They went above and beyond to secure our dream home. The purchase process was smooth, they managed the upward chain, solicitors and seller not missing a beat to meet a tight completion deadline. Be warned

I recently viewed a house in Reigate through White & Co, Reigate. I really loved the house and requested the advise from the agent as to the best way for me to proceed. I was told to offer full asking price of 850k which I did and I was told that there were no other offers on the table.Within half an hour of leaving the viewing, I was told someone had matched my offer. Therefore, I asked if I should increase my offer and was told no and to wait until the following morning when the vendor would make his decision. I knew that I was in a strong, favourable position to proceed with the purchase of this property immediately, so I had hoped that this would go in my favour. I rang Richard at White & Co first thing the following morning and once again I was advised not to increase my offer. At midday, I received a call from Richard to be advised that the vendor had accepted the other purchasers offer of 850k because the vendor and the purchaser knew one another. Richard then told me that even if I increased my offer by 20-30k the vendor would not proceed with me, despite my increased difference in the accepted offer price. The web of deceit unfolded before my eyes when I received an email from a local conveyancing solicitor, requesting to assist with the purchase of the house. The form the solicitor provided confirmed an accepted offer price of 880k and had all my personal details on it, which were provided by Richard at White & Co. They had accidentally provided the solicitor with my details instead of the other buyer. Not only was this a major GDPR breach but they lied to me about the other sellers offer, didn't give me the chance to represent an increased offer and they were not acting in the best interest on behalf of their seller. I was unable to purchase this property because of their dishonesty and deceit and they embarrassed the local solicitor who were now involved in their underhanded practise.My only advise, if you are a buyer or seller, avoid White & Co.

Five massive sparkly stars to White and Sons, Dorking. They have been a genuine delight from start to finish. They were marketing a property we liked, and from being shown around the property to putting an offer in to exchange and all the fiddly bits in between, they have made it a great experience. A bit like finding a good dentist, these really are people who change your perception of what can often be a stressful experience.A particular thank you to Maddy, who was so efficient whilst being incredibly lovely, but also the whole team at White and Sons in Dorking. White & Sons Dorking are the managing agent for the property I rent. I had a boiler problem for which they had some one come round and fix same day. When the problem re-occurred 10 days later (faulty pump), within an hour of opening they had a plumber round to replace the faulty pump having already sought the landlord's approval to replace it. It was fantastic service and meant I was not shivering without heating for long. Nikki is great to deal with, always professional, and very prompt with any query.

Not always had good experiences with Estate Agents, but Horley branch of White and Sons restored our faith somewhat. We had bought a house to break a chain with a plan to sell quickly.
