I recently bought a house through Oaks estate and found them to be very helpful and professional. They were responsive when I contacted them or asked questions, were always ready with information on the property, or were happy to contact the owner for me to find out. After being in the same house for more than 20 years, I was naturally wary about moving. As MD, James was across the sale at all times while I was in the day to day care of his brilliant team. I felt assured of a successful sale and once achieved, they moved mountains helping me at the last minute in the face of circumstantial delays caused by outside factors. I can’t recommend them more. While we were in the process of moving in to our rented property, that was listed by this branch they seemed to be very professional and helpful with the process. Until, we moved in, and just a week later, we found that the property had a lot of issues such as: none of the windows closed properly, there was mould, damp, the roof needed to be replaced and insulated etc. Because this property wasn’t managed by Oaks they couldn't do anything apart from contacting my landlord. We then realised the landlord wasn’t going to be doing any repairs any time soon, so we decided (1 month later) that we had to move again once we found a suitable property, as this house was a health hazard. So I called this branch to help me find a new property urgently, but their response was none even after the Christmas holidays. And this is where I think they lacked professionalism, I was asking for help as I was going through a difficult situation, but they didn’t offer me any help. Surely they would feel morally bound to help, especially because they had rented me a property with lots of issues. I guess it’s just business...NegativeResponsiveness, Professionalism

Hi Vanda, We had marketed the property previously, without any issues whatsoever and put you in touch with the landlord who agreed to cease the tenancy agreement. I think judging from your review and what you told me personally, you’re more annoyed that we didn’t help you find a new property. As discussed, forgetting the fact we were closed for Christmas, we didn't have any suitable properties that matched your requirements or your budget sadly. When this is the case, there's really only so much that we can do! Whilst I feel that we went over and beyond our obligation and that the above is harsh on us, I respect your opinion that you’re absolutely entitled to and wish you well nonetheless. My partner and I purchased our first property late last year through Oaks and it was as streamlined and stress-free as we could have hoped for. We'd previously been messed around by another estate agent with a different property which marred the house buying process for us, along with damaging our trust in estate agents and how honest they were. After finding our current property through Oaks, we found them to be a breath of fresh air - transparent, efficient, responsive and friendly! They were always at the end of an email or phone call and coordinated well between ourselves and the vendor. We dealt with both James, the MD, who was very on the ball and helpful, but more so with Ciaran who helped us every step of the way, from arranging the initial viewing, right through to completion of sale! Right from the start, with James coming to meet with us initially to discuss selling our property, through to completion, Oaks were so professional to deal with. Zoe worked with us through the whole process and was brilliant as were other members of the team that we dealt with. Even our buyer commented on how professional Zoe was when she spoke with her, said Zoe had discussed things with her that her own agents hadn’t mentioned, she was very impressed. We have recently sold our property through Oaks and have had an excellent experience. We primarily dealt with Zoe from the Addiscombe branch who has been fantastic from start to finish. James was also involved in the latter stages and helped get things over the line. Our property was listed and under offer very quickly but Oaks' support did not stop there and guidance was provided at every stage through to completion. Communication was excellent and Zoe kept us fully informed throughout. Unlike other agents we have used in the past, Oaks are very proactive which helps move matters forward and gives peace of mind.
