I would like to thank everyone at Hall and Benson at the Allestree office. Initially they acted for me renting out my property and then selling the propetty. They have all been friendly and professional. Would definitely recommend.PositiveProfessionalism

Despite the current situation my house purchase completed without any hold ups. Lisa at Hall and Benson was really helpful and kept me up to speed throughout the whole process. Highly recommend πππ β¦

I am an experienced Chartered Surveyor who deals with estate agents on a daily basis and thus I expect to receive high standards of response from them. Initially I appointed another agent in Allestree to market my fatherβs house, but even in a good market they produced no enquiries, that agent has since closed their Allestree office. I then turned to Hall and Benson who allocated Lisa Hunt as my contact. Lisa more than met my high standards of advice and response and with sensible mutual discussions she achieved my objective. I would add that I did not inform Lisa of my profession until the end of the process. Well done and I thoroughly recommend Hall and Benson to you .PositiveResponsiveness, Quality, Professionalism

I would just like to say how pleased I am with all the team at Hall and Benson Allestree, especially Helen, Tim and Lisa for the all the work they did for me. All though it took a little longer than expected due to the terrible times we are in, they all pulled through excellently and completed my home sale perfectly. I must say I feel a little sad not to get calls and updates any more and a chat and a bit of a laugh. Helen and Lisa have been marvellous in cheering me up when I felt down..thanks girls! And a big thank you to Tim for all your help too! Very professional people who are down to earth and very caring to their customers. I would highly recommend them to all, for their hard work under these stressful times. A very satisfied customer. Missing you all. Deborah.

Highly recommend.
Excellent customer service. Found tenants to rent our property, 2 lots actually as we weren't sure about the first prospective tenants. Kept us up to date and informed throughout; all of the staff were knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. I always spoke to a human being, and if they didn't have the answer it wasn't long before I had a call back with the response, and none of this "You need to speak to a different department". I can't think of anything they could have done better. Thank you Matt and all of the team at Burton.

Would've rather slept on the streets
Our entire experience with Nicholas Humphries ruined our 2nd year of university. The house we stayed in was completely uninhabitable, the list of issues was endless. The main issues involved severe damp, mould, lack of sufficient heating, rats, leaking toilet and sleeping on mouldy mattresses, not to mention other continuous issues we encountered the 3 months we stayed there. Surveyor reports even reinforced that the excess damp was from recently completed building work which had not dried out. The landlord and estate agent were so disrespectful throughout the entire process, doing little to help any of the issues or even completely disregarding them. We suffered mentally and physically, all 3 of us experiencing health problems, one even involving hospitalisation in the short time we stayed there. One tenant had severe asthma and could not even stay in the house due to its condition, which was just ignored on multiple occasions. We asked to leave the contract, offering that we would not even seek to gain compensation but that we just could not live there any more. The estate agent and landlord argued against every issue encountered, undermining the serious effect the condition of the house had on all of us tenants. They argued that there was no mould or damp, even after surveyor reports confirmed there was. The estate agent even went in after we had left to turn the heating on in order to get rid of evidence of damp, then claimed we were lying. After months of discussions and delayed responses from Nicholas Humphries, we finally had to pay the months of rent that we were not able to live there just so that we could leave the trauma behind. All in all, no one should have been able to live in that house, let alone experience the rudeness and incompetence of those working for Nicholas Humphries. They are few of the most unpleasant people we have ever had the displeasure of meeting, and should not have been involved in the housing of 4 young girls.

Great service
I was looking for a house for 2 people to rent from 1st July 2021 for my daughter and her friend in their final year of Uni and had an excellent experience with this agent. Gary Head was fantastic throughout, excellent communication, speedy responses and answered all of my questions. I was very sorry that I couldn't take the house in the end, as the other guarantors had been put off by bad reviews. To give you some perspective I am also a landlord and rent property in Edinburgh, so I know what to look for when going to a property agent. The property had all the safety certificates, over and above what is legally required in England, and the recent video of the property showed it to be in great condition with tenants currently in residence.Personally , I would have no qualms and not be put off by the bad reviews as I feel it is important to have the conversations and get a feel of the agency for myself.I get very suspicious when I see multiple bad reviews within the same time frame as this could represent malicious spamming.Renting a property is a serious business in terms of money spent by parents and the investment a landlord makes. The safety and experience of tenants is paramount.I will be looking at property to rent with this agent for the next academic year.

Serious damp and mold in a house where tenants have respiratory conditions. Won't fix or even acknowledge it. No compensation - in fact, they try to over charge tenants! Avoid them!

Inconsiderate to current tenants and home owners.
We originally had a viewing for our property and the agent gave us two days warning prior to this viewing, which was great; but on the allotted time slot on the day that we agreed, they never showed up. I phoned their office and emailed them to see if they still wanted to view the property on that day and they never answered! A day later I got an email from the agent again saying they wanted to show people round the property but could only do it at a certain time. The time they wanted really didn't suit me, as I am a nurse and was working long night shifts at the time. They wanted a late morning appointment to view the property, when I would normally be asleep; but I understand that people can't always be available in the afternoon so I agreed to the time. So after inconveniencing my day and sleeping pattern completely, guess what? they didn't show up Again! I tried again to email them to see if they where coming, in which I had no reply. I then rang the office where I was met by the most incompetent human ever! After explaining why I was calling not once but three times the lady on the phone said she "didn't know, as her computer was not on yet and that she would give me a call back once her computer computer was Warmed up!" Needless to say I never got a call back!So to the company I say "I can appreciate that it is hard to organise house viewings in a pandemic, but please show more consideration to current tenants and home owners at this time."

If I could give it 0 I would
This is by far the worst agency ever. The only thing on their mind is picking up there paycheck at the end of the month. I rent an appartment with two other roommates for a whole year. When I arrived, nothing had been cleaned, it was disgusting. There were stains everywhere, the kitchen hadn't been washed in over 4 months. They were old moldy fruits under the counter, and it was just so so dirty. When we told them, they told us it was up to us to clean it as they did not clean underneath the kitchen. If I could post pictures to show how disgusting it is I would!!There were broken lamps, and all the rooms were covered in dust and dirt. In addition, in one room, there where remaining vomit stains with an unbearable odour. Another room was full of mold.We also did not want them to enter the appartment with visitor during the covid crisis for numerous reason, but they did not care, and said they could sue us if we didn't agree. They are thieves and don't care at all about what they rent you, as long as you pay them. I tried to terminate the contract but cannot as I signed for a whole year. Biggest robbery ever, and they do not care at all.

Broke the contract and took away the house without telling us
Me and my flatmates put a deposit down for a second year house and after getting into contact with them after not hearing from them, they turned around and told us we donβt have the house anymore! Completely broke the contract and let us down in the middle of the term so a warning to anyone thinking of going through these people.

AMAZING! 100%!
I have been working with this estate agency for the past two years andthere was never a problem they couldn't fix. Jack is a very helpful person with an amazing personality! There was several times I called for enquiries or help around the house and he would come as soon as possible.Needless to say I am 100% satisfied with the agency work and will be seeking them for housing next year!

Received a phone call on the day of a viewing to be told that there are 2 people viewing before us and if they put an offer in then our viewing would be cancelled on the spot. I advised we are travelling over an hour to view the property and we cannot justify doing that if there's a chance we may not even get to see it. The agent was rude and didn't accommodate us whatsoever. She advised this is industry standard.. Yet we have viewed 8 properties so far and have not encountered such poor service. Will avoid all properties from this agent going forward as they clearly believe they will get a tenant regardless of service. That ethos will only last while the market is strong, I'm sure it'll come to bite them when the market slows. Thanks for making life even more difficult for public servants during this already hard time!
