GoogleI wanted to share my experience with renting a property through YourMove, as it has been extremely disappointing. I rented Flat 2, 57 Portwood Road, and when I moved in, the house was not clean. I raised this issue with both the landlord and your agency, but nothing was done, leaving the property in an unclean state for two weeks. As a result, I had to make alternative arrangements for my accommodation during that time. Despite my complaints, YourMove did not take any action, citing that the property was managed by the landlord. The landlord, unfortunately, was extremely unresponsive and negligent throughout this process. I find this lack of support and accountability unacceptable. As the agent, I believe you still have a responsibility to address tenant concerns, especially when the landlord is so uncooperative. Now that I have moved out, the landlord is holding my deposit without any reason. I believe that YourMove, as the intermediary between tenants and landlords, should have taken steps to resolve this issue. Unfortunately, this experience has left me unwilling to rent through YourMove in the future. I hope this feedback will encourage you to improve the level of service provided to tenants and to ensure that landlords fulfill their responsibilities.
Good Afternoon, I’m sorry that you’ve had some troubles in the property whilst living there. As we act on a Tenant Find basis on the property, this means we only have a certain amount of control over the property condition/your deposit release. Whilst we are reassured by landlord/outgoing tenants that the properties are going cleaned in between the tenancies, it seems in this instance that this was not completed however at the time we did contact the landlord ourselves to advise you were unhappy with the condition of the property and for him to contact you. Similarly with the deposit, I can see that my colleague spoke to you at the end of July when you were struggling to reach your landlord to help with any details and we also contacted the landlord ourself to ask him to reach out to you. Unfortunately, as we do not hold the deposit on behalf of the landlord there is only a certain amount we are able to do however my advice would be to contact the Deposit Protection company directly where the deposit was held. GoogleI would never let from YOUR MOVE again. They failed us as tenants majorly them and the landlady they were meant to be in contact with. Moved us into a property that was covered in black mould and when questioning it I was called a liar even though it was in the opening inventory they had provided. Being in the property over a year and there were still major works that had to be done. Change of property mangers so I had to explain myself multiple times about the occurring situations. They used the book shelf to hide damp walls, we had the same contractors come out more than twice to just “patch the work up”. Honestly the worst experience of my life letting from them, and to think I was told at the start of my tenancy “it would be a smooth move.” Well it wasn’t! Please be careful letting from this agency!
Hi Marianna, our maintenance team acted when you reported some issues within the house and from there we worked with the landlord and yourself to provide a damp survey to find the cause of the issue. This was found to be from a crack on the render which was causing internal water damage - once the source of this was located the landlord arranged for remedial works to be completed to rectify/prevent this and redecorate accordingly. We unfortunately cannot control one of our maintenance team going on maternity leave however I welcome Josephine to re-confirm details with yourself to ensure there hasn't been any changes in the house. Whilst I do share your frustration that there were some ongoing works during your time at the house, we unfortunately also had to handle rubbish removal/cleaning once you vacated.
