Fine home - excellent customer servicesTransferred to D J Alexander and experienced poor and unhelpful customer service.Possibly because my flat was empty (major repairs) so they weren’t receiving any money from me and then I sold my flat.Would not recommendI have dated the feedback from today as not offered a date range.

GoogleDJ Alexander have been wildly incompetent throughout our tenancy. Upon check out the dispute re our deposit has been laughable. They were looking to charge us for cleaning despite the fact that the property was disgusting when we moved in and we notified them at the time that unless they got it cleaned, we wouldn’t be cleaning it to a professional standard upon leaving. We evidenced this in our dispute but no one paid attention and I had to send the evidence three times. They also tried to charge us for shampooing a carpet that was rated the lowest rating on the inventory when we moved in and was very badly stained before we were even tenants (these charges magically disappeared upon challenging. They even tried to charge us £5 for a lightbulb that we evidenced the previous agent advising us that it could not be changed due to its location! They are absolute rip off merchants. Weeks between responses, never following up etc. We moved out on 26th October and on 13th December we are still no further forward. Honestly if you can avoid them then seriously do!

I really felt supported and guided by Gill and Donna who were both very supportive and helpful on my journey to find and secure the right property.Gill was a supportive voice on the phone as well as via email. Donna was a great guide and reassurance source in person with show rounds and really gave me great advise and support as I really struggled initially but with their guidance and them both providing and excellent service I gained the property to make me feel, happy, safe and secure for myself and my family.

TrustpilotA little advice for tenants and landlords
DJ Alexander deserve 0 stars.If you are lucky enough to have the choice when moving to Edinburgh avoid at all costs.I am a renter and DJ Alexander bought out the previous letting agent (Braemore) and have taken over management of the property.For renters I would warn that they are impossible to get a hold of and good luck getting a repair done properly. To give a short anecdote; there is black mould in the property due to the seals on the windows failing. DJ Alexander sent someone out to assess the issue and they advised that their recommendation would be for the windows to be replaced. A week or so after this visit DJ Alexander closed the repair request, stating that is was "resolved". Do not expect repairs to be done. Additionally, DJ Alexander will charge you for everything they can. I have previously requested a reference confirming that I pay the rent every month and they wanted £24 for this "service". £24 pound for a 2 minute job...For landlords, I highly doubt Edinburgh is full of slum-lords so I assume agents like DJ Alexander just choose not to inform you of serious issues with the property. I understand you pay them to handle these things for you but if the property has a serious issue like the one described above their inaction is damaging your property, your investment. Hold them accountable you are the only people they will listen to.

My partner and I have rented our property for 5 and half years. When we originally signed the lease it was with FineHolm but they were bought over by DJ Alexander. In the last year we have needed some general repairs as the house is old and there has been minimal to no up keep of the infrastructure from the letting agent or the landlord. The first thing that happened was that our shower broke at the start of the year and we had not way of washing except using the sink in the bathroom or going to a friends for a shower. We gave the letting agents four days to get this fixed before raising it again as we were aware this was not urgent, eventually a plumber came out and fixed the issue but it took a week of us emailing and calling for it to be done. The second thing that we raised was that our house was unbearably cold even when the heating was on. Two different people came out to look at the windows and one said and i quote "whoever installed these windows should be shot" we were advised not to touch one of the windows because the glass could fall out and another one of the windows that was stuck was our emergency exit. From that point it took three months of us calling and emailing to eventually get a response that they were waiting on funds to be transferred from the landlord. We then waited another week with still no response at this point it was snowing outside and we could see our breath when were inside with the heating on. It took my partner calling and us refusing to pay rent before they came and fixed the windows, which has not helped much with the heat and they have not repaired our emergency exit but by this point we were just happy something was getting done. It is now January and we have had an issue with our plumbing since the 1st which has meant we cannot use any water in our bathroom or flush the toilet it has taken us calling 10 times and sending what i would say is a rude but justified email to our property manager to finally get someone to come out today to get this sorted. I have rented properties since i was 19 and i can honestly say i have never dealt with such incompetence from a letting agent in 10 years. they have no urgency in dealing with repairs and do not seem to care about the standard of living for the tenants. I would never recommend this letting agent to anyone.

Any repairs they organised were expensive and when it came to letting it seemed like they were more concerned with their own convenience than that of the owner e.g. wanting a 2 week void between lettings to allow them time to inspect the property. We have recently successfully sold a property through Dj Alexander and are more than happy to leave a review.From the start of the process to the conclusion we were highly impressed with the professionalism, service culture and communication of all company staff involved.The marketing of the property was excellent and iam convinced that the efforts of the staff played a big part in us obtaining a higher price than we anticipated for the property.As overseas sellers we perhaps required a little more guidance than most and Sarah who acted as our agent was excellent throughout. She made herself available at all times to answer our queries and generally walk us through the process. In all aspects of the sale she provided us with a service above and beyond what were perhaps her duties. We would like to thank her wholeheartedly for her help with this.We would also like to thank Abby who was responsible for the staging process of the property sale. Her work was highly professional and as ive said im sure partly responsible for the sale.In sum the company, in particular the two staff mentioned, delivery what they said they would. A quick, trouble free sale during which we felt comfortable, well informed and with our best interests at the forefront of their service.
