Our experience renting through Chase Buchanan was extremely disappointing and raised serious concerns about tenant protection and property management standards. During our two-year tenancy at Haygreen Close in Kingston upon Thames we experienced major maintenance issues, including a leaking ceiling caused after plumbing work in the bathroom above the living room. For several months we had to keep buckets in the living room to collect water and mould eventually developed on the ceiling. This situation was particularly worrying because my wife was pregnant at the time. We also experienced aggressive behaviour from a neighbour, including shouting during the night, throwing bottles and violently banging on our door. We reported this to the agency but felt that our safety concerns were not taken seriously. UK housing law, including the Homes (Fitness for Human Habitation) Act 2018, requires landlords and managing agents to ensure that properties are safe and suitable for tenants to live in. Prolonged damp and mould issues can pose serious health risks. Now, after we moved out following two years of tenancy and consistently paying rent on time, the agency is attempting to make multiple deductions from our deposit. If necessary we will pursue the matter through the tenancy deposit protection scheme and seek advice from organisations such as Citizens Advice and Shelter, which support tenants facing disputes. We would strongly advise future tenants to carefully document all communication and property conditions when dealing with this agency.

Be extremely cautious when dealing with this agency because they will cause you a lot of stress. They are not supportive of tenants and their problems; instead, they side with landlords and are reluctant to upset them. On the final day of our tenancy, they charged us for an entire day's rent, which I plan to report to the deposit protection scheme. They tried to charge us £500.00 plus for tea stains on a wall; we were accused of painting a wall and of the flat not being cleaned, which is not true. We left the flat clean, despite it being extremely poor and barely livable.

Sale of house with Chase Buchanan (Twickenham)

We chose Chase Buchanan (Twickenham) to sell my late parents house after meeting Adam Silvester with regards to valuating the house for probate purposes. Adam was so relaxed and made us feel at ease immediately. He gave his advise which did not feel like a sales pitch (unlike the experience we had with two other estate agents). Kristian Fitchett was the main person to show the house to interested parties as did other members of staff. Kristian was always very helpful and very approachable. Communication via phone and email was always very good! Any unforeseen issues were dealt with professionally. Communication with our solicitor when required was also very much appreciated. Whenever we had to call Chase Buchanan the staff were always very friendly and calls were returned. We would highly recommend Chase Buchanan and we would definitely use them again! The sale was completed on 29th April 2026. A big thank you to you all!

Letting service of a high and professional standard

It has been a smooth and pleasant experience to rent out our apartment with Chase Buchanan Lettings. Dominick helped to get the process to start, and Kate provided strong and responsive support from the start to securing tenancy. It was followed by equally high standard support work from Kena who kept us updated throughout the progression period to after tenants move-in. Eve from the property management team took over the responsibilities of facilitating communications between tenants and us, as well as help and support to resolve any issues reported from tenants during the initial move-in period.
