ALEXANDRE CHAPALAIN I approached Cluttons earlier in the year to help me with purchasing a flat. I was immediately impressed by how helpful everyone was and by the number of suitable properties I was pro-actively shown which were in line with my very specific criteria. Through no fault of Cluttons, problems began to emerge shortly after my offer was accepted thanks to the erratic demands of the vendor. It is fair and accurate to say without Alexandre Chapalain at Cluttons this sale would have fallen through at every hurdle, of which there were many. Alex was patient, consummately professional and often charming throughout, despite an array of eccentric and unreasonable conditions thrown our way. His communication was frequent, clear and exceptional; his pursuit of slothful conveyancers tactful yet remorseless. He scythed through the Gordian knot of real estate red tape like Alexander the Great. Thanks to his peerless dedication and dogged determination the sale eventually went through. Cluttons seems to have an issue with returning deposits. More than five weeks after moving out they have yet to return mine, and are not responding to e-mails or returning calls. A friend of mine had the exact same experience and had to open a dispute with the deposit protection service to get his deposit back. Do not trust Google Maps reviews - on Trustpilot they have a 1.9/5 star rating with a flurry of similar stories. I will not be renting through them again. Update: I tried sending an e-mail to the address they provided below, but there is no response. I still didn't get my deposit back.

From the outset they did a great job, both in being sensible and proactive in marketing the property and also during the sales process itself. Alex Chaplain especially, and with George Barker, went beyond what estate agents typically do. I knew the moment we spoke on the phone that she would be my agent for how ever long it took to find the perfect unit. It didn’t take long.
