GoogleThey are very inflexible with their criteria. They have lost me an almost perfect apartment because they don't understand the local property market. They have a policy of not financing you if the building has a business attached. In my case the apartment I wanted was at the opposite end to the business and would have had no impact on the apartment. It was in an excellent location and would sell well in the future. Their concern was that it might not sell in the future but it certainly would.

As a business, we have criteria in place to ensure that all properties purchased meet the requirements as a Home for Life. The property standards we follow are similar to mortgage lending criteria for the best interests of our customers. Unfortunately, in this case, the property did not meet our criteria as it was attached to a commercial property. Homewise do not purchase properties that may be unsuitable or may impact the long-term wellbeing of our customers and, whilst we do consider the future saleability of any property we purchase, we are committed to finding the right home so that customers can be happy and secure for their lifetime. Being attached to a commercial property, for example, can impact property insurance costs and carry greater risk of fire, robbery, and disturbance with antisocial business hours. GoogleHome wise are very helpful, and Rhonda has been very good, but reducing our home is not the problem as quoted from our PROPERTY AGENT. I know RHONDA is doing her best but I told her over and over again its the situation out there, we are very down at present and want to move especially as there are 2 bungalows we are interested in but every one is in the same boat just hope agent moving photos around might help. We so want tom move.

Let me start by saying I did not complete my transaction with Homewise and I am not a customer. I rang the Homewise team and I am assuming Mr. B from Homewise has given me the right advise. I asked a simple question as to what happens to the investment I make when I get to the end of my lifetime lease. In a year from now or even 25 I would like some share of the money I have paid to Homewise to be returned to my loved ones. He said if you do not opt to safeguard the future value of your home then your loved ones will receive nothing.

With the Home for Life Plan, you make a single upfront payment to live in your chosen home rent-free, mortgage-free and without interest repayments for life, there are no ongoing payments to Homewise. Choosing a 0% safeguard gives you the maximum saving on the property price today, while safeguarding up to 50% means paying more initially but ensuring a guaranteed inheritance for your estate in the future. Some people prefer to free up more money now to enjoy retirement or gift an early inheritance, while others like the peace of mind that comes from safeguarding funds for their loved ones. Every Plan is bespoke, so it’s always tailored around each person’s unique wishes and needs. We completely understand that a Home for Life Plan won’t be the right option for everyone but, for those we do help, it can be truly life-changing, and we’re proud of the difference it makes. Rude,Unhelpful, It is because of staff like this that give estate agents the reputation of the most hated people to do business with, I feel sorry for the people whose property they are selling because they are no good at dealing with purchasers, I would never even consider dealing with these people again and strongly advise anyone else to so the same as there are hundreds of estate agents to chose from.

Everything went wrong i bought a lifetime lease from home wise about 5 years ago and I not happy with the property at there so many faults with the house which some of jobs I had pay for my self as I am 75 years of and finding it very had to do and I will not reckonmeding to anybody as homewise should not be trading 😞 😞 😢

Homewise explained how they work in conjunction with the lifetime lease. What the advantages and disadvantages are. I am very happy to have financial freedom as I am currently renting £1200 per month. Just to know in a few months I only have bills to pay this is the best decision I could have made and the property I am in the process of purchasing is my dream property.

GoogleThe process of getting a lifetime lease has been amazing. The information has been clear and concise from day one and carried on throughout each stage. I have had a real feeling that homewise really want to make sure that both the property you are buying and the lifetime lease are the right fit for you and are very thorough. Our dealings initially with Gary and then later with Rhonda our account manager have been very professional and also very easy. They take the strain of liaising with all parties in the chain so that you don't have to. Lastly, the flexibility of this product is also amazing. We discovered that we can take the lease with us to a new property should we need to move and not pay any penalties other than the normal moving costs. Highly recommended

I would never buy a house again from this estate agent ! From complete lies in the process to even finding out from the seller the same poor experience! It has been shambolic… it has been on occasions intrusive …a key point is use Darlington branch but the sale is supervised by Durham .. staff quoted “we aren’t trusted” Best of luck to sellers and buyers mine took 7 months and felt I need to placate to ensure it was successful … very stressful indeed !
