GoogleVery good letting agency, the best we rented through in Cardiff. My wife and I had some trouble getting through to the maintenance team during the peak of the pandemic, but that's not an issue anymore. Dylan from the maintenance team immensely helped us sort the issues in our flat. He was very understanding of our circumstances and helped arrange the appointments and contractors in the most suitable way for us.

GoogleTerrible for tenants We rented a house through the JeffreyRoss Pontcanna branch back in March 2020. The problems began when there were maintenance issues and when we were given notice to move out due to the landlord wishing to sell the house. There was a tap leaking in the back garden which we reported and a plumber was supposed to come and fix it. Not only did the plumber not turn up twice (with no communication), he also turned up unannounced with no notice. When this was brought up with JeffreyRoss we were told in an email that 'in an ideal world' the plumber should have contacted us. They completely ignored the fact that legally you must give 24 hours notice for someone to come to your house. We reported multiple issues that were ignored, such as the garden fence being blown down in a storm. In March 2021 we were given notice to vacate as the landlord wished to sell the house. Despite being tenants with JeffreyRoss and struggling to find an alternative place to rent we were offered no assistance. We would get phone calls multiple times a week asking about viewings. This was difficult for myself and my partner as we were working from home a majority of our time due to the pandemic. It got to the point where I would give a date every two weeks for a large portion of the day to carry out viewings. I had hoped this would ease the issue but I would still get opportunist phone calls asking whether they could do a viewing, even with only a couple of hours notice. Even when we secured a new place and told them our moving out date I still had phone calls up to two days left of moving out asking for viewings. Since then it has been four weeks with no contact since moving out. Both myself and my partner have phoned trying to see whether the paperwork for the bond to be returned has been completed and despite reassurances that we would be contacted back we have heard nothing. Overall communication and quality of service has been very poor despite branding themselves as a 'high quality'. Would not recommend.NegativeResponsiveness, Quality, Professionalism

My partner and I are buying our first home from Jeffrey Ross and Jodie has done all she can to provide us with excellent customer service. I feel she deserves recognition where it's due!

GoogleNot even moved into the house yet, and we've been messed around non-stop. Emails being ignored and phone calls to try and move around appointments. Now they wish to push back our key-collection due to inventory issues from one person but cleaning from another. We were told that cleaning was being done the day before, and now it's on our moving in day. In addition, they wish to paint and re-carpet around us. Generally a god-awful experience, and I'd highly recommend going with any other agency. I'm certainly not looking forward to the tenancy ahead. Edit: Just had a phone call from the agency asking to change the review. I feel I am entitled to my opinions and that I shall change the review should I feel it necessary. After this phone call, I am less inclined to and will not be intimidated into thinking otherwise. Edit 2: In response to the reply below, there are a few things I wish to clarify. Firstly, we asked if it was possible to move in early, as due to the current situation we did not want to travel across the country as there is a global pandemic happening. We were told we couldn't move in early, and that was fine, you heard nothing more about it from us. Secondly, I will admit the key collection time change was less disruptive as I may have made it out to be, being moved from 10am to 11am. However, the cleaners had not even arrived at the property by the time we were moving in, and they arrived at 1:30, and had been informed to only clean the kitchen. The rest of the house was a complete mess, with dead insects littering the front room, clothes and items from the previous tenants still scattered about the house. This is not the cleaners' fault; they were not even informed that we were moving in and were under the pretence that we were moving out, but still they quickly cleaned the front room. The whole upstairs was left uncleaned, as was most of the front room. To say that the key collection was delayed so the cleaners could finish was a falsehood. The agency knew this, as we were told initially that the cleaning would be done by "late morning", and then at key collection this was amended to "today or tomorrow." As for the phone call, I believe the initial review to be adequate reasons for the rating so the call was unnecessary and feels as if it serves simply as an intimidation tactic. Once again, as previously stated, I will amend the review once I am satisfied with the services provided. Until then, this review score shall remain untouched. Edit 3: Over the course of the tenancy, the service improved somewhat, hence the improvement in rating from 1-star. Maintenance issues were logged quickly and often a contractor was booked by the following work day, except for the fire alarms which were due to be replaced in 2017 and they said they would fix, but that aside every other issue has been fixed within roughly three days of reporting it.
Hello Alex, thank you for your review and I am sorry to read its content. In the interest of fairness, I feel it necessary to reply to provide some background on your complaint and issues, raised. You moved into a property with JeffreyRoss on July 1st 2020, the busiest day in the calendar as it is the day that student properties change over after a very small window (of 3 days in this case) for the previous tenants to move out whilst the property is readied for the new tenancy to start. It is a very hectic time for landlords, agents and tenants who are all pulling in the same direction to ensure move-outs, maintenance, cleaning and new inventories are carried out in time for the new tenancy to start. Indeed, your group were fully aware of this tight timescale after requesting to move into this property EARLIER than planned as had to be out of your previous property on June 28th. For this reason, I feel your review is unfair. Whilst I appreciate moving the key collection time as an inconvenience, we merely moved it from 11am to 1pm, on the same day, whilst the cleaner was able to finish the clean. We would have been in a position to offer the keys to you on the original agreed time however this would have meant you moving into a dirty property - something I'm sure you can appreciate is in your interest? We are an honest agency who are simply trying to ensure the best possible experience for any tenant who moves into one of our properties so to receive a 1* review for such an episode is upsetting. It was myself who called you, not for you to change but for me to understand the reasons behind the review. I hope that following your tenancy with JeffreyRoss that you change your opinion and we look forward to working alongside you all to ensure a pleasant tenancy experience for you and your housemates. GoogleOur Estate Agent Ryan was very welcoming and informative which helped with the move. We agreed terms and paid the retainer on the house before even viewing, solely going off the videos and pictures provided online. This for me made me feel quite anxious about the move as I’m much more of a ‘touch, feel and see’ kinda guy when it comes to purchasing products and services but Ryan’s knowledge of the property details, past tenants and landlord made these worries soon fade away.
