Everything from viewing the property to moving in was simple. Have had a lot of problems with things breaking in the flat but our agent Ben was quick to get it fixed as soon as possible for us and always easy to get a hold of. Would recommend the agency but the flat definitely needs an upgrade or should have been properly checked before we moved in which could have saved all the problems we had.

I would not advise this agency to anyone as they are only interested in ripping you off! We rented a flat through the Glasgow agency branch and had an extremely poor experience. The staff is incompetent and also very rude, a nightmare to deal with. In order to get something fixed in the flat you will need to call them at least 5 times and wait a few weeks to get it fixed (if you are lucky enough it ever gets fixed). They will charge you random amounts every now and then under the excuse it was a "mistake", so be careful and check your account. Last, forget about your deposit at the end of the tenancy. We got a £320 deposit deduction for some dust under the sofa and a 10 years old toaster which needed to be replaced. Extremely disappointing service!

I have to give one star for the frankly dismal treatment I received from Grant Property. I understand that properties in Edinburgh are leased very quickly, and guarantees can not be made, however this does not excuse such poor behaviour. We had arranged a viewing at 3PM, and upon concluding the viewing (myself and two other gentlemen had viewed the property at the same time), I immediately made a phone call wishing to make clear my interest and move forward, only to be informed that a deposit for the property had been accepted some 20 minutes earlier! Why could they not have informed us sooner that the property had been secured by someone else, rather than wasting our time with this farce? Or could they not have held off on progressing further until our viewing had been concluded? I accept that they can not give us preferential treatment, but I feel this way of doing business simply wasted the time of all involved. Furthermore, as they oversee the entire process, I feel it is entirely within Grant Property's power to implement a fairer system, rather than letting us get our hopes up, only to find that the very property we were viewing would never be available to us. Suffice to say, in future I will look elsewhere when searching for rental properties in Edinburgh.

I have read through a few of the reviews left for Grant Property and find them to be rather harsh. The agency is not perfect (but who is) and for the slight need of improvement I have given it 4 stars. I found the application process to be rather complicated. There should be set up a document uploader on the website, whereby the documents for each forthcoming tenant that have been uploaded can be checked off , once received and reviewed, and those will required to be sent can clearly be seen. That should also be the case for the money that is initially required to be sent before moving in. My only other quarrel is with flat maintenance. A few things we requested to be fixed have either been fixed to an average standard or fixed temporarily i.e. the repairs have not sustained themselves. Additionally, upon moving in, I did not find the flat to be cleaned to a professional standard. The deeper, darker places of the flat were not worked on and even kitchen appliances and equipment was left in a poor state. To bring some light to this review, however, is the certainty of friendly and polite service. Katie, our property manager, has been more than helpful every step of the way. Samantha and Nicola have also been a great help, particularly in allowing the process of a tenancy change to go as smoothly as possible. Despite the standard of repairs, it cannot entirely be blamed on GP, and when repairs were needed they came swiftly and with no complaint. Every phone call and email conversation has been a treat. Any circumstances where we had to go into the offices was a welcomed visit and a swift one too. Greeted by friendly faces, treated with informal conversation yet business is handled professionally. The process of paying rent is simple and when rent is not paid by the deadline, the agency is very calm and courteous in asking for the rent to be paid. I would fully recommend Grant Property to house hunters, particularly those who are able to keep their new homes clean and tidy, as I've heard claiming deposits can be a bother in some cases. We, however, will be staying on for another year as we feel GP have provided us with a great home and great service. Thanks GP:)

Flat bell was not working at the start of the tenancy and we emailed Ben and they bought and installed a new one free of charge. I was quite paranoid because of the bad reviews on Google maps but it turns out that Grant Property was a very good agency.

We are very happy with Grant Property so far. From the viewing (Marc), the application process (Kim) and the property management (Ben), the team was very helpful, efficient and kind. The application process was very smooth and we got all the necessary informations and answers we needed from Kim. We could arrange the move-in in the way that best suited us. The day we moved-in we got a problem with the heating system. We got in touch with Ben who handled the situation very efficiently: he sent us the maintenance team in the afternoon. As they couldn't fix it, they brought us with a temporary solution. The day after, we got the plumbing contractor who came to fix. We had other maintenance problems which were solved quickly and easily. The communication is really easy which is very appreciable.

I have been renting a property managed by Grant for about a year now and I am extremely pleased with them. Scott, my property manager, is incredibly nice and helpful. AVERAGE..Only left 3 stars as they tried, Catrina, to keep £50 from each of our security deposit for cleaning, even though we spent all day making the place spotless, anywhoo I really wanted to mention the noise from the doors, we used to take out the screws to stop them banging shut but got told off for doing this during an inspection so we just put our coats over the door, they did bang really loudly especially at night and people upstairs did not like this at all, this was about 4-5 years ago for it still to be a problem now is very surprising.
