GoogleI found the whole experience lacking in every respect - very poor communication - on one occasion travelled some 450 miles to discuss in person the sale of the property only to be kept standing in reception to discuss for probably no more than five minutes if that - Three months agency resulted in one viewing - Very quick to charge cancellation fee even before expiry of Agency Agreement - need I say more!
We are very sorry that the marketing of your property resulted in just one viewer in 3 months this is well below our usual client experience

Thank you so much to the team at Donald Ross, Ayr for making my house sale so easy. My house sold within 9 days, for far more than HR price. Every single member of the team worked with such professionalism. Will gave me their quote while Maureen and Elliot showed my house to viewers. A wonderful photographer, who really cared about making my house look its best, took beautiful photos. Helen Hunter then chose the pics she thought were best and even swapped one for me that I wasn't quite sure of. Naomi did her job with expertise beyond her years and I could not be more grateful. This team is friendly, kind, never pushy, always professional and available for any questions at any time, even weekends. I hope to be buying my next house with Donald Ross, Ayr. I'd never choose to go with any other real estate agency after this wonderful experience. Who said selling your house is stressful? Not with the Ayr Team at Donald Ross it isn't. Our first meeting with Will was an amazing experience, he put at at ease with his honest and practical advice on how to go about the process of moving home. We signed up with him straight away and are so glad we made this decision. Our house went on the market on Thursday and eight days later it was sold. The whole team at Donald Ross work together to sell your home but Will and Maureen were exceptional and cant thank them enough. They kept us updated and advised us on a daily basis on our progress. We would highly recommend Donald Ross to anyone buying or selling their home.

GoogleI had a 2 year lease of a property in Danbury via bond. 8 weeks after notifying them of my intention to end the tenancy and 2 weeks after vacating I am still awaiting my deposit back. I sensed this would be an issue before moving out and spoke to Steve who absolutely assured me that fair wear and tear would be exactly that - the kind of items you might expect to occur over the course of two years. The landlords only costs in those 2 years were to replace the condemned dishwasher and a leaking tap. Yet now bond are working in favour of the landlord to ensure I don’t get my full deposit back, citing things like a hand mark on the ceiling in the lounge, “dust” (I had been out of the property for 2 weeks prior to the inventory inspection) and furniture marks in the carpet (yes after 2 years sofas leave footmarks!). They present a good professional game but ultimately these people are no different to the average estate agency / Lettings agency - looking to rip off tenants, refusing to be reasonable, failing to show any kind of human instinct, instead hiding behind the small print. I got one email from Steve saying “I will not discuss this matter” despite it being a perfectly reasonable request for discussion. We did discuss in the end but unfortunately for me he adopted full on charm mode and duped me into thinking maybe they won’t actually try and fleece me for my deposit. But now they have. I’m still waiting to hear from them. Attached are pictures of the house in the mint condition I left it. Carpets professionally cleaned (Doug Holliday I will give you 5 stars mate), cleaned top to bottom, garden immaculate. But no, it’s not good enough. These people need to be held to account and tenants should have more rights, for example a pre-vacating inspection to identify issues that must be put right before you get deposit back. But with Bond it’s “no - once we have inspected you leave and we get our contractors in at your cost”. They they move new tenants in without actually doing the clean or any of the work. Daylight robbery. I would be very careful trusting Bond. Very careful.
Dear Mr Fowler, Our Lettings Manager has explained to you at length and in great detail the end of tenancy process. One of our Directors has also done the same and we put in place measures for an inspection to be carried out prior to the end of your tenancy so that you would have the opportunity before your tenancy ended to rectify anything that arose from the final inspection which again is carried out by an independent party and not a member of our staff. You subsequently chose to cancel the arrangements we had put in place especially for you which meant the final inspection could not take place until after your tenancy ended. We had explained to you at great length that once your notice period and tenancy ended that legally we were not allowed to give you access to the property and you would not have the ability to rectify matters identified. We have dealt with 100’s of tenants for over a decade now and have received no other complaints about the process or retention of deposit funds which as we have explained is also dealt with by an independent body. As an agent we cannot just choose to retain a tenants deposit without reasonable cause. We will continue to discuss this matter with you directly as we have been already today.
