But had a bad experience with the landlord who manages this property and now is holding our deposit as they feel after being up at the property for six years they wouldn’t have to invest anything further for maintenance before they let it out again so they will use our deposit to cover the cost.

Daniel and Samantha have been instrumental in securing our apartment. Daniel was kind enough to do a video viewing for us as we were not able attend ourselves. Our desired move in date was within two weeks of the viewing and both Daniel and Samantha have done everything to make sure everything was done in the tight time frame. Had a really tough time with City Docklands, initially took about two weeks of calling to get any response as I was looking to have a change of tenant on my agreement. Overall the entire process was drawn out as it was almost impossible to get in touch with staff when trying to move along with the process of moving out which made it all the more stressful. After I complained to about three different people who all seemed to have different ideas about who was actually dealing with my contract I finally got some help. The new tenant was sent the wrong contract initially which did not include the correct rent prices and was then bullied into signing a new one which as you can imagine caused a lot of commotion and confusion from every end. Overall I would not recommend if you do go through this agency just be aware that you may have to stomp your feet around in order to get heard.

Leasing with City Docklands is not without its challenges. Especially in the beginning when we were assigned a non-experienced agent to show us properties that did not even know how to access the properties. We had a number of issues at move in, but it took a much better turn when we were assigned Michelle Gambier as our Property Manager - she is very kind and proactive. We discussed our concerns with Michelle who adequately addressed them and as a consequence we decided to renew our lease. We look forward to a much easier tenancy in the next year(s) and a trouble-less check out when time comes. If it was possible to give separate ratings, I'd give City Docklands 3 stars and Michelle 5 stars, so rounding it to 4 stars.

During the initial stages (prior to renting the flat), I did feel pressured and rushed to make a decision right after the first viewing, but I believe that's just how it works in the industry. However, once handed over to Benjamin Wood everything has been great and City Docklands have great too. Nicole and her team did an excellent job on helping me find an apartment, especially given that I was based abroad and we had to do the viewings via video calls. Nicole quickly understood what kind of place I was looking for - location, style, fixtures- and managed to find a wonderful apartment! Daniel, John and the rest of the team at City Docklands have been so helpful. I've never been a landlord before and they have made the whole thing incredibly easy. They found me lovely tenants for my flat within a day of advertising it. All communication with them has been very professional. Would recommend! Since letting the flat Michelle has also been incredibly helpful. As a first time landlord i was not sure of many of the procedures.
