GoogleRecently purchased my first house via this estate agent. On the whole, not a positive experience and I wouldn't recommend them. Communication was very unprofessional (winking faces in emails that are delivering bad news - really rubs salt in the wounds) and very low effort (copy & pasting responses from the seller and not using initiative to probe for the right answers to our questions, led to a LOT of unnecessary back and forth). Also not forthcoming with any additional information that we hadn't had to ask for multiple times - so much so that we considered pulling out due to losing trust multiple times. Towards the end of the process it also came to light that the person we were dealing with had committed to the sale going through by a date that hadn't been discussed with us. When we finally reached completion day, we were delivered nothing more than a quick email with the code to the key safe, which we were to collect ourselves. I'm aware that not all estate agents necessarily give a moving in gift, but to not even have someone leave a card or come to deliver the keys in person, it really made the moment feel quite underwhelming. Having some sort of gesture/touch/effort put in at the end of the experience would go a long way. It also meant that we didn't once meet the agent we were dealing with in person.

GoogleMy partner and I had a frustrating experience with Alex Neil in our first home purchase. Our agent, Matteo, was unprofessional, sending emails with winking emojis even when relaying disappointing information from the seller. This felt dismissive, as though he didn’t care that the news was exactly what we didn’t want to hear. Communication was poor throughout, we had to chase for updates, and answers to our questions were frequently vague, as if he didn’t want to bother pressing the seller for clarity. At one point, it seemed he had committed us to an exchange date without our knowledge, as the seller informed us they’d been assured we would exchange by a certain date we hadn’t even discussed. On move-in day, we were simply emailed the lockbox code for the keys, with no personal touch. There was no effort to make the experience special. We even had to chase them to take down their ‘Sold’ sign after we’d moved in. Overall, it was a disappointing experience, and we wouldn’t recommend Alex Neil.

GoogleEverything has been smooth so far. The purchase hasn't completed yet, but the agents have been incredibly helpful, responsive, and reliable throughout the process. I believe they've been transparent, providing clear information and updates, which I really appreciate. They could be a bit friendlier at times, but generally they've been great. They have made a clear effort not to let anything slip and have been accommodating to my needs. Overall, I’m satisfied with their service and hope they continue to uphold this level of commitment, keeping to their promises and timelines as we move forward.
