The sale of our house was dogged first by Brexit and then by Covid. We had troublesome purchasers who let us down and simultaneous frustration with the purchase of our new home. So, all in all, the experience was very stressful. None of this was caused by Acres, however, who were responsive and sympathetic throughout the year and a quarter it took to sell our house. The story had a happy ending. As Acres said, 'things will all work out in the end'.

Ive never written a review before but reading other reviews I felt it was only fair to mention the experience I had with Acres Four Oaks. I tried to arrange a viewing so called the office,the girl who answered the phone had a bright cheerful manner, she was extremely helpful and although the property I asked to view was sold, she offered me alternative properties. She was knowledgeable about the local area,friendly and polite.I asked her name so I could speak to her again and it was Liz, would highly recommend.

Worst agent to view a property

Must be worst agents in the Sutton Coldfield area, tried to book a viewing on a property that was listed just for one day and was told that all viewings were booked up. To add it all up they said they would take any more viewings even though they said they had only 4 bookings for the property. I hope that the sellers knows what is going on that they are losing potential buyers.

Used them ( Sutton Coldfield office) last year to sell our house. The manager Louise is impressive when after business, but after you’ve signed up she is less easy to speak to. Found her abrupt and often unhelpful, though most of the other staff working there were helpful and professional. Louise often unprofessional, calling us ‘chick’ and other annoying names, never by our actual names. Hence we have chosen not use them to sell my mum’s bungalow.

I contacted 3 estate agents to value property and put on market. Acres were the only company that responded to our request and I didn’t bother with the other 2, as they were apparently not interested. Nigel Deakes came round and discussed everything with us, as it was a scary time for us as we had been in house fir 36 yrs. Nigel did us a review/ took some great photos and property was put on market. Nigel’s team took over and walked us through every step of the way and did viewing on our behalf when we were not in a position to do so. Our property was marketed at a competitive cost and sold within a week ... I was that impressed that I approached them to put sons flat on market, again at a competitive cost. His flat sound within a week. Nigel & his team kept us in the loop at all times. I was impressed with the service they offered, as said at a competitive cost and would highly recommend.

Unfortunately, I have been unable to arrange any viewings with a number of properties that are sold by Acres, the reason given to me was due to Covid regulations and the fact that my house is currently in market and does not have a buyer. I have done viewings with other agents who have allowed viewings following Covid secure measures like wearing masks, not touching surfaces, sanitising etc, however Acres has a strict policy which deters potentially good buyers!

As a tenant for many years I have observed that whenever something works in their favour the communication is flawless. The other way round - you end up waiting a long time or you’re being ignored. RESPONSE: Yes please! I have been sent a contract renewal with rent increase with less than a month’s notice and when I pointed it out the reply was „it is in line with your contract” ...what does that that even mean? After calling the office to arrange a viewing on a property for sale, I was asked by the sales associate Liz if my property was sold, to which I replied “no I have not listed it” (as I am thinking of putting it on rent). Her reply was that she cannot arrange a viewing under that circumstance. I asked why, as I may or may not sell my property and instead rent it out. She aggressively replied with “well you just said that you have not listed it!!” After explaining my intentions, to which her rather negative and dumbfounded attitude couldn’t bare to swallow, I decided to let it pass and try again with my wording. After finally getting my point across I then asked again to arrange a viewing. To which she now replied “do you have proof of funding - a mortgage in principal ?!” I said “you need that just to view a property?! You’re the only agent that’s ever asked that. Her reply - “yes, well it works for us!!” She was oblivious to the fact that I did not need a mortgage as I was a cash buyer. So in a nutshell a house me and my wife wanted to view and potentially purchase, was lost out on due to Liz not allowing us to view and property they have for sale. Even though the property has been on sale for quite a while and has been reduced in price recently. At this point I realised I was talking to a narcissist individual who obviously did not want a potential sale or even hit their targeted viewing figures. The only positive I can take from this experience was that I was not singled out, as from a number of previous reviews Liz seems to be quite a catch. If you are planning to sell your property, I would definitely not recommend this place! I know I won’t.NegativeQuality, Professionalism

Shame there is not a ZERO start ! this agent is really terrible. we used them which is completely wasted our time. I cannot believe from the manager to staff none of them are decent ! A typical Cowboy agent! They have no professional attitude, no moral , no knowledge, no Conscious . How could they run this estate agent business for so many years? Cannot imagine How many people have been suffered from their bad business attitude? They just want to take people’s money. Do not recommend this agent to sell your house !
