I have been using Hackney & Leigh Letting Agents for some time as a Landlord. I would not trust them with a dolls house let alone a real house. They ignore Contracts and do exactly as they please because they can, Landlords have no protection whatsoever. H&L ignored damp in my house and failed to put various things right. They contacted an electrician to fix a toilet, that's how useless they are. They have been requested to pay me compensation by the Ombudsman 2 weeks ago which has not been received. They did not respect my property and seemingly don't respect the PRS either. I hope Karma serves them well.

GoogleI would not recommend Hackney & Leigh under any circumstances. There are significantly better and more professional estate agents available in Kirkby Lonsdale. Hackney & Leigh from start to finish of the whole process simply lacked the necessary professionalism, courtesy and overall customer service you would expect of a well established estate agents. The team at Kirkby Lonsdale constantly failed to keep me informed of the progress of my property sale: especially concerning enquiries from our buyers. They failed to answer direct questions via email & instead answered with the generic catch all of 'we can only apologise'. Under the banner of 'you just couldn't make it up...' - they even failed to inform me the sale had not completed on the agreed date (due to them failing to pass on queries the buyers had asked, which had not been forwarded to me and thus were unanswered). I had to call them the following day to find out what happened. "We can only apologise" (again) was their inadequate response. In summary: I would 100% not recommend - there are better, more professional and more effective estate agents around.

GoogleI work as a Case Manager within a Legal Services company and we used Hackney & Leigh to sell a property on from a deceased persons estate following a recommendation from another happy customer. Leigh, one of the agents specifically was brilliant! Nothing was ever too much. The process was as smooth as it could possibly have been. Everything was arranged including any works needed to be done at the property and it was never a problem. If I had not had Leigh to guide me through the process and advise in situations where needed, it would have been a much harder process as our company is not local to the property. I can not recommend this company enough!!

GoogleAs a family selling a property after a bereavement you need an Estate Agent that will deal with the sale of a property efficiently and swiftly we had many hold ups with our sale.But Leigh at hackney and Leigh kept us informed through the whole process. Due to chain issues it took much longer than expected, but they were with us all the way, Great team Great service! Special thanks to Leigh she was a star !

GoogleIn the past year, I've bought and sold a house with Hackney and Leigh in Arnside. On both occasions, I've had an excellent experience. My main dealings were with Leigh Bedwell in the sales team and I found her to be efficient, communicative and very professional. Buying and selling houses is rarely stress-free but Hackney and Leigh made the process as smooth as it could be.

GoogleCan't rate Leigh at Hackney and Leigh highly enough. She has been terrific. Mum gets easily confused and was daunted at the prospect of selling the family home to move into a smaller more manageable flat. But Leigh listened to her needs and was very friendly and helpful with whatever queries we had. She has guided us through the whole process and has given that personal touch that is so lacking in many organisations these days. Would be happy to recommend her as estate agent to anybody.

GoogleWe have been looking for our permanent home in the Lakes since 2019 and registered with Hackney & Leigh in the early days of our quest. Of all the many agents in Cumbria we have had dealings with (there are many !), the H & L Windermere team have without doubt been the most helpful, friendly, reliable and consistent in communicating both the market, and the ins & outs of buying our 'forever' home. When we finally were on our way with an accepted offer, the team were always available to assist on phone or email, always gave a response to querys and were excellent and transparent at handling the sometimes protracted dialogue between ourselves and the vendors. Also going the extra mile to help us with following up snags and, even after we had moved in but were away, helping to notify us when snow damaged some trees on our property. To the Windermere team, particularly Sonia, Nicole and Charlie, with whom we exchanged many messages, thank you very much, we really appreciate it.
