GoogleA fabulous service and fabulous staff . Homewise is an excellent way of buying property that is desirable yet with your own money cannot be reached . Homewise will make up the difference in the price making it easy for you to own the property ( but that is subject to their terms ). Read the Homewise process into house purchasing, you'll be amazed

GoogleWE FELT AT HOME WITH RHONDA
We approached Homewise with a view to moving nearer to the coast, knowing we'd need to top up the value of our current home to afford a coastal property for our retirement. The Homewise solution offered that top-up option, whilst deferring the need for repayments until after we'd passed.
We were impressed with the professional approach and thoroughness of both the Homewise representatives who handled our initial enquiries.
As we went deeper into the process, we were assigned our own account manager - the equally professional but also delightful Rhonda. We jokingly referenced the old Beach Boys hit "Help Me Rhonda" but our account manager did indeed turn out to be extremely helpful, guiding us through the system with ease and good humour. You might say that we got Good Vibrations...
Our Homewise journey ended soon after this stage, only because we realised that even their maximum top-up wouldn't be enough to achieve our dream.
We would stay in our current home and make the very best of it.
When we informed Rhonda of our decision, she showed great empathy and there was not even a hint of pushing us to reconsider.
Should we ever need to go down the same path again, we would definitely be asking Rhonda to handle the process for us.

GoogleWe wanted to move closer to our son and daughter-in-law, we have lived in the same house for 41 years and at 74 and 82 this was a huge decision to make. Houses are more expensive in the area they live and with our savings depleted we wanted to see how we could raise some equity from our house . Having researched Homewise and the benefits of a lifetime mortgage we felt this could be an option to explore.
Firstly we visited the Homewise offices in Worthing and met with Sam the Customer Account Manager , from the outset he made us feel at ease and clearly explained how Homewise could help us achieve our house move. From there on Sam has been so supportive and been available at the end of the phone when needed. Despite asking so many questions and wanting reassurance on different aspects he made the process seamless.
We have found our house with the offer accepted and with the offer on our house accepted we are progressing to the next stage with the confidence of Sam and his team at Homewise’s support.

GoogleIf you want to lose everything then use this company. My in laws wanted to sell their 4 bed house and buy a bungalow as they had both reached 80 and couldn't manage stairs. Dad was also mums soke carer.
So they contacted homewise and yes, all calls were prompt and agents were lovely. However, they were both led to believe that the bungalow was a leasehold and not a lifetime lease. When I rang homewise to discuss, I was told it was none of my business and they called mum and told her to tell me to stop interfering. I should point out that the solicitor acting was in fact the husband of estate agent!!
Cutting the story short, they were sold a 90 year lease, thinking it was a leasehold property. Who sells 2 80 year people a 90 year lease. This cost them £140,000.
Dad did actually refuse to sign contracts but said he was forced to by estate agent and solicitor. He asked the solicitor to note that he was signing under duress, but that appears to have been ignored.
Dad died last Tuesday after only 2 years in that bungalow. His dying wish was for to sell the house and find mum a good care facility and pay for his funeral.Of course that can't happen as there is no house and no money to pay for care. I did call homewise to discuss but they told me they don't have to talk to me and hung up. Myself and my partner live 200 miles away and we have no idea what to do about mum or how to pay for the funeral.
I had to put this review up to warn families of elderly parents not to fall for this. This is our story and is as factual as I can say without being able to talk to Homewise.

We're sorry to hear about your loss and understand this must be a hard time for your family.
What's described here isn't a circumstance or customer we recognise, and it doesn't reflect the standards we hold ourselves to. We'd like to understand more about the situation, so we can look into this fully for you.
If you can contact us directly with your customer reference and the full address of the Home for Life Plan property (email service@homewise.co.uk or call our office on 0808 291 4523 and press 3 for the Customer Care team), we can identify if you're connected to a Homewise customer and be able to advise further.
To reassure you in the meantime, every Home for Life Plan is shaped entirely around the customer’s wishes. They tell us what they want and choose the home they want to live in. The plan is built to legally protect the customer and, while the customer doesn't own the property itself, they own the legal right to live in their chosen home, rent-free and mortgage-free, for as long as they need.
If one partner passes away, the other remains fully protected to stay in their home, for life. If the customer needs to move into full-time care, they can end their plan, and any percentage of the property's value they chose to set aside is paid to their estate.
Customers are supported from the start, and their independently chosen solicitor must confirm they are fully informed and happy with the terms of their plan.
We’re keen to understand the circumstances to be able to help in any way we can, and hope to hear from you soon.
Best regards,
Danielle

GoogleFrom start to finish I had an amazing experience with Homewise, Simi guides me through the process from start to end, regularly amd catching up with throughout the process, it was like speaking to a supportive friend and I valued her guidance throughout. Karlie then dealt with the sales progression very professionally and made sure that everything ran smoothly. Simi still had catch up calls with me so I felt incredibly comfortable during what can be a stressful time.
Thank you to the team at Homewise, including Gemma who always answered my calls to the office, always being friendly and helpful
I am now in my new home and extremely happy.

Thank you for your review - it's great to hear that Huyen went the extra mile to support you and your clients. However, we are Homewise and are not connected to Huyen in any way.
We are a UK company that helps people aged 60 and over move home through our Homewise "Home for Life Plan" - it sounds like your experience relates to a different business entirely.
We do hope Huyen and their team see your kind feedback on their profile instead.
Best wishes,
Jess

GoogleHaving retired slightly early we found ourselves at the age of 71 in a home we did not want to spend our retirement or indeed the rest of our lives in. We researched several options as our budget was quite limited to move to a better property in a better area. After looking into equity release, shared ownership, putting our life savings to what we could get from the sale of our flat and the Homewise Lease for Life Plan, we quickly discounted the first three options as none of them gave us anywhere near the budget to move. We were constantly drawn to the Homewise plan and made an initital enquiry. We very quickly received a call back and Gary was really helpful in explaining what we could do with the information we gave him. Basically we realised very quickly that we could afford a home far above our means and have some savings kept back for the rest of our retirement. No rent or other charges, just the bills everyone pays as we have done for all of our lives. Then George Brodie our appointed Account Manager contacted us and he is absolutely brilliant. He explained everything in so much detail, answered our many questions and made us feel really confident in him and Homewise. Within a very short time we accepted an offer on our flat and in the same week saw our dream home. The way George and Rhonda handled the whole offering and negotiating business was second to none and after a few days of hoping and worrying and deciding we couldn't be so lucky George called to say that our offer had been accepted and the house is now sold subject to contract and we are in the process of moving. Everything was so professional and we were so confident in Homewise that we are still in a daze that it is actually happening. We will soon be in a home we thought we would never be able to consider just a month ago. We can highly recommend Homewise for over 60's who want to live their best life in retirement.

Thank you for your feedback Annabel, although there may have been a misunderstanding and we'd be happy to chat through any questions to clear things up.
Homewise offers an alternative option where people aged 60+ can pay thousands less than the market price to live in their chosen home, mortgage-free and rent-free, for life.
It's not the same as buying property the traditional way and won't be the right choice for everyone. But we're proud to help people secure their dream homes and peace of mind in retirement. That's been the goal of our family-run business since the 1970s, and our customers rate our support very highly.
Anyone exploring their options should fully understand how the process works before making any decision. Customers are encouraged to involve family if they wish, and must seek independent legal advice before any purchase.
As every plan is unique, we'd recommend chatting to our team to see how it could work for you. It doesn't sound like we've spoken yet, so please give us a call any time if you're 60+ and would like to discuss your options.
Best regards, Jess (on behalf of Homewise)

GoogleThis morning, I have had a 'future planning' telephone conversation with Gary Moores, a Homewise specialist advisor. Although not ready to act yet, I want to share my recommendation:
Gary was helpful, polite and very efficient; he knew all the answers to my Homewise questions, and was able to 'think on his feet' while I shared our situation and wishes for various eventualities.
I am extremely reassured by our conversation and now feel completely relaxed about moving forward (at 79, with my husband of 85) into a future where our old age presents possibilities within which Homewise will be able to help, whatever the variations may be.
Thank you Gary, and thank you Homewise.
Angela.
Now, 7 months later I have been working with Homewise again, and I have received the same wonderful support from them with my unpredictable changed circumstances.
This time, I have been ready to make an important move for a new life, and because of my previous experience with Homewise I turned to them to help bring it about, knowing they would 'hold my hand'.
Homewise, and I are now towards the conclusion of our process, and I am so delighted with everything they have been doing with me and for me.
Sam Stevens, my designated client account manager (again), has at all times been incredibly efficient and competent, and always prompt in his responses to any questions or needs I have presented to him - and always with a friendly and caring manner.
So, once again, I say a sincere 'thank you' to Homewise for providing me with a tailor-made solution carefully developed and exactly right for me.
Angela.
