After a shockingly poor experience with another Estate Agent, I decided to contact Michael and give the Robinsons Team a try. We used Robinsons to conduct a Level 2 survey of a house we wanted to buy. The survey came back with no issues (other than a side door to the garage needed replacing). We bought the house on the strength of the survey.Two and a half years later the roof collapsed on an extension to the house. The Survey did not pick up any of the issues with the DIY roof, e.g. joists held together with flimsy metal brackets, no joists connected to walls, use of decking to build the roof, etc. We contacted Robinsons and they found excuses to get themselves out of any liability. Almost £15k to fix the roof. I'd never, ever recommend a 'John Wayne' business to anyone.

Thank you for taking the time to provide a review. However, your comments are seriously defamatory, and are strongly refuted. Our Survey team have many years of experience, are members of a professional organisation (RICS) and provide a very professional service. The survey was undertaken in September 2021. The house had been extended and significantly altered. The areas of roof which proved to be defective were inaccessible and could therefore not be inspected. This is quite normal for a Level 2 inspection. You were made aware of this in the report (which you signed to say you understood and accepted) and this was again flagged in the report. Also in the report, it stated that you should ask your legal advisers to check that all necessary permissions had been obtained. Apparently Building Regulations had not been obtained for some of the roof alterations. The report stated that you should show a copy of the report to your legal advisers. We can only assume this did not happen, or your legal advisers failed to investigate and advise on the matters in question adequately.Following your complaint to our survey office, a full and factual response was supplied.Best RegardsRobinsons

Sorry Colin you felt the need to bring this to Google. As I understand the “Major Problem” in the property I believe was caused somewhat by yourself, nevertheless, the owner had emergency cover via Direct Line and its was them that you were in direct contact with, we simply alerted them to the situation and put you in contact and assisted wherever possible to minimise any inconvenience. In this case we agreed with the owner that you would receive a full return of your deposit and were in further discussion to try for a small contribution by way of compensation for any inconvenience with return of one months full rent, but following your conduct I believe our hands are probably now tied. I believe your review to be a little harsh but also understand that you too have the opportunity to discuss your unhappiness, rather you gave us the opportunity to resolve than display this on Google.
