Where to start?! As a first time buyer, I was going in blind to my purchase and didn’t have a clue what the process was. Thankfully I had Matteo to oversee the purchase and he was an absolute god send. With a slow set of solicitors, Matteo was fantastic at communicating to all parties and keeping me informed as soon as he had a reply. My partner and I had a frustrating experience with Alex Neil in our first home purchase. Our agent, Matteo, was unprofessional, sending emails with winking emojis even when relaying disappointing information from the seller. This felt dismissive, as though he didn’t care that the news was exactly what we didn’t want to hear. Communication was poor throughout, we had to chase for updates, and answers to our questions were frequently vague, as if he didn’t want to bother pressing the seller for clarity. At one point, it seemed he had committed us to an exchange date without our knowledge, as the seller informed us they’d been assured we would exchange by a certain date we hadn’t even discussed. On move-in day, we were simply emailed the lockbox code for the keys, with no personal touch. There was no effort to make the experience special. We even had to chase them to take down their ‘Sold’ sign after we’d moved in. Overall, it was a disappointing experience, and we wouldn’t recommend Alex Neil.

Everything has been smooth so far. The purchase hasn't completed yet, but the agents have been incredibly helpful, responsive, and reliable throughout the process. I believe they've been transparent, providing clear information and updates, which I really appreciate. They could be a bit friendlier at times, but generally they've been great. They have made a clear effort not to let anything slip and have been accommodating to my needs. Amazing service received from the Rotherhithe office in the process of a purchasing flat in Sydenham! Dealt with Matteo, Andrew and Gary and all have provided excellent customer service; taken time to answer my queries, enabled ease of booking viewings etc. Matteo has managed the process excellently, making it smooth and made me feel in touch every step of the way. Andrew has massively helped in organisation of key steps leading up to the offer being placed and Gary has been an excellent, knowledgeable and patient (very patient!) agent on the number (!) of viewings I have booked since my offer was accepted. An overall seamless and friendly service! They have made the process of purchasing (which is incredibly stressful) as easy as it can be! Nothing has been too much bother. Thank you so much. My thoughts are so sincere that I I will simply share my email send to them a few days ago, at the end of my fantastic experience with them. I started with them about 30 years ago, renting my property, and after such a long time I sold my property still though Alex Neil.
