Pleasantly surprised

Estate Agents often have a bad reputation but dealing with Elms Estates is a world away from what one normally expects. From our first meeting with Chris he understood what we were looking for and didn’t waste time showing us properties that were not suitable in terms of location and budget. Once in the property the service we received was again above and beyond what one would normally expect/have to put up with, especially in a market as competitive as Central London. When things broke they were either repaired or replaced. When I changed jobs and got paid a few days later, changing the date we paid our rent was not a problem for Elms; something that could have been a major problem had Rutland not been so accommodating. Having good agents creates good tenants. When something needed fixing Jade and I would discuss it and come up with the best solution that would work for us and not bear unnecessary costs for the Landlord. Repairs were followed up to confirm they had been completed and in just over 2 years I can’t think of an occasion when Elms fell short of their impeccably high standards. Lak was a very fair when we checked out and we were sad to leave the property behind. We have only moved as we have purchased a property out of the area. If you are moving to East London I would thoroughly recommend checking these guys out, you’ll be pleasantly surprised!

I first brought my property 12 years ago from Elms and received such good service that when I decided to rent my property out they were my first choice. I approached 3 other businesses but as expected found the most impressive was Elms. The staff are all helpful, knowledgeable and professional. I have had no problems at all with them and they make the experience of being a landlord an easy one. Understanding of both the landlord and tennant they are a perfect company to use. A superb team.

Elm estates have been absolutely brilliant in helping me with my problematic property for well over a year now. For years I was managing the rental of my property myself (which I was reluctant to do) and eventually it was completely vandalized and left uninhabitable by a vindictive tenant. With the advice and help of Rutland and the team at Elms I was able to get the flat renovated and looking better than ever. Within weeks, Lak was able to find some great, professional tenants and now Elms manage the property entirely for me. I'm no longer stressed out, I receive more rental income than ever before and I've got complete confidence that the property is being looked after. Above all I trust the team at Elms and look forward to hopefully buying another property through them in the future. Highly recommended!

The main strength of this agency is that it is independent, the staff really know the area and their clients very well. They have always afforded me the best personal service. Elms Estate Agents' have been managing the letting and servicing of our flat in Shadwell for nearly three years now. They have provided a very impressive service over this time. Terrible experience with Elms. Sadly, they are not worthy of more than 1 star. No feedback on viewings, slow to respond to emails, or they just don't bother. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. An unprofessional experience from the moment I listed my property until I disinstructed them. In response to Elms comments. I wouldn't call responding to calls or emails 5 days later acceptable. And no one held to to ransom for lettings. You stated that your fee was 10%, which is ludicrous. Every other agent I have asked is between 6-7%, curious as to what makes you worth 10%. I never got feedback from you without me chasing you down, calls, emails, and then those weren't replied to within a business day. The etiquette of a professional is to respond by the close of the business day unless you have your out of office on. Even taking one month to respond to this review says a lot about your efficency. Your incompetencies and lack of professionalism are why you received 1 star, and felt other potential clients should be aware of how you operate rather than wasting their time, as I did. Sometimes, positive criticism makes agents pull up their socks and address their behaviour, and they also take steps to rectify the issues listed above. .Just using the sentence 'held to ransom' shows your lack of decorum as a professional organisation. You give Estate agents a bad reputation tut tut!

Most reviews here are lies or made up. Elms are terrible. Go with them and you’ll find out to your cost. They’re rude, unresponsive and blame tenants for things are aren’t their fault at all. We had the following problems weeks after moving in: Moths in carpet. Lights not working. Floor in poor condition. Extractor fans not working. Heating problems. Damp patches.
