Amazing support throughout our move

I would like to say a massive thank you to all at Charles Carr in Bitterne who helped us throughout the process of our move. Lauren helped us from the start from when we first viewed the property we wanted to purchase her support along the way was outstanding. We then had the help and support from Louise who help drive the purchase through to get us across the line to exchange contracts. Louise's support and communication has been amazing. Every call i made was answered, every email I sent was repl;ied to, this has been a massive support to us through this stressful time of moving.. Charles Carr won't have my details on their system under this name, I'm having to use another name as they keep pestering me, I WILL NOT USE YOU, especially after the report I have seen in the Daily Echo, I'm appalled that a company can change so many times ( 3 different brand names with MULTIPLE names BAHIND THE FACE OF THE BRAND), after doing some more research they have unsecured debts of £388,000 in a previous company name. They are Bullish, Arrogant and make estate agents look Bad, They offer a cheap fee and now I know why.

I found Charles Carr to be extremely professional when dealing with my recent property purchase. I always felt that there was someone I could speak to in the office, and they always kept me updated the whole way. Louise in particular was really understanding and always gave me updates as soon as they came in. The only reason it’s not a five star from me is only due to the numerous delays I had and the incorrect information I received at the beginning of my transaction. This was not wholey Charles Carr’s fault, however it did leave me feeling a bit in satisfied. Overall though I would thoroughly recommend Charles Carr for any property related transactions and will inform my friends and family of their great service. Thanks specifically to Louise and Lauren. Excellent service from agents at Charles Carr!

It was a bit daunting selling our home, but during all the valuations from different estate agents, Charles Carr stood out. We were particularly impressed with Lauren, who did the viewings on our house. She contacted me pro-actively after each viewing to let me know how it went and to give me some feedback. She has always gone above and beyond and always responds to messages and emails really quickly, which reassured me greatly. We have accepted an offer on our home but I doubt this would have happened as quickly without Lauren and Charles’s Carr Estate agents!

Fantastic support

We were really impressed with the quality of the sale provision and how Charles Carr marketed our property. They sold it quickly (which turned out to be the easy part of the process). Unfortunately our buyer's below us ended up having three different buyers, all with different agents etc but also (as it turned out) a solicitor's that made mistakes on their paperwork etc etc. This meant that it was incredibly hard to get information through the chain about what was going on, however the staff at Charles Carr were AMAZING. They tirelessly contacted agents, solicitors, brokers further down the chain and kept in daily contact with us through all the difficulties. I think without them not only would we have lost the house we were buying as they would have got fed up and left, but we would have ended up losing our sale as well. I believe they saved the whole process through the professionalism of their staff. I cannot thank them enough.

Outstanding from beginning to end

All of the team at Charles Carr have been absolutely superb from start to finish. Having never sold a property before and having heard everyone’s terror stories of awful estate agents, I wasn’t looking forward to it. However, Charles Carr have been an absolute dream! They’ve seen us through every step of the sale and even gone above and beyond to ensure that our purchase (with a different agent) has stayed on track. Louise Carr has been incredible and I can not commend her highly enough for the work she has put in to ensure everything has gone to plan. Charles Carr had the house sold within a week and we are due to complete within 10 weeks of having the offer accepted on our purchase. MASSIVE THANKS owed to Charles Carr, they’re fantastic - they even came to my rescue when I was locked out of my house!

An excellent agent

We were looked after by Alia, who was helpful, responsive and offered some brilliant insights into the local market - all of which was invaluable in our search. She was always available to answer our questions, even responding to emails late at night or early in the morning and would often go out of her way to arrange viewings or move them as circumstances dictated. Charles Carr themselves are one of the few agents who actually listen to your requirements and send you relevant properties. Their low pressure approach and excellent local knowledge means we would gladly look to use them in the future.

From initially not being sent a copy of the signed Agency Agreement through several cancelled viewings, a whole 10 days without a viewing, the "information sheet for your reference" not being included with either of the Formal Confirmation of Purchase letters, not being told who our "allocated specific member of staff" was, three weeks with no updates on progress (with both offers), failure to recognise the signs that our first buyers were about to pull out, no evidence of any "chasing and providing regular updates on the progress of our sale", a lack of knowledge of our sale among the "18 members of staff" making up the "collective team", being told to drop our key in at one of your Bitterne offices but finding it locked and in darkness when we got there and having to go to the other office where a team meeting was taking place and we were made to feel like we were intruding, being told that we could "collect the keys" for the house we had just sold when we were just enquiring as to whether the funds for the sale had been received - and finally, not being sent the link to this review. In short, very disappointing service and would definitely NOT recommend you.

Exceptional Service - Couldn't have asked for more

From start to finish, Charles Carr gave us an outstanding service, every step of the way. Whether we needed an update, advice, an explanation, help or (sometimes even) a shoulder to cry on, they were there for us. Their communication is second to none and they kept us informed at all times with any info/updates they had for us. All staff were incredibly friendly and helpful but a special mention must go to Louise, who looked after our sale and kept us laughing and smiling even at times of despair with our difficult buyers! Thank you so much, we wouldn't even consider using another agent any time in the future.

Professional and helpful all through the process

All of the team from Charles Carr involved with our sale and purchase were professional and helpful from start to finish. It was a tricky sale to negotiate as it involved a solicitor called Lawcomm who were dire but the team helped us to get to the finish line and hold onto hope when it seemed as if there was none to be had! They were courteous , professional and got the job done. The house was sold in 4 days from the Open day !! Brilliant work .

Polite, helpfull and well informed

As first time buyers we were very unfamiliar with what to look for and what to watch our for when looking around properties. Emma helped us to identify our requirements and then worked with us to make sure that the flat we found was right for us. Replies to enquiries were near instant, even when acting as a proxy between ourselves and the previous owner, which took away a great deal of stress from the process! It has been a pleasure dealing with all the staff at Charles Carr, and I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone, buyer or seller.
