I have been searching for a family let on behalf of my daughter who is returning from abroad so I have contacted every estate agent in the Bath area as there is such a shortage of properties. Sarah stood out as the one person I felt was really going to help me, not the standard “ sorry nothing available “ She came across as genuine and professional, explained the situation kindly but honestly, she told me she wouldn’t forget me and she didn’t ! Although I eventually found a property through another agency , I wish it had been through Martin and co because I know that it would have been a pleasure to carry on the process with Sarah. If Sarah is a reflection of the rest of Martin and co then go with them !

GoogleM&Co worked quickly to sort out referencing and paperwork so our move in to the property was smooth. Gaye was always friendly and any maintenance issues we had with the property were resolved. They were consistently kind and considerate when conducting property viewings - James was lovely - and were respectful of our space. Thanks guys!

Gaye met me at the door, ready early. She explained the house set up clearly. We went up to the flat and Gaye knew the details and that area of Bath. She was happy to honestly discuss the accommodation including problems. We chatted to another couple renting in the house who did the garden. Must be a secret nearly unique in central Bath. I explained that it involved more work than I could manage at present. Gaye was an ideal person for my first introduction to viewing flats in Bath. Thank you.

GoogleWe rent a property through Martin and Co that is owned by Counsellor Lucy Hodge in Bath. Lucy is a persistently dithering, miserly hunchback who refuses to update a 50 year old electrical system despite repeated and ongoing electrical issues that affected several appliances and despite the recommendations of the electrical safety report, John is her ignorant, mumbling and delusional lapdog. They insist on multiple visits at short notice and are totally ineffectual. They left loo brushes belonging to the deceased previous owners along with stained table cloths and a range of mucky and unsafe electrical items and other possessions of the previous owner and failed to carry out a range of clearing and plumbing work promised for prior to our ingoing which had to then happen a month into the tenancy. They sent their 14 year old to carry a large piece of plate glass out of the house and along the road and yelled at him in our front porch making a dreadful scene as he was clearly struggling. They’ve persistently disregarded the need to wear masks, and tried to push passed me into the house expecting to be able to come round at the drop of a hat. Two months in they have offered no gesture of goodwill to account for a first month without a working shower, unplumbed loo, and a second month with persistent electrical and appliance issues. They owned the property for four months prior to our ingoing and failed to check a single tap or light switch. Anything to account for the ongoing issues, forget it, no gesture of goodwill, absolute misers! Totally disrespectful and entirely inadequate as landlords. DO NOT RENT from either! It’s their children I worry for, controlling nimbyism at its worst. The agents messed up the tenancy start date which we had to correct with the council, we asked for a letter to show the proper date and Gaye the incompetent agent tried to get us to sign a new contract with a whole raft of additional, strange and very particular, restrictive clauses including where we would be allowed to put our toaster and kettle, they even tried to stop us using one of the rooms. Underhand and unacceptable, infuriatingly presumptive and condescending, totally ignorant of tenant rights, greedy, careless and miserly. AVOID AVOID AVOID.

Fantastic service from Martin & Co with the sale of our house. We were feeling despondent after having no interest for months with a previous agent. Brian understood our concerns and gave us lots of information and data based on local and market research so that we could make informed decisions on the approach we needed to make and the price to market at. Brian's photography and video skills are at professional level; he really showed our home to its best and we were thrilled with the swift and impressive marketing. Within a day Gaye had booked viewings and within two weeks we had offers. The viewings were all organised and managed with the upmost professionalism and Gaye also managed some tricky situations with calm and poise. Both Brian and Gaye have always been available to offer good advice to us when we had questions and decisions to make. We are pleased to now be proceeding with our sale conveyancing so soon, and the estate agent management of this process has continued to be well coordinated by Brian and Gaye. We can not recommend them highly enough. Thank you.

I was shown around a property on Saturday by Meridith. After previously communicating with Meridith through email prior to the viewing it was lovely that she reassured me the viewing process would be well organised. During the viewing, Meridith was extremely helpful and answered all of our questions. As this is our first time renting a student property this was extremely important and Meridith was very understanding of this. In terms of COVID, the preparations and expectations were set out very well!Overall, it was very well organised, and was a great experience and made the viewing process smooth! Thank you!
