This company’s signage is literally a red flag. Take note - and if you know what’s good for you - run. If you’re a prospective tenant, don’t just take my advice… read the pages and pages of reviews of this company from other people who have been put through hell by these people. Junior lettings staff - who was given the responsibility by her management when she was 5 minutes in the door with zero experience to remotely manage a full electrical rewire of the flat I was due to move into, at the tail end of Covid. The electrics were malfunctioning, the walls were destroyed, the carpets were destroyed and every other general maintenance issue that was supposed to be taken care of before I moved in, she failed on. Then she went of a campaign of emotional manipulation in an attempt to wear me out when I was trying to have her take responsibility, admit fault and fix the damage. She didn’t admit fault. She didn’t apologise. She didn’t fix anything. I fixed everything myself - walls, floors, kitchen units, fireplace. I spent thousands of pounds doing so. I should also add that the flat was on the market with no valid electric safety certificate and only after it was advertised, had people view, and a deposit paid and a let agreed did this junior notice that the EICR certificate (and others) had expired. Not only was there no proper due diligence on my move in, there was no proper due diligence when the previous tenants moved out. Sloppy, at best. Director of Property Management-. This vile excuse for a woman took no responsibility, never apologised, never picked up the phone, never fixed anything and threatened my tenancy. head of customer service - this vile excuse for a man - never picked up the phone, mishandled my formal complaint, took absolutely no responsibility for the problems they had created, admitted no fault, harassed me in the process, never resolved anything, and gave me no option but to seek compensation via a tribunal. The case had so many items to be heard that it took 3 hearing, over 2 years. As soon as the case was over, DJ Alexander sent me a notice to leave - citing that the landlord wanted to move a family member in. This was a lie. The flat was back on the market less than 4 weeks after I moved out, with one of their red flags in the front garden. For those who have read this far - also take note that they have a boiler plate response on negative google reviews suggesting that we reach out to customer service with our complaints - trying to look like they care. 4 years of my life absolutely ruined by people who’s egos will not allow them so just say, sorry - I was wrong - let’s fix things.

I recently started renting a property with DJ Alexander after months of property hunting! Ailie helped me through the whole application process, starting with the viewing of the property. Ailie was also happy to reschedule the handover of the property keys to a time slot when we were available; she showed us everything in the property, including the meters and spots where they have a team scheduled to repaint, etc. Really grateful to have found such a lovely property and a helpful agent! :)

Smooth, some quirky interfaces

Very happy with the real estate agent Cameron Lindsay - punctual, very responsive, polite and professional. All my questions and requests were addressed without any issues. The online interface (Goodlord) for signing the contract etc. is quite annoying. It suggests too many add ons and additional contracts, which makes for a cluttered, confusing, and frankly irritating experience. Tili integration is a nice idea but did not work for me.

Extremely poor experience dealing with DJ Alexander over an ongoing rat infestation. The property has had an active rat problem, with rats causing damage to electrical wiring. The electrician has confirmed they will not attend while the infestation remains untreated because of the safety risk to their staff. Despite this, I have been told the property is habitable. There has also been significant back-and-forth over who is responsible for dealing with internal and external proofing. I was initially told that external proofing across the tenement could take months, while the internal proofing was the main issue. Only after continued complaints has internal proofing now been raised. I have also been provided with a pest-control report containing an incorrect property address and contact details that do not appear to work, which has made it difficult to independently verify the report. The situation has now been escalated to Glasgow City Council Environmental Health and Housing through my local councillor. Overall, I have found the handling of this issue extremely frustrating. I am paying rent for a property where there has been an ongoing rat infestation, damage to electrical wiring and unresolved issues affecting the kitchen, while I have had to repeatedly chase for basic answers and action.
