Experience has been highly positive so far. I’m grateful to my letting manager, Elaine Thompson, for handling issues or concerns I have raised in the past promptly with both professionalism and empathy. I recently had an issue with my washing machine completely breaking down and within just one morning after being notified of the issue, Elaine was able to liaise with the landlord to get it replaced. Not only was it the solution I was hoping for, but Elaine expressed sympathy for my situation at the same time which was reassuring. I am very pleased with the outcome and couldn’t have asked for a better service.

I had a really postive experience working with Your Move Edinburgh on the sale of my flat. After recieving a whole range of valuations from different estate agents, and Glenn Anderson provided good advise and really helped with getting to the right price to go to market with. Ellie Graham was very professional and communicative in managing the viewings and sale agreement. Overall, everyone I dealt with was friendly and helpful - really allieviating a lot of the stress involved with selling a property.

Originally gave 5 stars as the whole process of moving in was great and Leona was superb, this was over 5 years ago. In December 2025 my relationship ended and my ex partner moved out of our shared rental property and took herself off the lease. I then received an email next day from Yourmove saying if I wanted to keep on the tenancy they would have to do a rent review and got back to me wishing to increase my rent (now as a solo tenant) from £875pcm to £1350! There was no chance of me being able to pay this on my own and I offered to pay up to to £1000 but this was refused. I was then forced to submit a 28 day moving out notice or it would go to court to remove me so I had to seek help from the homeless prevention charity as I was going to be on the streets, with nothing affordable in Edinburgh in the private renting sector for an individual tenant. I got no help whatsoever from Yourmove during this time throughout the festive season where I'm supposed to be enjoying family time instead I was being sick with nerves every morning worried where I was going to go, if I was going to have a place for me and my daughter to live. Quick enough to take your rent, slow to deal with any maintenance issues or they give you poorly "fixed" alternatives, and any change of circumstances don't expect any help or empathy.

After the most horrendous journey buying and selling with a different company and being left without a home I was very hesitant to trust anyone else in my buying journey. When I saw this property ticking all my boxes Ellie was amazing from the get go. Edit: After letting with Your Move Leith, my position has changed drastically. ---- Great experience finding a property to rent with Leona. Process was quick and painless, couldn't recommend enough! ----- This review is targeted towards tenants, I'm sure if you have the money to buy or sell with Your Move you'll probably be fine. ----- The initial inventory performed was of a very low standard, failing to spot several issues I had to add onto the report, plus others I gradually discovered over the course of living in the accommodation. I was lied to about the landlord being "really good", as this was something I specifically raised as a concern when moving into the property. Over the course of the tenancy, while I never had direct contact with the landlord, everything that was relayed back to me showed a complete disdain for tenants. A neighbour notified me of an issue with water damage which may have been caused by a leak in the property I was occupying. I immediately notified Your Move and heard nothing back for almost 2 weeks, before they suddenly got in touch (during working hours) asking for the landlord's contractor to get immediate access to the property so they check for the leak. They respected my refusal, however the fact this even happened shows a clear disregard for tenant privacy. I was notified that the property I was occupying was to be sold (due to landlord supposedly having a serious change of circumstances) and I received 6 months notice to vacate. When I found replacement accommodation I emailed Your Move with a very simple, 2 sentence question about whether or not my notice period could be shortened. Your Move incorrectly took this as me submitting my notice and almost immediately I received an avalanche of documents about end-of-tenancy, despite me not actually being ready, and no notice actually being submitted by myself. This caused an insane amount of stress, as I'm sure only people familiar with the diabolical renting situation in Edinburgh would know. The check out condition report felt completely arbitrary, as there was one instance of the "Decorative Order" of a bedroom changing from "Good" at check in, to "fair" at check out. Nothing was changed in that room! During checkout my opinion of Your Move only lessened further, as the landlord decided to dip into the security deposit to supposedly help redecorate for the upcoming sale, despite the flat being almost universally left in good condition. Naturally, when the flat went up for sale there was no redecoration done. Your Move were absolutely useless mediating between myself and the landlord when it was time for the deposit to be released. I got the impression that Your Move, and by extension landlords, will happily just do whatever they want in the hope that the tenant doesn't have the time (or money) to appeal, or go to court. Ultimately, Your Move Leith only care about their landlords, and fail to hold them to any sort of accountability when it comes to treating tenants with respect and decency. If you really need rented accommodation, then sure, go with these people. Otherwise, please choose anyone else. When you start renting a property with Your Move you receive a lot of pressure to write a Google review, rather than during or at the end of the tenancy when the feedback might actually be worth something.
