GoogleI listed my property for sale with Hall and Benson and while I didn't end up selling in the end they were incredible from start to finish and I'd thoroughly recommend them. Shannon and the team were extremely helpful, patient and understanding throughout. In today's world of AI chat bots it's genuinely refreshing to have an enthusiastic and supportive human at the other end of the phone whenever you need them. Made all the difference.

GoogleMatthew was great from start to finish. When we had our first mortgage appointment he ran through absolutely everything making sure we did not miss out on anything. Matthew helped us set up numerous insurances making sure all details were correct. Any questions or issues we raised with Matthew, he responded straight away and didn’t leave us waiting. Anything we asked him to do he did without question. Matthew was an integral part of our journey to purchasing our first home and couldn’t do it without him. Matthew always kept in contact asking what different stages we were at with the solicitors and making sure the products we needed in place for move in day were there, he would even work on the weekends to make sure he could provide the best service. I would definitely recommend Matthews services for anyone who is buying a property.

GoogleAwful service. 12 weeks into a sale I had to go and physically sit in the office for almost 2 hours to watch whilst phone calls were made only to find out our buyer offering a "quick cash sale" didn't have the cash. Did nothing to find a credible buyer in 9 months and now refusing a refund following their terrible service.

Absolutely avoid them at all costs, I unfortunately have had to rent with these guys for 2 years running. They have poorly kept houses, slow to/ refuse to respond to maintenance problems (eg poor plumbing leading to human waste on our back patio for months). They then have the cheek to slap you with a huge bill at the end for the smallest of things. If you do rent with them please please take picture evidence of the condition of all appliances and rooms when you first move in and out so they can’t take your money! I had already written this in an email and had been ignored so thought I would take it to google reviews since they don’t seem to care:)

Horrible Experience, been 2 months since tenancy ended still not received any deposit made. House was given to us in an inexplicable condition. We left it in a much better condition. And they still try to take our entire deposit. Particular problem with an incredibly rude employee, Robbie Bell.

Manchester Branch. Horrendous service. My daughter's mental health has been severely affected by the atrocious service of this estate agent. 1) She was unable to move in on the contract date because the property was being repainted. 2) No access to the full set of keys until after 20 days after the contract began. 3) No wifi set up nor connected as detailed in the contract. 4) Fridges were not plugged in on arrival 5) Oven was removed with no warning 6) Multiple rooms have no blinds nor curtains fitted 7) When my daughter called 'Maintenance' they repeatedly hung up (there was no wifi/internet service so communication was near to impossible!) 8) All this frustration and neglect has caused my daughter to have panic attacks and has severely affected her mental wellbeing.

Google3 formal complaints made across our tenancy due to our landlord continually spying on us (they live next door, which we only found out due to multiple unexpected, unlawful visits!) which are aided by continual harassing emails outside of regular inspections about garden weeds. The landlords neurosis's are assisted with persistent emails from this estate agent prior to appropriate inspections. Multiple agents have turned up at our door during our tenancy without the legal 24hrs notice. Would’ve moved and changed agents ASAP if we didn’t live with an elderly, dying individual - who I may add was denied any NHS rails added to the home by agents & landlord (would’ve caused minimal damage and would’ve been reversible). Our property management had changed multiple times without being properly informed following complaints, making them more difficult to appropriately action, seemingly a very intentional choice. About to issue a further complaint before escalation outside of the agency. Rented for years and have never experienced such poor property management and invasion of privacy aided and seemingly encouraged by a letting agent that clearly invades our rights to privacy as tenants.

GoogleWe would highly recommend Tom Hallam to anyone requiring a mortgage. We did not make it easy for him over the last 18 months or so with mortgages for multiple properties and some unforeseen issues that arose along the way. He was always helpful and went above and beyond. Always kept us updated even when it was not always what we wanted to hear. GoogleNo effort, no communication I called H&B on a Saturday afternoon because I was in the area and wanted to view a property which had come on the market a day or two day before. I got their answerphone so I left a message with my details asking them to get back to me to arrange a viewing. Its now 2 weeks later and I still never heard back from them, even though I see the property is still on the market. If I was the seller I'd be spitting blood to know nobody's following up potential viewings. They're obviously not making much effort on behalf of their selling customers.
Hello, I am sorry to hear that you did not receive a call back from us in the office. I have checked the voicemails from the last three weekends and have made sure they have been called back and spoken too or had another voicemail left back to them. We continue to gain better customer service so please do not hesitate to get back in-touch with the office to book a viewing on the property you seen.

GoogleTheir communication with sellers and buyers is appalling. I asked that the manager call me at a specific date and time 24hrs later I am still waiting. They phoned and left 1 message to say someone wanted to view our house, we have tried calling, no surprise, no answer. How are you ever meant to sell your house. I feel they should be paying me not me paying them

We have recently sold our property thanks to the overwhelming professionalism and dedication of the team at Alfreton. Special thanks must go to Chris, the mortgage advisor and all round star. His advice, knowledge and friendliness are above and beyond brilliant. Special thanks also to Katie, Karen, Carly and Lucy... whether we call in to the office or telephone, the welcome is always warm and nothing is ever too much trouble. If you're looking for an estate agent in and around Alfreton, you really won't do better than Hall and Benson.
