Nicholas Humphries Nottingham are very unresponsive. Told us that we had successfully reserved a house and it turned out that we had not. We were also charged for redecoration of a ceiling when it was just as bad compared to when we moved in. Avoid.

Absolutely appalling experience with Hall and Benson Estate Agents. They allowed me to move into a property that was full of black mould and this was while I was heavily pregnant. No care, no concern for health or safety. It was completely uninhabitable, and they didn’t lift a finger to resolve it properly or even tell me how to retrieve my deposit. I had to chase them constantly even from the hospital just to get basic documentation like my tenancy agreement, which I had to ask for three times before they finally emailed it over. To make matters worse, the landlord agreed to refund my first month’s rent, but Hall and Benson have still not processed it, despite four separate phone calls and promises to sort it. They’ve also been zero help in retrieving my deposit considering I had to call up multiple times from a hospital bed, and their communication throughout has been absolutely disgraceful. Avoid this agency at all costs. Totally unprofessional and dismissive especially shameful considering the serious circumstances. They should not be allowed to manage properties if this is how they treat tenants.

Having to go through the first house purchase can be very complicated and difficult, especially when it comes to find the best mortgage that would be best fit for you financially. I have had a pleasure to deal with Tom Hallam, who made the journey as easy as it goes when it comes to mortgage. Not only we got the best deal for us, he was always on the other end of the phone when we needed something or anything was unclear. Definitely would recommend. This is an edit as I was asked by Hall and Benson to remove this review which I refused to do, even though I was accused of trying to defame the business. This is a true account of our experience. I would not recommend Hall and Benson Heanor. Corey attended to carry out the valuation. He was very positive stating he will have no issues in selling our property. Promised the earth, delivered nothing. The photos and write up we can't fault however, the Communication was non existant unless I contacted them. It felt like, as our house had no interest in the first couple of weeks, in our opinion, it was put to the bottom of the pile and ignored. We had no viewings in the time we were with them. Corey did tell me he possibly had an interested buyer but never followed it up. They also lost my door key but refuted this saying my husband never gave it to them. In a telephone conversation today, again he said we did not give him a door key, but I know we did. We were basically called liars. When I cancelled my contract with them, the person I spoke to said it was very worrying as he had no details and knew nothing of the property. They charge over £3500 for the sale of the property however, Corey stated to me however, he has spent £500 on advertising my property. How is £3500 justified.

I tried to rent a property with this company they quickly took my first weeks rent however I didn’t sign anything! They never asked me too… after many phone calls later and them promising me I’d definitely got the property, they eventually the truth that the landlord had gone with someone else… fair enough but I am still waiting for my first weeks rent back! Declan especially told me to ring their accounts department… 3 phone calls later it turns out I was never made a tenant for the property so they are quick to take your money but can’t be bothered to actually do their job! I will continue to chase and ring and email this company for my money back because £219 is a lot of money. Disgusting behaviour in my eyes. They have forever lost a customer.
