In the top five most stressful life events, moving house closely follows bereavement and divorce in third position. Lillingtons however made our move as stress-free as possible, helping us at every stage in both selling and buying property and smoothing the way as we ‘right-sized’ in retirement to a new home. All the staff at the Cockermouth office were great. Aidan Lillington even interrupted his Caribbean holiday to get us on our way at the start of the process of selling and buying! When he returned from holiday, Aidan did a superb marketing job, securing a proceed-able sale, at the asking price, within one week on the open market. As we also bought our new home via Lillingtons, this eased the process considerably. Sharon, Stephanie, Katie and Liz at the Cockermouth office were consistently helpful and reliable in response to any request we made and Aidan was always on hand if we needed his expertise. We are delighted with the service we received from Lillingtons. Julie worked extremely hard to secure our sale, often answering emails late at night as the buyer was from abroad. Without her hard work and perseverance I doubt the sale would have happened.

I recently bought a house from Lillingtons. Julie and the team were great, nothing was too much trouble and they helped me with literally everything I bothered them with. I would always receive an answer on the same day and this makes a change especially after dealing with other local estate agents. Julie and Kylie went above and beyond to make the selling process as least stressful as possible and I would highly recommend. We used Lillingtons to sell our property because of the many promises about service, communication, etc made by Aidan Lillington. They fell short in every area and we moved to another agent after 4 months. They were dishonourable and grasping. Our buyer was initially introduced by Lillingtons and if they had not agreed to split the fee with our new agent we would have preferred to have lost the sale rather than proceeding with Lillingtons. At the very end Lillingtons claimed more of the fee than had been agreed and our new agent lost out.

On behalf of Lillingtons, I do thank you for leaving your feedback. I am sorry to see you feeling this way & publically stating that we let you down in every area when we know this to be different, I would like to point out that although you have said that you chose Lillingtons because of promises made by myself, it was our valuer, who you met to gain your marketing advice when deciding to use us. You only met me at a later stage. While you worked with us our team went to a great deal of effort to achieve a sale for you including implementing a number of additional marketing products at our own cost and extra 'after hours' photographic visits from myself in order to continually improve your visual marketing. As you say, we were ultimately successful in introducing your buyer although you were then on the market with another agent. I am afraid that despite our efforts to be open and transparent with you about how our industry treats buyer introductions, you elected to be guided by your second agent who by rights should have immediately ceased any dealings with the offerer and referred you back to us as the introducing agent for your buyer. If they had done as they should, your experience would have been much simpler and more positive. In a final effort to be fair, we agreed to split our commission with the other agent and offer them an amount to progress the sale for you which they agreed to, however on exchange of contracts they attempted to invoice for more than the agreed split, something the legal representative can confirm. We can understand you being frustrated by the situation and are genuinely sorry that you feel like this, however in this instance we feel the good work our team does on a daily basis, and which is seen here on rateragent has been obscured by the unprofessional actions of the second agent.

Recently sold a house through Lillingtons and, from the outset, we found them efficient, very friendly (all staff we spoke to or met), professional and kept both us and the buyers fully informed in what was a fairly complicated transaction. I recently bought a house in Whitehaven through Lillingtons. As I live in France, most of the dealings with this estate agent were by email or phone. The service that they gave me was excellent. The staff were courteous and very helpful which made the whole process easy and enjoyable. The various questions that I had about the property were answered swiftly and comprehensively. There's a very good team in the Whitehaven office. I would have no hesitation in recommending them to friends and relatives.

All staff at lillingtons went above and beyond there role in helping to sell our property, any problems we had they were first on the phone to the solicitors finding out what the problem was and then they got straight back in touch with our selves we were never left wondering if they would phone back I highly recommend them to anybody looking to sell there property

FacebookDealt with the most rude and obnoxious woman on the phone to ask for a viewing and when she showed us round the house didn't introduce herself or give any eye contact or information. Made us feel she was superior to us. I'd never use or deal with this company ever again.
