TrustpilotHomewise Nightmare
If I could give zero I would.
Selling my home was a nightmare because the buyer used HomeWise to help with funding. Their relaxed attitude is a problem and they are not transparent in communication. They were so slow they lost my purchaser two first-time buyers HomeWise then suggested a we buy any home company. This group wanted the buyer to drop their price by £25,000 pounds. They also asked me to cut my price by £19,000 pounds to make the figures work. I refused and the deal collapsed. I wasted nine months. I will not accept any buyer using HomeWise when I relist my house. They are hopeless you have been warned. To Homewise try talking to your employee Hannah she dealt with the purchase your end. My estate agent was Miller Countrywide.
Im sorry multiple buyers and sellers what are you talking about. There was my buyer who was using yourselves to help fund and you lost them two first time buyers due to your slow processes. I had a vacant property to move into everyone was waiting on you lot. Multiple buyers really. You couldn't get a smaller chain. Face the truth you are slow and hopeless. Your customer hasn't chosen another property they have come off the market as the experience was so traumatic for them. Your just making up stuff. And I spoke with other estate agents in my area and they all said anything to do with Homewise will end badly. And it did. At least my solicitors have some LFE and will advise their clients of this experience if they are unfortunate to be involved with you comedians.

We're sorry the sale didn't work out the way any party hoped.
Chains involving multiple buyers and sellers can be complex. Problems can arise anywhere along the chain, a property issue, a financing problem, or a change in someone's circumstances. When they do, we do everything we can to keep things moving and help our customer stay on track for the home they wanted. Unfortunately, despite our best efforts, it wasn't possible on this occasion.
This isn't the typical experience. We take real pride in the support we offer customers through their moves, particularly with difficult conveyancing. In the current market, chains are taking longer and collapsing more often, often for reasons outside anyone's control.
Our customer has since chosen another home to settle in, and we wish you all the best with your own move too. Feedback matters to us, and we'll always look at how we can do better for everyone involved in a sale.
Best regards,
Danielle

TrustpilotPeace of mind
When you reach your mature years and you are on your own, house buying is a scary minefield.
However, it has been a revelation and positive experience purchasing my next property with Homewise.
Everything is explained with knowledge and patience by the staff member who is assigned to your case. The financial side of the transaction is a transparent exercise and all the options are made clear from the outset.
If anyone finds themselves in a similar situation, I strongly recommend that you contact the company to explore your options. It would be a good use of your time! Helen

Trustpilot"Hom-NOTSO- Wise"
I initially got in touch with "Homewise" on behalf of my mother. Her being a widow and 69, shes needing to downgrade the size of the house as its to much to manage allone. I did some research as usual on Trustpilot and Feefo just to diversify my sources of info. However I trust and use Trust Pilot more. What concerned me was instead of mentioning more about the process adn the fact they are almost similar to a compare the market firm who sell on your data, the website has heavy sections teaching you how to leave google reviews and trust pilot reviews. I now understadn why their rating is so high yet the services are slightly ambiguos. Spoke to lovely sales agent on phone, but again. I find it hard withso much misformation nowadays. They get 2 stars from em as i dont think anyone over 60 would research as much as i have, so in my eyes misleading, and profit motivated more than actaully aiding people like Mummy. Thanks again Trust pilot for keeping your reviews pure! Sorry Homewise, but its Wise for me to use another company :(

Thank you for your feedback. It's always best to research your options and it's great to hear you had a good call with our team.
We pride ourselves on being open and honest in every conversation, and are always happy to answer any questions you may have. The website offers an introduction but, as every Home for Life Plan is tailored to the individual, it's always best to chat through how it can work for you and your mum specifically.
The plan helps people secure a better home for thousands less than the full market price, with no rent, mortgage or interest to pay. This can be a real relief and our customers (who are typically in their 70s) often ask us how they can leave feedback for the help they received. So we have guides to help them navigate the review sites. Every review is genuine and independent, whether left by the customer or their family.
We're a family-run business, not a comparison site, financial lending service or government scheme. We support customers through every step of their move at no cost, and every property is subject to our criteria and approval process.
It won't be right for everyone, but it can be life-changing for those we do help.
If you still have questions, or ever want to explore the Home for Life saving again, we'll be at the end of the phone anytime. We hope your mum finds the perfect home for her needs.
Best regards, Jess (on behalf of Homewise)

George was brilliant and very understanding of my circumstances. Everyone was easy to talk to and there were no surprises!

Your agent Gary Moore is very well informed and was both polite and courteous when dealing with my recent telephone enquiry. He confirmed to me that certain estate agents in my area(including 'Wards') are marketing "Homewise' properties erroneously insofar as them not meeting the minimum 'Homewise' lease requirement of 90 years duration.

Although I have not yet bought a property through Homewise, what I have done is to seek information about the process. Becci has been excellent - patiently answering many questions over lengthy phonecalls. It has made things really clear and if I find a property that fits the bill, I do think Homewise could be a really good option for me.

TrustpilotFantastic to work with, can't recommend Homewise enough
From start to finish I had an amazing experience with Homewise, Simi guides me through the process from start to end, regularly amd catching up with throughout the process, it was like speaking to a supportive friend and I valued her guidance throughout. Karlie then dealt with the sales progression very professionally and made sure that everything ran smoothly. Simi still had catch up calls with me so I felt incredibly comfortable during what can be a stressful time.
Thank you to the team at Homewise, including Gemma who always answered my calls to the office, always being friendly and helpful

One thing I would recommend make sure you have picked your for ever home .
Unless you’re wise enough to have a good percentage invested in the property .
So you can move with out a massive loss
of your money. I did not realise you had to pay not just your own legal fees which l would expect anyway, but you have pay all the investors legal fees as well. 🤷

TrustpilotFinding my happy place.
Both people I have deal with so far (Keira and George) have been extremely helpful and informative, quickly answering my questions and attentive to my needs. Early days in the home finding process but I don't feel pressured in pursuing what will be my final home. Being aged and escaping marital issues, I now feel I have a shot at happiness thanks to Homewise (just wish I'd heard of them a lot, lot sooner).

TrustpilotYou will not see your investment again.
Let me start by saying I did not complete my transaction with Homewise and I am not a customer. I rang the Homewise team and I am assuming Mr. B from Homewise has given me the right advise. I asked a simple question as to what happens to the investment I make when I get to the end of my lifetime lease. In a year from now or even 25 I would like some share of the money I have paid to Homewise to be returned to my loved ones. He said if you do not opt to safeguard the future value of your home then your loved ones will receive nothing.

Thank you for your feedback. The information you were given is correct, though we appreciate it can sometimes feel a little complex, and we’d love to help clear things up.
With the Home for Life Plan, you make a single upfront payment to live in your chosen home rent-free, mortgage-free and without interest repayments for life, there are no ongoing payments to Homewise. Choosing a 0% safeguard gives you the maximum saving on the property price today, while safeguarding up to 50% means paying more initially but ensuring a guaranteed inheritance for your estate in the future.
Some people prefer to free up more money now to enjoy retirement or gift an early inheritance, while others like the peace of mind that comes from safeguarding funds for their loved ones. Every Plan is bespoke, so it’s always tailored around each person’s unique wishes and needs.
We completely understand that a Home for Life Plan won’t be the right option for everyone but, for those we do help, it can be truly life-changing, and we’re proud of the difference it makes. If you’re still exploring your options and would like to talk things through in more detail, please don’t hesitate to get back in touch - our team is always happy to help.
Kind regards,
Jess

TrustpilotRetirement flat…
I am in the process of buying a retirement flat through Homewise. Just a few comments. Having spoken to 3 people in 4 days it has become a bit onerous and repetitive. Having read the comments on this site I think some of the problems described are unjustied. For leaseholders , such as me, you are not the owner, you own the lease for a certain number of years but you do not own the freehold. There are complaints about maintenance of the property. That is the responsibilty of the leaseholder, not the freeholder. When you die the property, whether that is the outstanding lease or the freehold passes to them. That's how they make their money. I don't have any family so it is not a problem for me but it's probably a bad idea if you want to leave things to others after your death. We'll see how it goes and I'll comment further later. I admit that I don't like the false bonhommie, the mateyness. This always makes me a bit suspicious.

Thank you for your feedback although there seems to be a misunderstanding as Homewise does not provide lifetime mortgages and/or financial services. This is reflected throughout our marketing and literature, which is designed to be open and transparent about the service and product we offer.Homewise offers the Home for Life Plan, whereby we purchase a property (subject to criteria) chosen by our customer who in turn purchases a Home for Life Plan to live there for their lifetime at a significant saving against the value of the property. The Plan includes a Lifetime Lease which is registered at Land Registry, providing security and the right to live in the property rent-free and mortgage-free.Please be assured a Home for Life Plan purchase cannot proceed without our customer receiving full legal advice through their own independent solicitor, with that solicitor confirming that the customer has a full understanding of the terms and effect of the Plan and has chosen to proceed with the purchase.Your personal account manager remains available to answer any questions you have at any time. I understand you have been working with her and our colleagues in recent months, discussing viewings on your chosen properties in the hopes of progressing with the purchase of a Home for Life Plan, and wish you the best of luck in finding your new home soon.Best regards, RayeOn behalf of Homewise
