Since we hired Horton and Garton to let our first flat in Hammersmith, we have continued using them for the sale and letting of two flats. John, Martin, Ara and the rest of the H&G team have been a refreshing experience in dealing with estate agents. From the time we met John the first time he came about as a nice, straightforward and friendly chap and neighbour of Hammersmith. We could later rly the same sentiments to the rest of team at H&G. H&G strong local knowledge of the market, their professional approach - far from the pushy attitude of other estate agents - and the trust that they transmit will make them very successful. I had dealings with the lettings department. We were looking for a house to rent in the W6 area. From beginning to end I found them totally unprofessional. The woman who showed us around a house had very little knowledge of the house, couldn’t communicate and it felt like we were taking up her time. We wanted to make an offer and talk about it, but she had to rush off to another viewing. We put a offer in on the property after the weekend and had to contact them constantly to find out what was going on - and then we found out we had lost out to a mystery offer we weren’t told about. I can’t comment on the sales dept, but if you deal with the female “lettings agent“ we did, I wish you much luck. Do yourself a favour and save yourself unnecessary hassle, stay away.

Horton and Garton were agents for the property I bought in King Street, Hammersmith. The agent that I worked with (Michael) was straightforward and courteous with no "hard sell". This made working with him much more easy than it had been with some other agents. He was always on hand to explain where we were, generally with pro-active phone calls - and if I had my own question to ask, I found him to either answer straight away, or if he was on a viewing etc, get back to me within a couple of hours. Excellent service and made what very easily could have been a hugely stressful process, as calm as it could be. One time, when Michael was on leave, the boss of the firm, John, stepped in to deal with my issue and had a comprehensive reply back to me in incredibly short time. I can thoroughly recommend Horton and Garton.

I have rarely encountered the level of service provided by Horton & Garton while I was selling my property in Hammersmith. There was always a responsive, pleasant voice at the end of the phone, unfailing punctuality for viewings and scrupulous feedback. Every effort was made to present the house as attractively and professionally as possible but without the unwelcome "oversell" which potential buyers instinctively mistrust. As a locally based agent, keen to preserve its local identity and reputation, it cannot afford to allow its standards to drop or be tainted by the practices associated with some of the larger chains of estate agents. Horton & Garton has certainly transformed my perception of estate agents and I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone considering putting a property on the market.

We have just successfully exchanged contracts on a house in W12 and have been very impressed by the service and help we've received from Horton & Garton. The house was rented out for 12 months before the sale with H&G as the managing agents. Despite very demanding tenants, everyone in the H&G office was always courteous, friendly and efficient and made the rental of the property much easier for me. Germain Gulevic, in particular, should be singled out for his prompt responses and kind manner. Ashley Clements was also unfailingly polite and eager to facilitate the situation. The sale was also not altogether straightforward but John Horton and Martin Clements did all that they could to straighten out the problems, often emailing me late in the day and ringing to make sure things were clear. Despite some scepticism about estate agents in general, I can honestly say that I would recommend H&G because dealing with them has been a straightforward and even enjoyable experience. Finally, I have to say that I realized H&G were prepared to go beyond the call of duty when John Horton met me at the house 5 minutes after I'd called to say I was having problems with the lock. He not only unlocked the door, he also helped me move 60 boxes that were stored in the attic and then gave me a free H&G umbrella. That's service!

I thought once you had signed up with an estate agent they just sat back and waited for an offer to come in. Not these guys! From the very first meeting and until after completion, I received sound guidance and advice encompassing asking price, showing the property to its best advantage and what to accept. And not only that, once an offer had been accepted, they kept the buyer informed and patient and keen to complete whilst I went through a protracted 5 month conveyancing process with my purchase! I really don't think the big chain estate agents would have given this level of service. Well done Horton & Garton : you are the B E S T !!!

We were searching for 1 bed flat in W6 and we had become despondent with all other local companies who had little time for us and our limited budget and told us we couldn’t afford to stay in this area.
