From our first visit until we move into our new home Strata have been absolutely amazing! Truly faultless. We started our house hunting back in July and took a look around the show homes Strata had, each one was breath taking. Well designed, spacious and exactly what me and my family was looking for. Tara (our Customer Experience Manager) was in a class of her own, she was amazing from start to finish so friendly and helpful she made the whole experience that little bit more special. As our plot had yet to be built we have the opportunity to design the inside of our home in great detail, everything from fitted wardrobes to cupboard handles, lighting, tiles, carpets the list goes on....we loved the level of personalisation Stara give you. Once we moved in the customer care continued, Ryan (Site Manager) was now our point of contact should we need anything, he's outstanding! Cannot do enough to ensure you settle after the move. All in all ive been blown away with Strata and their staff i cannot recommend them enough. The biggest thanks to Stata, Tara and Ryan for making our house a home. Should I move again ill know where ill be looking first.Ant & Family

My Strata Story...

Where to begin....Firstly, do not buy a house by Strata near their year end (June). It was the most stressful time of our lives with threats from Strata that they would pull out of the deal, remove incentives and even offered to pay us to move in when the house wasn’t ready and said we could use another garage to store our possessions in! We were hounded whilst on our holiday with these threats from their legal team and I even turned a weeks work down so we could move in the week after they were insisting and we were told we couldn’t move in for another month!This is all because our solicitor didn’t have the necessary paperwork to proceed with the exchange so what could we have actually done?Even when arguing over an outside tap being fitted we were told the build was too far on. Then we were told it would cost us, then we were told we couldn’t have one fitted as it was on the back of the house but we could possibly run a pipe down the side of the house. I’m sure pipes freeze in cold conditions? We then saw an advert for the house and it had an outside tap included, so when this was pointed out one was fitted, FoC, Woohoo!There are snags, which we expected due to it being a new house, but getting them fixed is like pulling teeth. I think ‘Customer care’ only turn the phone on every couple of months as we’ve not had a reply yet!The sitting room in our Vienna home is freezing. It’s so cold we have to sit with blankets around us but nothing is being done to help. The modem was fitted in the front storage cupboard, so if we want to make a call on the house phone we have to stand in the cupboard. Great idea, eh!? Met with shrugged shoulders when complained about. There was even no power in the garage and the door isn’t attached firmly so how does it get signed off for us to move in to?There are many more issues but if you’ve got this far you get the idea. Apart from that it’s great!A Strata quote;“Strata is a modern family business with a fresh approach to home building. We have just recently moved into our Catania home at the ambition site in Leeds, we are first time buyers. From the very first moment we stepped into the Catania show home we fell in love and knew this was our dream home. Kathryn and Danielle in the sales office have been absolutely amazing, helping us with everything from start to finish. The whole reservation and buying process was made so simple and a really pleasant experience, Kathryn and Danielle were fantastic with helping us make our choices and gave us advice which was really helpful. Our house was completed on time and we are the first ones to move in on our cul de sac. There is still some construction work going on around us but the site managers Craig and Simon have been fantastic , very helpful and very friendly and are always checking if everything is okay. We couldn’t be more happy with our home and are so glad that we chose strata!

She always made me feel as though I was her only customer even though she was always busy, always professional, informative and an amazing support. Penny has kept me up to date every step of the way and as a lone purchaser given me such useful help and advice. I run a national sales team and if my staff were even half as brilliant as Penny then I would be over the moon! Moved into our new home at ambience 6…

Moved into our new home at ambience 6 weeks ago. From the begging Charlotte sales team couldn’t do enough for you very helpfull. Very pleased with the house few minor snags but these being resolved very quickly to fit around you, only a couple left to resolve. Tom site manager very helpfull and the workmen lovely. The only thing I would probably do again would be to get my own solicitor rather than stratas as I prefer to speak face to face rather than email or phone, and maybe the house could of been pointed up a bit better untidy cement on brickwork, So all in all great experience so far!

March 2018 saw my girlfriend and I take an interest in a development of new houses being built just round the corner from where we previously lived. Less then a year later we are both now in our newly built Paris home and we couldn’t be happier. The journey from then to now as been long but enjoyable one meeting all the staff that as helped us along the way including Esna Lee who as been with us every step of the way and as been fantastic in every way possible and made eveyrhing seem so simple and made our choice of buying an easy one. Strata homes are built to the highest quality and upon visiting many show homes around Yorkshire we were both very impressed with what we saw. Now fully living in our new home we are settled and happy with everything that as been done and continues to be done to make this experience an unforgettable one.

Ambition Leeds

We have reserved a home at Ambition in Leeds which is due for completion in March and cannot rave about Kathryn and Danielle enough. They have been so friendly, welcoming and gracious throughout the process so far. Having spent much time trawling across Yorkshire to many developments and experiencing many sales teams I can honestly say that the team at ambition are the most customer focussed. Nothing is too much trouble and they go over and above to assist you in any way that they can. Obviously, our journey is far from over but I have high hopes.

Our advice to others is to read through…

Our advice to others is to read through all of the reviews and then decide. Please note the majority of the good reviews refer to the buying experience which is excellent, there is no doubt of that. Read the bad reviews which primarily refer to the experience after purchasing a Strata home. Our experience whilst buying was also 5 star. Our experience once in the property is poor. The build standard both outside and inside is poor. After care is poor unless you persist and suggest referring the problems to a higher authority or threaten to let the media know how bad the Strata experience really is. The company is getting too big and sadly too greedy. Big issues are not put right. So when deciding whether to buy a Strata home think do you want a great sales experience or a great sales experience and a great aftercare experience. We’ve done our research the comments made by unsatisfied customers are very real indeed.

I've just moved in to a Roses at Temptation, Burton-on-Trent. From the minute I've walked in to the show home me and my two daughters instantly fell in love with the house. We've had a good look round at different houses in the area but nothing compared, so we've ended up buying it! Me and my daughters loved working with Zoe who's a part of the sales team, she really helped us out and went the extra mile to make sure we are happy with the house, and made us feel very welcome. We have just moved into a Madrid at Temptation, Burton-on-Trent. We originally went round a few show homes in our area looking for decorating ideas but really loved the layout and quality of the Strata development so much we ended up buying one! We went with assisted sale to begin with which was really easy and then we were worried about losing our plot so went with part exchange -both of these were hassle free and when you took into account our new home came with fitted carpets/flooring and fitted kitchen appliances we felt we got a competitive price for our old home.The Strata sales team were very friendly, helpful without being pushy. They never got tired of us keep dropping in wanting to look at the house.We moved in on 20th December and were given a full tour of the house and how everything works. Our previous home was a new build and we had a massive list of things that needed doing but our new Strata home is fantastic. We are very impressed with the quality of the joinery, kitchen layout, flooring, bathroom fitting. It is just a really good over all quality.I can't comment on the after sale care yet as we haven't had to use it, which is the only reason I have give 4/5 rather than 5/5.

My Strata Definition Experience

Brought a house from Strata and two things really stood out. First - the sales rep [Tara] was so helpful, polite and professional I was really happy with the service and support as a first-time buyer.Second - as it's my first house and I'm rubbish at DIY and all that stuff, I paid £400 to 'New Home Inspection' for a snagging inspector to come round and check the place out. He actually told me it was the best Strata home he's been in his 15 years! He said it was actually pretty good and he was impressed.That's a testament to the site manager [Ryan] who has gone above and beyond in every aspect to make me feel at home and also has helped with several snags [including building me a ramp for the drive because my cars too low - LOL] He's a top guy and I couldn't recommend Strata [Definition] enough.Very happy customer here and I would recommend them to any of y friends and family.

Can’t even repair the streetlight!

I have first contacted them at the middle of October 2018 asking if they could sort our streetlights as none were working! I have a little girl and it is very dangerous now is dark so early! I had then been advised that council should do that. Got in touch with council and the site hadn’t been passed over to them so it is up to Strata to fix it. Since then the light is still not working!!!! And there is no contact with Strata since 17.12.18!!!!! The amount of emails I had sent and phone calls I made is unacceptable and no one takes any responsibility and is not interested!!! Absolute disgrace and irresponsibility!!!!

After being in the house in balby…

After being in the house in balby Doncaster dominion site since febuary18, we have had over 30 issues, bought a stock plot which as we found out was not signed off and day after moving in had major leaks on all plumbed appliances, had water pipe over socket, had no insulation on ensuite pipes, had not enough legs on shower base, not sealed, had to have pTio doors replaced had been fitted bDly and had over 17 dril holes in, fitted wrong style doors, then room carpet too small, did get carpet money back, just had a badly fitted front door replaced after waiting 6 months, and it was warped, had kitchen door cupboards changed had 8 chipped, new worktops due to stevie wonder fitted, every week on phone for something had house acid washed, rendered in parts again and nails sticking out of garden fence, patio re laid sunk garden, windows mended, glossing not right, we ended up buying the worst house on the estate, this week have been told my boundary line will not be put right and have tried to fob me off saying boundary is OK, I now have to take legal action, I've had many staff members out to look at the house, I am still perusing to get to speak to the director, as many other things I have not mentioned, need to be addressed, I would say never again they have never been a 5 star builder,

Tarmac needs repairing!

After only a few months of giving strata a 5* review this has now changed. After giving everything to the site we’re on, and now we feel like after all we’ve done we’re nothing now they have our money. Our drive has a big hole in, which I nearly tripped over with our newborn baby, and has tyre marks where my car sunk in it, and you still won’t redo it! Although you’ve redone a few on the estate. We paid for a external company to check our drive who said it needs to be replaced as wasn’t laid down correctly and still you won’t sort it.

Definition by Strata. Everyone at Definition by Strata has been amazing. Tara and Ryan have both repeatedly gone above and beyond to make sure we're happy and that everything is the way we want it. Tara particularly has been fantastic and patient, sorting out any of our issues and being incredibly flexible, even finding tiles that you can't get anymore! Ryan has been just a call away for any issues and has been brilliant at sorting extra little touches! Simon the electrician deserves a mention too for his patience putting together a glass light for us! Would definitely recommend a house at Definition.
