GoogleInfamously the worst renting agency in Edinburgh, especially when it comes to maintenance. I was in a flat for 3 years and when I first moved in it was quickly established that the radiators didn’t work due to faulty valves. It took them 6 months (which included the whole of winter) and god knows how many reminder emails on my part for them to fix the valves. They also took more than a year (I could not make this up if I tried to) to replace one broken chair, although the second time one of my chairs broke it only took them three months so I guess they have a good learning curve.

GoogleI dont know who are these people putting up these reviews (must be thier own), never ever once got a viewing booked for any single property listing at their site. Its a completely fake estate agency.

I'm sorry to hear about your experience, assuming it was for a rental property, rather then sales (where you left your review), as we dont have any record of you on our system. If it is for sales, please contact me directly on melinda.illes@djalexander.co.uk and if its for lettings, if you send me an email with your requirements, i will ensure someone from our lettings team will get in touch with you and try to assist you. The rental market is extremely busy and summer is historically our busiest period, so viewings for properties can get filled up very quickly. Sometimes we receive hundreds of enquiries for the same property, so appreciate the frustration. But i can reassure you neither our agency or our reviews are fake, in both sales and lettings, we work extremely hard and do our upmost to assist as many clients as we can.

GoogleI recently sold a flat in Edinburgh through D J Alexander who I found to be efficient and courteous throughout. I dealt primarily with Sarah McIntyre and Abby Grigg who were both highly professional, ably supported by Sara Rankin. I have no hesitation in recommending them.

GoogleI recently had 2 viewings with Keiran from the sales team and was really impressed with the service. He was punctual, friendly, and very knowledgeable about the property. Kieran took the time to answer all of my questions and offered helpful advice without being pushy. As a first time buyer I was slightly nervous but his calm personality made the whole experience feel professional and relaxed, and I appreciated his honest and informative approach.

GoogleI have been using DJ Alexander as a rental agency for a few years. We moved into a lovely flat 18 months ago, and the team were graceful to support us through application and allow us a swift viewing. On entry, we had a few issues in the flat, nothing to do with the agency, but more to do with the landlord being unresponsive. Despite the house issues being a frustration (heating, boiler, loo etc) DJ were always engaged and proactive, ensuring we knew our options and a team of helpers were on hand. This was appreciated as our landlord was lacklustre and at times unresponsive. But DJ really pushed to support their tenants and make sure we were fairly treated in a timely manner whenever possible, which was appreciated. A tough job to mediate at times, feel they did this professionally.

GoogleMy flatmates and I had been searching for a flat for months and we began to lose hope. However, we finally found our dream flat with the help of Caroline Connelly, who was absolutely amazing. She was extremely helpful and answered every single question we had. She was easy to talk to and went above and beyond to help us with anything we needed. I couldn’t recommend an estate agent more!! GoogleAvoid - I really didn't have the best experience. While the agents were nice, the viewings and application process were not very professional. Very few clear answers to my questions during the viewings or via e-mail, and whenever I would point to something that seems problematic in a flat (no electricity, mold, fresh damp stains, damaged paint) it was brushed over. I also never received the application form from the real estate agents who arranged the visits (they also don't seem to communicate among themselves) and had to resort to contacting their office. Once I filled out the application and provided all the paperwork, I never heard back. It is really disappointing to be treated so poorly as a tenant, it's a lack of basic respect. I am glad I found an apartment with a much more professional and efficient letting agency.

The staff at DJ Alexander were very helpful in securing a flat rental for me. They use an automated online referencing system which was a bit clunky to use for anyone with non-standard circumstances but Gill was very helpful in finding a suitable work-around solution.
