanding in this regard, but there is strength in depth at Charters and I would be confident that any member of the team would be able to show the same levels of skill, knowledge and the necessary determination to secure a buyer for any future property that we bring to market in their increasing large sphere of influence in the South and South East. Thank you Nony, Elliot, Rob and the rest of the team for your considerable and noticeable hard work.

Top Notch Service

From beginning to successful end I've found Charters to be have delivered wonderful service at every stage. They were swift to value my property. The price was higher than I expected but they achieved it so as you can imagine I'm highly delighted. Viewings were efficiently organised. They marketed my property well and I had a huge number of viewings and ultimately 3 offers. Throughout the legal process Jo kept me informed of progress on a weekly basis which had a reassuring effect and kept the angst at bay. My daughter is selling at the moment but using a different agent in the town, so far without luck so I'm urging her to use Charters.

Suitably impressed

We were initially rather stunned by the first impressions and pace of Nony, this has settled and evolved into nothing more than respect for a fantastic estate agent. She is also an interesting character with a great background that has benefited a range of transferable skills to her trade. Nony, a professional, very enthusiastic, breath of fresh air in the world of Estate Agencies

With our dream house on the Isle of Wight in mind, we turned to Charters for their advice and marketing skills, well recognised in Winchester, to help us achieve our sale. Oliver did an excellent job valuing our property for sale realistically and convincingly talking my husband through to a price we could work with in order to achieve a swift but well priced sale. Charters have so far lived up to their reputation, swinging into action professionally to produce fabulous photos, accurate floor plans and a glossy brochure. We almost asked ourselves why we were moving. Nony has been amazing, quickly sending us a relevant selection of prospective purchasers and then negotiating with the family who's offer we have accepted. Her telephone manner is great, so cheerful whatever the time of day or information she's imparting. Her 'wheeling and dealing' have been a real bonus as she helped both sides towards an outcome that pleased everyone. Thank you Nony, you work incredibly long hours, always seem to be in the office and obviously love your job. Charters Excellent Service.

My initial confidence in instructing Charters has not been misplaced as they have achieved all I set to do with the sale of my house in Winchester. I come across a lot of property transactions as a Chartered Surveyor, who carry out mortgage valuations for a number of lenders; so when it came to selling my own house, I knew who would best serve me. Jo Goddard has been an excellent progress chaser in what has been a difficult and protracted transaction mainly due to the picky-ness of the Solicitors involved in this chain of transactions. The real value of using Charters is the personal service, as provided by both Jo and Noni; is the follow-up and progress chasing once a buyer has made an offer to purchase. Warm, friendly and efficient service, great value for money

Jo and her colleagues were very efficient - advising on the asking price and finding us a buyer within just a few weeks. We were overseas for most of the time, but this did not prevent Charters from staying in touch by phone and e-mail, keeping us posted on the latest developments and chasing the solicitor when necessary.. We particularly appreciate Jo's warm and friendly personality, which made our contacts so pleasant. Thank you! Tremendous patience and empathy during a very difficult and drawn out transaction

Good morning. My Wife and I are in the process of selling our current home. Recently our home was viewed on a Sunday morning. In the afternoon of the same day my Wife and I were in Winchester hoping Charters would be open. Thankfully they were. We were greeted by a lovely smiling young lady who introduced herself as Ellie. Charters have dealt with the sale of our property and although, it has been a difficult sale, have kept us informed all along the way. Empathetic, knowledgeable, kind, considerate and very professional.

I lost my husband in March and the thought of selling my house was so daunting. I had danced around with the idea a few weeks before. When I finally made the decision to go ahead and sell all the staff I had contact with were wonderful. I needed one person to guide me through and Nony was that person. Simply Amazing at everything.... what an asset Nony is to Charters

I have to say that I have never ever come across anyone as determined, professional and tenacious as Nony. We had an extremely difficult sale on our hands and at one point was almost non-proceedable. Nony managed to rescue the situation and never gave up. Negotiations had got a lot tougher post Brexit but Nony managed to successfully argue our case and got us more or less the Guide Price. Her negotiating skills are the best I have ever come across and I have been a business man in the city for the past 20 years! She has been a real pleasure to deal with and I have fully enjoyed her sense of humour. I would very highly recommend Nony - she is a very rare diamond.

Dedicated and professional

I bought the house I have now sold through Charters four years ago, It was owing to the excellent service I received from Nony at that time that I decided to sell through Charters this year. In order to have measurements taken for carpets and blinds, I needed 'out of hours' access to the house prior to my purchase and before exchange had even taken place. Nony met me on a dark, dank night in February and waited with me for an hour so that the measurements could be taken. Excellent selling experience with Leanne Conyer at Charters

Leanne was the lead contact in our selling relationship with Charters. The whole experience from start to finish was professional, urgent, informed and caring. I would recommend anyone selling their property on their patch to use them. Even when the inevitable bumps in the road occurred with buyers, their experience and skills got us all through smoothly and with diligence. Always going the extra mile

Nony has worked incredibly hard as part of the Charters team to sell our house.
