TrustpilotExtremely Poor Experience - Post-Fire Unfair Treatment
My experience with John Shepherd Lettings in Nottingham have been overwhelmingly negative. After a house fire at the property, they have been nothing but unhelpful. Including allowing us access when no safety procedures were done or confirmation it was safe to enter. They expected us to clear the property out of our own pocket, less than 3 weeks after the fire. This also caused confusion with the forensic investigations due to contamination of the scene, especially given that the property was not secured at one stage after key handover.

The staff at the Burton office, particularly Sam, have been exceptional. Nothing is too much trouble, she always try to resolve any issue with the properties and is proactive in giving support or advice on all things housing. Would absolutely reccommend this company, particulalry if you can deal with Sam at any point!

Been a tenant with John Shepherd for over 7 years with no issues and recently moved into our second property with them, any repairs have always been dealt with promptly and efficiently, and staff always respond quickly and couldn’t be more friendly or helpful. Sam at Burton branch is amazing, extremely trustworthy and genuine and always willing to help as best as she can. Can’t fault anything.

Abhorrent agency. I am currently with them in Nottingham. I was trying to get in touch with them for a month and a half, trying to book an appointment for key collection. They never replied to my emails and only contacted me when my first rent was one day late. I recently moved in and there are just so many problems. Not with the house, but with the way the agency is handling my tenancy. They have given me no bins (waste or recycling), there is garbage in front of the entrance that rats get into, the basement is sealed off because of the rat problem that no one informed me of, and that is just the tip of the iceberg. I went into their office and talked to someone a week ago, and they promised they'll fix it immediately, but nothing has happened yet, and they will not answer emails or phone calls. Please stay away.
