GoogleHaving not had much success with a previous estate agent. I decided after a few months to try again so I chose JW Wood Estate Agents in Durham. From the start the service was very professional but also very friendly. The staff are great and also very knowledgeable, I would have no hesitation in recommending this company to others to use. GoogleWe have been very satisfied with the way in which JW Wood at Bishop Auckland have handled the sale of our house. Martin took time to prepare the details of the property and to discuss the valuation, and the house was put on the market efficiently, once we were ready. Barbara also visited our house so that she could liaise with us and potential buyers. She was enthusiastic about handling the sale. We had a steady stream of viewers, and their feedback was reported to us promptly. It was not long before we had a firm offer, close to the asking price, and we trust that the sale is progressing to a conclusion.

GoogleI used JW Wood on a house sale. They gave me an honest appraisal of the property and value, and some good pointers on how to present it. I dealt with various members of staff, Gary, Ella and Luci and they were good at keeping me up to date with progress. If I had one slight frustration its that if you call the office it seems to always go to a voicemail - but emails are always answered promptly as an alternative.

New sale postings were sent regularly and viewings were quickly setup. During frequent visits to the office, she helped clear up any concerns we were experiencing. I applied for a letted property I specifically stated on the online form that I couldn’t attend on Friday for viewing before 12:30pm due to work. 5 days prior to the viewing I received an appointment to attend at 10:30….I phoned a few hours later to rearrange an appointment they stated 1pm and I agreed. I received an email a few hours later to say the colleague couldn’t make so they will push it back to 2pm instead. Okay no problem. The next day I received another email stated their colleague couldn’t make it for 2pm so they would push it back to 3pm. The day of my appointment arrives I knock on the door nobody is there so I phoned the office to be told my appointment was 2:30!! I never received any correspondence stating that time! Eventually Megan turned up. She was professional and friendly and apologetic, but their organisation is a joke I will think twice before applying for JW Wood.
Thank you for taking the time to share this, and we're sorry for the frustration you experienced. You're right that this fell well below the standard we expect. This property received a very high number of viewing requests, and in trying to accommodate everyone we rearranged several appointments, including yours, at short notice. That's on us to manage properly and communicate clearly, and in your case we didn't do either. The final mix-up over your appointment time, and the lack of correspondence confirming it, should never have happened. We're glad Megan was able to help on the day, and we'll be sure to pass on your kind words about her. We're reviewing how we handle high-volume viewing periods so this doesn't happen again. If you'd like to discuss this further, please do get in touch with us directly, we'd welcome the chance to put things right.
