I'm sure with an easy, straight forward sale and rental this estate agent excels, leaving you feeling rosy and warm in your new home. However the test of a good estate agent is how they handle things when they present a challenge and this is where this estate agent fails. Quite simply - to avoid a lengthy rant - this agency wouldn't know the meaning of the word pro active if it jumped up and bit them on the ****. Some may say it's the typical and possibly endearing Devon manana, however I say it is just sheer laziness and arrogance that dictates that the customer can never be right and that the customers instruction or view is dissmissed as irrelevant. Perhaps the partner Wayne Clifton should have as his strap line the immortal lines of the song from Annie; 'tomorrow, tomorrow, I love you tomorrow, your only a day away'. To add context to this review, I have been a customer of this estate agent for over ten years as both a personal buyer and seller and as a property developer and landlord.

I am sincerely sorry you feel that way DH. I still believe trying to market a property without a physical inspection to take measurements, a detailed description and quality photographs would be unprofessional and outside of our code of conduct in compliance with the Property Misdescriptions Act 1991. I notice your property still is not on any websites and can only assume your new agent is also having similar issues..

Efficient and weekly updates received by telephone although as this was a fairly straightforward sale it wasn't always needed and I didn't learn much from them. However they were useful with a couple of queries we had.
Purchaser found extremely quickly due to unusual circumstances with knowledge they had from existing clients who were stuck in a chain. Property didn't actually get marketed openly i.e. no brochures or web-site entry and despite initial indication that discount on fee would be given this was then refused when mentioned later. Disappointing!
Otherwise they knew the local market well and used due to the number of sales achieved in the village in the previous few months.

I have been with this agent for a number of years. They handle my, rather problematic, property. Letting can be a stressful and unpleasant experience at the best of times but I have always had confidence that the staff at Bond Oxborough Phillips are giving me their best efforts and support.
Not only do they carry out what you would expect of them as an agency, but they also have a personal touch that is beyond what you might receive from larger agents. Sharon in lettings is professional and yet has a keen understanding of both sides of the letting/renting element.
If ever I have had the rare question or concern Karl has been there to help and support and even co-ordinate on occasions, I'm never made to feel like there is something they can't handle or a request I can't make. It is also comforting to know that, when I call up, there are a number of staff who know my property and can answer questions.
This is a great agency that is just the right size to ensure it has a wide customer base and yet can still give the personal attention needed.
