AVOID Random faulty fire alarms go off whenever and wherever. 12:30 at night , 6 am , 3pm WHENEVER. If you log in a maintenance for anything it will be looked into probably after you move out. The main door is always open nowadays which allows homeless people and the sorts to come into the building as they please. If you work 9-5 then god help you because you are working the reception hours of the building and if you lock yourself out or need immediate assistance they will ask you to come back the next day- in their working hours. The price and location are the only good aspects

I would have given one star (or none) previously as management were useless (accounts still are slow in responding and are poor communicators) but the new accommodation manger, Siobahn, has really impressed me. She really seems to care about doing a good job and improving things for all. She has communicated well with me, followed up on my requests and made a point of keeping me up to date. If things continue like this, I believe she will turn things around. Thanks, Siobahn!

I don’t recommend anyone to rent a place from Xenia company, here are the reasons. My key card for the room door did not work and twice and it was on the weekend and I called the company to inform them and they made me pay £30 each time because they are greedy, the have no one to manage the building or no mentor to be at the building for emergency situations. Basically if you lose your card or if it’s not working, you will end up homeless because there is no one at the reception, helpline is useless and they charge you extra for what you paying. Fire alarms always goes off for no reason. The management is really poor and shocking (rude). When I moved to Sheffield, Liam was the building manager and everything was perfect till he left and Xenia ghosted the building. Overall, I do not advise anyone to rent or move here. The worst place ever I’ve stayed and I deeply regret renting with Xenia.

God awful. I've tried to give this place the benefit of the doubt, but it's gone downhill in the past year. If you enjoy being forced to leave your building 2-3 times a month because of a false fire alarm, your building's front door permanently open allowing any strangers inside, silverfish in your room, a maintenance team that no longer works, and a reception which is now open a whopping 2 hours a day instead of 8, then this could be the place for you! The price increase now makes this a one star instead of two star. If you choose to live here, look forward to being woken up at 5/6am to a fire alarm that no-one can turn off until 2/3 hours later! Terrible, terrible service.

Seriously, don’t move here. Shocking management, which left us with no heating for months on end while it was snowing with 2 disabled tenants, and when it got to summer, we couldn’t even open our window as we live on a corner block and it hit the other persons window. Shower mixer didn’t work for months, and had also barely any pressure. Our toilet seat has never been fixed, and we’ve lived here for almost a year, it’s not actually attached to the toilet. We have had major damp problems as the extractor fans don’t work in our apartment and for two or more months, one of our window handles was falling off. Our cinema room can’t be used as we don’t have a building manager any more, which we pay a fortune for. We only have 1 TV remote even though we pay for 2 TVs. When we have tried to complain we have been met with constant lies. If it was possible to put negative stars, honestly I would. Oh and our microwave oven broke and wasn’t replaced for actually god knows how long. And there are fire alarms almost twice a month as they’re super sensitive. Disgusting treatment of tenants. Oh and our heating didn’t work for months. Edit: I have called Xenia weekly & we still haven't had our black mould removed, our window does not even open and I can't find a single fire extinguisher in this entire property.

Run!!!! If I could give this house a zero rating, that would be perfect. They'll only collect your money and never fulfill their part of the agreement. They gave us a bed and mattress with bedbugs and we've been complaining since we moved in and nothing has been done till now. Heater is not working and winter is almost here. Once your room has an issue, just forget it cos they'll not do anything. Bedbug bites all over my body but I still need to pay full rent. No accommodation manager available, you'll rarely see anyone to talk to. Worse place to live in. P.s: Don't even tell me to call for further discussion because there's always no result even after wasting time to call to complain.

Strategic location, easy access to public transport and all necessary shops. However the apartment utilising access card system without 24hr on site team, I had my access card not working twice, it was after work hour so I need call emergency line and wait for sub-contracted security to attend. Shortest waiting period for the security team to arrive was 1.5 hours because they are not coming from Sheffield. Washing machine and dryer are available in the building but need to pay.

AWFUL - AVOID If I could give it 0 stars I would. Absolutely appalling management on the building, we've had to stand in toilet water every single day for 8 months and Xenia argue they've 'acted accordingly'. Apparently making your tenants stand in toilet water multiple times a day for 8 months is acceptable 🙃 The building is not safe. There is now a sign on the post room door telling you to ring 101 if your parcels have been stolen, because they leave the doors wide open so anyone can come in and so many people have had their post stolen. Not safe. Not secure. We've had so many issues with both maintenance and management. But funnily enough on the rare occasion you can get in touch with them or the even rare occasion they do reply, it's to tell you it's been passed on and someone will be in touch. Another great joke on Xenia's behalf! I've been going through with the same complaint since the start of May. 3 months later, still not sorted. I live on the 10th floor and my laminate flooring fell THROUGH underneath the skirting board so I could see the brick work outside. Not just one, but in two different places in the flat. I could use my oven for over a month because it would blow the fuses and cut off all electric in the flat. This took over a month to sort out. The washing machines also stain your white clothes black and brown! (This has happened numerous times now). Oh and the fire alarms! If you like being woken up at 6am or in the middle of the night multiple times a month for it not to be turned off for 2 hours, this is the place for you. I would seriously avoid this building at all costs. It's god awful, and if you look at all of the recent reviews you will see why. Awful management. Awful building. Awful facilities. Xenia only care about money and not your safety or wellness.

I’ve been here for 7 months. It’s been OK except for the occasional firm alarms going but that seems to have been sorted now. Recently noticed security at the reception. That’s a great improvement too. My room (superior room) has no issues. So far so good, it’s not been outstanding but it’s not horrible either. I see the effort been made to improve. It’s an OK place to stay in the city Centre.

Please don't make the same mistake as I did!!! I am writing to express my current on going experience with the building and services provided by Xenias Students. The corridors are extremely dirty and there are barely any people on sight during the day which makes us the residents feel unsafe. The front doors are often left open at night which further adds to the residents insecurity. Furthermore, I have had parcels stolen from my doorstep and the staff at the reception play Candy Crush instead of attending to their responsibilities. They are also unprofessional when handling house issues, especially for those of us who are renting through a private landlord. They have told me that it's not their job to address our concerns and that we should contact our landlord instead. I got a private contractor to come over who suspects that the pipe isolation between the boiler room and my room had not been done to a good standard (Xenias issue to fix). This is a reflection of the fact that every time it gets colder it seems that I have no hot water in my apartment. In addition to this, I experienced a major inconvenience when I had no hot water and heating during the recent cold spell. Despite notifying the staff about the issue, they did not bother to leave their seats and help me because it was not their work obligation. There is no moral obligation from the staff. I have contacted the head office several times, leaving several messages and several emails. "We'll pass on your message to the building manager", and yet until this day I'm still waiting for a reply. Moreover, the constant alarm alerts have caused us the residents an enormous unnecessary headache and I am alarmed that no one is usually on sight when they go off. The fire brigade is often called to turn off the alarms and yesterday, the alarm was on for over 4 hours, causing much distress to everyone. Despite numerous attempts by the residents and the fire brigade to get in contact with Xenia, we all failed miserably. I encourage everyone to do their due diligence before renting a room with Xenia.

Very decent place to live if you want to live close to the center, Strathclyde and Glasgow college.The people working there are nice and easy to contact:) The room( at least the one I have) is a nice size and the furniture that came with it is in good condition( used but still very much okay). The fire alarms go of a few times every month, but with a hundred people living in the building, that’s bound to happen.

All in all a very good place for students,At the heart of the city , everything is close by.Rooms are great all equipments work fine,had read lot of negative review before arriving here ,so was a bit concerned. But surprisingly everything was great ,Do not see any reason to not recommend to Friends coming here apart from lot of false fire alarms. But we'll that's not in the control of staff there.

I am a student at the University of Glasgow and I had reservation staying in the city center due to the associated commute. However, it has been fantastic! The Central house by Xenia Letting us at the heart of everything. Close to all amenities e.g., grocery stores, gyms, and public transport. My overall experience thus far has been great. I only have two complaints. 1) many tenants smoke indoors and it smells quite a bit. I was hesitant to bring my friends and family over for a visit because of it. However, Xenia has been taking action against it and the issue has been improved noticeably. 2) Some tenants are not respecting the cleanliness of shared spaces (e.g., throw garbage in the corridors, the elevators, etc.). However, the cleaning crew of the facilities do their best to keep up, and they are always friendly and eager to help. All in all I would highly recommend Central house by Xenia Lettings. Despite the issues mentioned above, It’s been great so far and I will surely keep staying here for the rest of my degree.
