Property Management from Martin & Co.

After Martin & Co. purchased Executive Lets earlier this year, there were a few initial teething problems, with computer change overs and staff reshuffles. I'm glad to say that the property management is running smoothly again, just like it was with Executive Lets. Sarah Quinton is my property manager. She is reliable, competent, helpful and enthusiastic too. This gives me every confidence in her. No problem seems too difficult for Sarah or her surrounding team, who have all kept their promises, be it returning a phone call or sending a document when requested. I have used Executive Lets to manage my properties for many years and I am glad that I stayed with them during the buy out of Executive Lets. I recommended Executive Lets to a couple of my friends, and they have also remained with Executive Lets throughout the changeover to Martin & Co. I am confident that Martin & Co will continue to offer a great service and I will continue to use them.

Choosing a letting agent can be a worry, so I am told. To date, Martin & Co Plymouth have managed our lettings in a timely and proper manner, attending to all aspects of setting up tenancies and dealing with queries promptly and with courtesy. This is our first experience of rentals management and I am pleased that Chris and Merolyn opened the Plymouth office for business. So would I recommend Martin & Co? Certainly - and have already done so!

Poor Communication Beware

Unfortunately leaving this review as my wife and I felt incredible let down though our sales experience. Intially on valuation we were bouyed up by the prospect of a trouble free sale and informed that Martin and Co would organise an open house to get a larger selection of buyers through the house as early as possible to promote the sale, this open house never happened. Communication to organise viewings was sporatic , including in one conversation being told that we had a viewing book the next day that neither my wife or I had been asked to confirm. During a second viewing most of our furniture got moved by the buyers, when I questioned the sales agent I was informed they were always supervised for this to change to 'I watched them from down stairs while 2 viewed the kitchen and 2 viewed up stairs . Finally got to the point of asking to cancel the contracted to be told that they would prefer a dual agency, at no point told we would need to confirm in writing now I must pay 2 fees

I recently engaged the Services of Martin & Co to value two of my Houses - my Residential Home and a Buy to Let Property we own. The communication process from start to finish is not something I have experienced before with an Estate Agent - I even had a text reminder for the Appointment on the day, which I thought was a great personal touch! Chris is very knowledgeable, personable & honest - he talked us through our various options and also gave us his personal & professional opinion on our Properties, which we really appreciated. Estate agent OR letting agent. Both absolutely first class!

Having been let down twice in the past by two different independent Plymouth letting agents, we were hesitant when Martin & Co Plymouth were recommended to us. We soon discovered we had no cause to be, they were excellent! From the first meeting with Chris, a friendly, professional guy, it was clear he understood perfectly our needs. We were offered freedom in exactly how much we wanted Martin & Co Plymouth to do (and therefore how much we paid them!) The marketing of our property was spot on, their photos were excellent, they really did the job and they found us excellent tenants quicker than they promised to, and at a higher rent then we had previously received! Communication was always friendly, prompt and efficient from all members of staff who dealt with us and any issues with the property were quickly sorted. When we decided to sell the property, the level of service from Martin & Co Plymouth was, if anything, even better. Our sale was handled by Claire, who was extremely pleasant to deal with and very efficient. If possible we particularly wanted to sell to someone who would continue let the property and allow our tenants to stay. We took some advice from Claire which resulted in the very next person viewing the property actually buying it and doing exactly that! Claire competently managed the whole process throughout the sale and seemed to constantly be on the phone to both sides solicitors chasing them up and reporting every step back to us. The house is now sold and we have no plans for any property transactions in the foreseeable future but if we did, we would not hesitate to come straight back to Martin & Co Plymouth. In short, everyone we came in to contact with at Martin & Co Plymouth did exactly what we would have hoped they would do and more, in a friendly, professional and efficient manner. Thoroughly recommended!

We were initially using an online agent for our property.m, and we did get lots of viewings on our fairly unique cottage. But nothing was translating into offers over several months. My partner and I viewed a rental property on Maristow Avenue. We were shown around the property by a representative called Chris. Unfortunately, after viewing several other properties from other letting agents we decided on renting a different house. However, I just wanted to express my sincere thanks to Chris as he really went the extra mile to ensure we were fully informed. He even contacted us in the evening to enquire about our decision and genuinely seemed pleased we had found a property right for us even though it was with another agency. The staff at Martin & Co were very helpful in securing us our new property in Mannamead. They didn't push us into the transaction, giving us time to reflect properly on our decision.
