I was looking to sell my house and contacted Charters more out of curiosity. I was impressed by the professionalism of the firm and instructed them on a Friday. Two days later Nony got out of bed very early to meet an eager client who was in a hurry. later that day the sale was agreed and it completed seven weeks later. Good thing i called Charters and thank you, Nony!

Jo was a pleasure to deal with after a long and frustrating selling process. She grasped the issues with our sale quickly and helped us to reach exchange of contracts. She communicated really well throughout the process and worked hard to unblock some of the issues with other parties in chain. She was open and honest about things not in her control which we appreciated. Overall we would rate her highly.

Sadly, I didn't find my property through Charters but I have to comment on the regular high quality property newsletters that Nony produced. Always a joy to read - always made me smile (she certainly has a very apt surname) But the point is, this is public relations/advertising at its best.. I know of no other estate agency that takes such trouble to display its wares. When does she ever sleep?

I was introduced by a colleague who had both bought and sold with Nony's help and advice. Her passion for the business combined with a genuine interest in matching people to homes impressed me straight away. However it is the quality of the on-going information, tips and advice which Nony provides that has held my attention. Rented with Charters Park Gate for 1 year in 2023. Before signing the contract all the staff we encountered was polite, helpful and prompt, however, we have been assigned as the property manager Kelly Santos, which was just a nightmare. Had to reach out multiple times to get simple things fixed (The only issues throughout the year being a faulty light switch and microwave). She would literally just straight up ignore us for many weeks, had to call nearly every day of our holiday just for her to acknowledge us. Fast forward to the end our rent and the employee Madeline Armstrong - we left the flat sparkly clean and took pictures of everything before leaving (unlike how we found it, cupboards full to the brim with garbage). Even had the carpets throughout the property professionally cleaned which made it look like new. Was then made to pay a cleaning charge which was not mentioned in the contract whatsoever for ridiculous ‘reasons’(things that had wear&tear signs from before we moved in!!!). I have tried getting in touch again multiple times and been told that she’ll contact me. Mentioned that I would happily pay the fee as long as I see a receipt from the cleaning company to see that’s where my money went. She just left me a voicemail saying that they are not obligated to show me a receipt and left it there. After weeks of hassle I just let it go as they were holding my deposit. Such a nightmare team. Will never rent or buy from Charters again. I am sure this was an isolated case as the rest of the team that we’ve met were 10/10, but it’s good to take in consideration that this might happen to other people as well if you’re unfortunate enough. Not sure if the above 2 still work for Charters as this happened in December 2023.
Thank you for taking the time to speak to our Property Management Director today. We would again just like to apologise that your positive experience was later tarnished. This is certainly not the level of service we strive to deliver. The deposit deductions are requests made by the Landlord and Charters are responsible for the negotiation between the Tenants and the Landlords. We can see that the Landlord did remove their original claim for additional items and reduced the cleaning cost to be the only deduction from your deposit. And this was for the cleaning oversights to be rectified.
