GoogleEarlier this year I rented out a flat using Your Move. Due to circumstances outwith my control I only lived there for 3 months so had quite a short tenancy.
Upon moving out, I felt like I was penalised for not staying longer by being charged over £400 in garden work, despite having work done to it before I left, and being charged over £300 for small holes the wall when I was told I could put items on the wall as long as holes were filled in before I left, which I did.
Even though Your Move would respond to me quickly I felt like I would not receive what I asked for. As they were charging me lots of money I asked for an itemised list of exactly what needed done and how much it would cost. I only received the estimates of overall jobs that did not include a breakdown of the work. The wording used in emails would often seem blunt.
Overall I would not use them again as a letting agent and did not have a great experience.

We appreciate that deposit disputes can be frustrating for everyone involved. In this case, the landlord offered to settle the matter by requesting only 50% of the cost of the repair quotations as a compromise. Unfortunately, we did not receive a response to this offer.
As there is a strict 28 day deadline for submitting deposit proposals to MyDeposits, we were required to proceed within that timeframe to ensure the matter could be considered by the scheme.
The proposed deductions were based on the independent check-out report, which included 360° photographic evidence. This report identified damage to the lounge walls and recorded that the garden had not been maintained during the four-month tenancy.
We always aim to be fair and transparent throughout the tenancy and deposit process, and we encourage both landlords and tenants to resolve issues amicably wherever possible. We genuinely wish you all the best for the future.
