Dear Mr Shah,
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We believe your review was promoted after a property you were attempting to buy was, unfortunately, purchased by another buyer. We were instructed to market the property and, as part of our legal duty to our client, we referred all offers to their executors.
We understand your frustration that you were unable to purchase the property, but unfortunately the matter was beyond our control. We are satisfied that in all respects we performed our duty to both yourself and our client in an efficient, professional and approachable manner.
If we can be of any further assistance in this matter or in the future please don't hesitate to call our Fulwood branch on 01772 787666. Kind regards Laura@FarrellHeyworth

GoogleI have never encountered service as relaxed as that offered by the Lettings division of Farrell Hayworth (FH). I rarely leave reviews online but was so disappointed by the time FH took dealing with my tenancy application that I wish to warn others who may need an application dealt with quickly: I paid an £150 fee for a reference check on the 15th August, and only now just signed a tenancy agreement to begin the 9th November (nearly 3 months). It took 2 weeks for FH to even send me the application form. Over the course of the tenancy application I had to call them on average 2-3 times a week for updates. They were very polite on the phone (would love to share a pint with Stuart), but they lack any sense of urgency and rarely call back on request (perhaps a fifth of my calls were returned). Please note that their agency fee is non-refundable.

Dear Mr Merivale,
Thanks for getting in touch with your concerns. We are keen to hear all feedback from our clients and actively consider it when planning changes to our customer service policy.
All applications are dealt with by our lettings department as expediently as possible. Occasionally applications take longer than expected due to delays regarding third parties which are beyond our control.
Communication with our clients is very important to us. Our lettings team are constantly working hard behind the scenes to ensure all matters are dealt with as quickly as possible and are in contact with clients as and when they have information to share.
Our lettings team at Preston would be more than happy to discuss your concerns further. Please feel free to contact them on 01772 888012.
Kind regards,
Laura@FarrellHeyworth

GoogleHad appointment to view a property. Agent did not turn up. Contacted agent, they said I could no longer view the property as a financially qualified offer was made. Not accepted by the vendor as vendor was out of country, offer was simply made.
Katrina Chinn can be VERY rude on the phone and needs to work on her telephone manner.
I'm quick to give credit when its due. For me to leave a negative review, you really have to push my buttons. This is exactly what they have done.

GoogleBeyond useless, communication nil, I appointed them to manage a property I have on the rental market, in a buoyant rental market it took them from end of August to May to find me a tenant, I have complained to Head Office at Lancaster and got nowhere, their excuse for the property not letting was "the area" as I am ninety miles away I have been at their mercy; they are outstanding at baiting and playing for time with possible tenants, not sure I understand their excuse of "the area" as a much smaller house next door to mine came up and it was let by a different agent within two weeks and it was for the same rent. Dreadful at communication, I have posted keys, cheques and sent emails NONE of which have EVER been acknowledged. Anything they can get wrong they get wrong and anything they can get right they still get wrong. Incapable of following through any arrangement they make and far too ignorant to even bother with phone calls. One star rating is one two many. They didn't even read the water meter before the tenant moved in.

Hi Miss Butler,
We're sorry you have been unhappy with the service you received from our lettings team but we are very pleased your property is now tenanted. We feel it is our responsibility to ensure our landlords are satisfied that they have found the right tenant for their property, not just the first tenant and we've been working with you to ensure this is the case. Our branch manager, John Holloway, is available to discuss your current tenant or any further matters at your convenience.
Kind regards,
Laura @Farrell Heyworth

We're sorry that you were unhappy with the service you received from our Fulwood branch. After further investigation of this matter it is our understanding that prior to your viewing date, we received an offer on the property. The offer was financially qualified, and submitted to the solicitor who is overseeing the sale in the vendors absence (they live overseas) At this point the solicitor accepted the offer, and agreed to the clients request to cancel future viewings as a condition of the offer.
The branch staff then went on to cancel all of the viewings on the property going forward. We can understand that this must have caused some disappointment however the staff were simply following the instructions of the acting solicitor who was acting on his client’s behalf.
Customer service is the number one priority for all branches, all feedback helps us to inform our future planning and customer service training. Unfortunately our Fulwood branch manager Simon Long is currently on annual leave, however I will ask him to call you to discuss this matter further on his return.

GoogleI haven't been able to fault Farrell and heyworth or their mortgage advisor Dan but I wanted to warn any customers purchasing to avoid DC Law at all costs.
Use a solicitor of your choice do not use DC you will be very disappointed with the poor service and communication.

GoogleWe sold our property at the end of last year with Farrell Heyworth Lancaster. We were really impressed with the company when they came to value our house and they continued to give us a great service right through the our sale.
Bonnie and Angela and all the other staff in Lancaster branch were so friendly and helpful, especially when our original buyer dropped out. The team worked so hard to find us a new buyer so that we didn't lose our dream house.
We also used their mortgage adviser who was very knowledgeable and helpful. Thank you very much, we'll be back in 10 years!

GoogleI used Farrell Heyworth to view a property in Bolton - I Wanted to take on the lease after the viewing was told the fee could only be taken in person at the office after she spoke to somebody there..... - I then called this morning to notify them i will come in in person to pay the fee as i was informed this is the only way this can be done to hold the property viewed!!! I spoke to Paul he agreed thats fine and to head over - Once I arrived in Bolton they notified me the property was just taken (VIA payment over the phone after i tried to do this previously and was informed i had to come in person...??) .... Obviously very annoyed as i drove from my office in the centre of Manchester to the centre of Bolton after notifying Paul i was coming in person to pay the Admin fee……I managed to lease one of the other apartments from a much more professional and competent competitor of theres in Bolton who happened to have a similar apartment int he same building - Greenwood James agency handled the lease within an hour - i dodged a bullet not having to deal with Farrell Heyworth in the long run ….

GoogleHad endless problems with these as our letting agents, far too many to list in one review. When I finally was able to move out of the property I was lied to repeatedly by Paul, whose laziness resulted in me getting my deposit back late. Sam was, however, brilliant. She went above and beyond to try and help us during our nightmare experience. Avoid avoid avoid!

GoogleI agreed with LW at the Chorley branch for the cash purchase of a property in the Chorley area. Within 7 days of the agreement, I had transferred funds to my solicitor for completion on the Friday. As I had not heard from my solicitor by noon on the Friday I phoned LW at Farrell Heyworth, to be told that someone had placed a higher bid that day.
She didn't even have the decency to phone me & give me the opportunity to re-bid.
Disgraceful, unprofessional are 2 words that spring to mind. I have in the last 10 months bought 3 similar properties all for cash.... I will never use Farrell Heyworth ever again.
Completley dishonorable, in my opinion

Dear Sir,
Your review has just been brought to my attention despite having been left some time ago. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, we do take reviews very seriously and endeavour to respond to as many as possible. Despite the fact that this review was left some time ago I have endeavoured to find out more details and to pass your comments on to our training department. The member of staff referred to in your review is no longer an employee of the company and I can assure you that in a similar situation a courtesy call would be made to yourself to inform you of any changes to your transaction. We do hope that you will reconsider your opinion and that you may choose to purchase further properties with ourselves.

GoogleSELLERS BEWARE
nearly lost my house purchase , farrells found me a buyer for the property i was selling who already had a mortgage lined up, and then promptly talked them into seeing their mortgage advisor who talked them into getting a different mortgage through them, this put weeks and weeks onto the chain and my new purchase nearly fell through because of this.
so sellers beware farrells do this with everyone who needs a mortgage to buy your property which is nearly everyone.
damn greedy for commision on everything, and couldnt lie straight in bed
never again

GoogleIn retrospect, we should have run the time the pushy letting agent rang up my housemate before we moved in, demanding details she'd provided already and telling her it would be her fault if we didn't get the house. Once he was satisfied and had finished making her cry, it turned out he didn't need the details anyway and the landlord took a month to get back to us anyway. If we weren't desperate by that point, we'd have legged it and it probably would have saved us time, money and avoided health problems.
We noticed mould in the living room when moving in. We were told they'd have it fixed in a week. The mould and damp quickly proved to not be an isolated incident; in the space of a year most of the house was affected by it. Despite reminding them about it numerous times a month and copying the council into emails about it, the most they did about it was have someone come around once, paint over the front and rip down some wallpaper. He said he'd be back the next week. We never saw him again. This mould made one of the tenants ill and he only recovered once we were well away from the place.
They later lied to us about the landlord's intentions, claiming that he wanted to sell it on to an investor and that we could keep living there. Unsurprisingly, one look at the unfixed damp and growing mould and the families who were looking at it to live in ran away. Eventually, they gave us two month's notice to move. Unfortunately, the quality of communication with Farrell Heyworth is so poor that when we all moved out they forgot to send someone to get the keys at the time they appointed and, about a week after moving, we got a phone call asking if someone could come in that day to look at the house. For all we cared, they could have burned the place - though God knows how they'd dry it out sufficiently for it to catch on fire.
Farrell Heyworth, at least, didn't invent extra charges left, right and centre like some letting agents do. I'm sure they did a good job of protecting the interests of the absentee landlord, too, but at the expense of our health and wellbeing.
