GoogleThis has single-handedly been the worst experience I have ever had at a student accommodation, so terrible in fact that I had to end my lease early in the middle of the year and move. Living here really negatively impacted my time in Glasgow and caused me a lot of stress and anxiety. During the seven months I spent here there was a mouse infestation that effected the entire building and lasted for months, this was not dealt with in a timely or professional manner by the staff, we had to get the council involved after being told this was not an emergency issue over Christmas break. There was also a fly problem on my floor, at one point I had more than 20 or 30 flies in my studio apartment, this was incredibly unpleasant and again was never dealt with by staff as this problem reoccurred many times. The building is not clean or well looked after, there is often unpleasant smells and trash left about. The washing machines are also not well maintained and they often malfunctioned resulting in having to run the same load multiple times. There was a real issue with people smoking cigarettes and weed which would stink up our studios. Then there is the never ending fire alarms that go off and keep ringing until the fire brigade come to check the building and turn them off, once 4 in one week including late at night and very early in the morning. There is no reception despite what is written on their website, it is a complete lie. The studio itself was not well equipped, it had no trash can, bedside table or coat hooks, I had to buy the furniture from ikea myself. Staff is often unresponsive and not professional. I truly could not recommend this place less.

GoogleSingle handedly the worst accommodation ever. The staff are friendly, however, no amount of friendliness could ever make up for the horror show of this accommodation. Yes, you get a studio with your own bathroom and kitchen area, however, you will sacrifice big time in other areas. Prepare to go DAYS without water - not being able to shower, flush your toilet or drink clean water. If you are lucky, it will only last a few days! Not only that, but be prepared to be short changed on your deposit. There is barely ever anyone at reception. The front door is regularly left open and the police needed to be called because there was a dangerous drunkard wondering around the accommodation. The walls are paper thin so you have no privacy and can hear EVERYTHING that happens around you. The location is great though... I will give Central House that. I, personally, did not suffer from a mice infestation but prepare to see dead rats in the common areas. The ceiling in the common areas are broken and leaking. There is damp everywhere. The building affects the social environment - no one communicates with one another. If you are a student looking for a social, vibrant and hygienic environment - this is not the place.

GoogleAccommodation is very nice and cosy and its good for students as 2 people can share one studio in pocket friendly price with all bills included in it but their management needs to improve. Specially about fire Alarms and lift issues.

GoogleIf I could give it lower I would. The constant fire alarms, the smell of weed, the stealing of parcels. When I moved out, they tried to make me pay for "damages" that either were already there or didn't even exist. Luckily I had pictures etc, so the external body ruled in my favour. Also, my mum got a letter from council tax saying we owe them, but I'm sure that will all be sorted. This place is literally a nightmare. On the plus side, at least my law degree is coming in handy.

GoogleI’ve been in Xenia since August 2023 and I have loved it. The staff are so lovely and attentive with every issue I have ever had being sorted straight away. The location it’s self is so ideal with everything you need ok your door step

GoogleNo hot shower in 2 months; parcels never delivered due to poor system of collection; I once forgot my key in the apartment and it took them 11 hours for them to open for me (I asked at 11 a.m. on a Thursday); holes in the wall and one old radiator for a whole room that is constantly freezing; avoid at all cost!

GoogleSadly lots to complain about: No hot water currently, heater has worked a total of one time in the past 5 months, constant fire alarms which has been detrimental to my anxiety, although thankfully this has calmed down, not relevant to Xenia lettings (to do with urban evolution) however they have me the wrong post key when I moved, and my keycard didn’t work after a month and they took around two weeks to actually get back to me on it- so if you choose here, go with Xenia and not urban evolution! The room I moved into was a state, with a grimey micro-oven that I have refused to use as it’s just a bit grim, a gap in one of the windows seal and dirt on all surfaces, this includes drawers, the extractor fan (which was covered in grease) . The shower I moved into was clogged with hair before I moved in and there was a dark stain on the mattress. There were also a lot of scratches, marks and stains on the walls and bathroom floor. Side note but the sink is quite small- but this is just due to the fact it’s a studio room. Also the bathroom has self closing taps which is a bit weird but understandable. Also.. silverfish!! On the positive side, the location is great despite the uphill climb to the centre and the current road closures due to construction, and is very close to the tram stop and bus stops which I find great. Lots of plug sockets and more or less soundproof windows. I wasn’t initially going to write a review on the issues with the building, but the lack of hot water is a big problem that I’m not sure why it hasn’t been dealt with yet. In summary, if you choose to go here, go with Xenia lettings and not any other landlord as I’m sure their tenants are happier than I am with urban evolution.
