GoogleMe and my flat mates have recently moved in to quite a fixer-upper flat. It has had many issues wrong with it, like a hole in the roof, dirty floors and damp etc.
However, despite us being told it would be fixed by the time we moved in aug, it was not.
Although we have had many issues with this flat, we have had a lot of help from our property manager Sharon, she has managed to get the issues resolved within a few days or a week. She would check in with us every week with an update and has been overall helpful. I do appreciate what she has done, and even though it wasn’t her fault she did take responsibility and got the issues resolved quickly.
Thank you Sharon

GoogleMy two flatmates and I have been living in the same flat for two years now, and Sharon Murray was beyond helpful. One time, a pigeon fell into the boiler and Sharon was able to organise the removal of the pigeon within half-an-hour. We are very grateful for all her help and her ability to deal with issues quickly.

GoogleRecently moved into a 2-person flat not far off Byres Road and I just wanted to give a shout out to my property manager Shannon.
I couldn't ask for a better property manager, from day one getting the flat keys and letting me know my flatmate and I's rights as tenants to arranging someone to come in to install a lock for our bathroom within less than 24 hours of me enquiring if it was even ok. She always follows up on emails and gets back to us promptly. Super friendly and glad to have her as a point of contact!

GoogleAs a tenant I found myself in a situation where I was locked out the flat. Sharon Murray not only assisted me over the phone, but took time out of her bank holiday weekend to travel to help me with the situation. Many thanks to Sharon and an excellent example of going the extra mile for a tenant.

GoogleHighly recommend it for any students looking for flats! I used to live at a Grant flat and, after almost two years elsewhere, I can without a doubt say that Grant is an ideal agency. Although slightly more expensive, any problems we had were immediately taken care of, whether a broken lock, an ironer that wouldn't work or a boiler that didn't warm the water properly. Within 48 hours, all taken care off. I miss my time at a Grant flat.

Our stay was only 6 months, but move-out was smooth and deposit returned promptly. Thank you Lilian and Tiago!

GoogleThere are only a few good things I can say about grant properties after a year of enduring a tenancy with them. I really would not recommend any student to rent with them. They do get contractors out quickly to assess any faults, and reply to any issues in the flat quickly.
That is all the good I can say for them. Initially when I moved in the flat was in a horrible state and the previous tenant was only charged £30. On departure of our flat we hired a professional cleaning company ( as the one Grant recomended never got back to us) to do an end of tenancy clean. Despite leaving the place very clean we were each charged £75 for “cleaning”. Many items on our end of tenancy report were falsly reported and when emailed about items specifically they were removed but no appology was given for the initial charges. Despite many long emails and phone calls to the Glasgow office I had no reply for 3 weeks regarding my issues with the move out report. Finally after a month received a reply saying it was out of their hands. I think this is unacceptable as they had not read or replied to any of my emails and still charged us for “cleaning”. I am outraged by the process and will never recommend anyone to let from them due to my awful experiences.

GoogleWe were really desperate for a flat since we were leaving soon and they really did put in a lot of effort into finding us a good student flat. We are all very happy with the property we got and with Grant Properties since they were always at our disposal to answer the many questions we had since this was our first time renting our own flat. A very special thanks to Sarah Gordon who helped us out tremendously throughout the whole process.

GoogleAVOID RENTING FROM GRANT PROPERTY AT ALL COSTS. I would have rated 0 stars if that was an option. Absolutely horrendous letting agent company that treat students like mugs. I say this for a number of reasons.
1) I rented a property from them and the roof in my bedroom leaked substantially. Their own handbook said urgent leaks would be seen to within 24-48 hours, they left the room stinking of damp and mould for over 3 weeks and suggested I sleep in the living room on a couch for these 3 weeks. I was given a measly £50 compensation from the landlord and a dehumidifier- bear in mind I was still paying £400 per month to have no access to a clean and safe bedroom to sleep in. See photos attached for the extent. Funnily enough they did a quick patch up job once I'd made my intention to leave the property clear.
The property manager appeared incapable of making any decisions or communicating clearly. Likewise, in my opinion Andrew Hutton, Director of Property Management, was very condescending in any communication I had with him and appeared not to care one bit.
2) It took me four emails to finally get a response from the person responsible for returning the deposit to process it. They were quick enough to charge a holding fee (which they conveniently added to the deposit for the property as holding fees are illegal in Scotland), deposit and rent as quick as they could, but returning money was clearly not an urgent enough task for their team.
If you are a student seeking to rent with Grant Property - do not bother. Worst experience with letting agents I have ever had and if you read other reviews they will tell you the same. I moved out my property in October and just had the deposit return processed later than the 30 working day timescale they communicated to me.
Overall, Grant Property are chancers who think a law student does not understand the repairing standard or their tenancy rights - AVOID AT ALL COSTS! My new letting agent is absolutely fantastic in comparison to Grant Property (who I'd label as "cowboys").NegativeResponsiveness, Quality, Professionalism, Value

Daniel, I am sorry to receive your review. We are aware of the unfortunate experience had with water ingress during your tenancy. As you are aware this was due to significant rainfall experienced on that day. My colleague attended your property within 2 hours of you reporting it. The guttering repair required was a communal matter and arranged by a neighbour within the building the same day who was also impacted by the unforeseen and unfortunate incident. Naturally roof repair cannot often be attended to as quickly as we would all prefer. I am sorry you felt my email response to yours within 2 hours of receiving was condescending - this was not my intention and we genuinely did sympathise with your situation. To clarify Grant Property do not charge a holding fee. Once again I am sorry for your experience and sorry to receive your review, given the unforeseen incident that occurred over a year into your tenancy. Best Wishes, Andrew Hutton - Director of Property Management

GoogleI was booked in for a flat viewing in Glasgow (which was online only) only to have it cancelled on me via email 24 minutes before I was meant to view it.
I was suspicious it wasn't going to be good anyway, with online viewing as the only option.

GoogleMy son is a student renting with Sandstone in Glasgow, he has gone without lights, hot water and a shower for weeks, mice running everywhere and no-one gets back to him after numerous emails, phonecalls and messages.
Told them he wouldn't pay rent until things were sorted they but was told by them he would have to but he would get money back now the area manager has said they are not entitled!
Do not rent through this company!!
Desperately trying to get out of a flat that should be condemned!
Totally taking advantage of young people.

GoogleHorrible letting agents, do not use their services. They are money hungry and have zero communication skills. We rented a property from them in Manchester, at first it went great but as soon as we paid the first months rent it all went downhill. From them denying us to get a lock for the back garden, to them taking multiples days to reply to us, half the time not replying at all. Overcharging some of us and then not answering when we call to sort it, not knowing who to email because every time we emailed someone they referred us to other people over and over again, them taking multiples days to even acknowledge our message about the defective boiler, they never came and fixed it we had to figure it out ourselves. The roof leaked into one of the bedrooms and that never got fixed. The property manager never answered any of our messages when we had questions or problems.
At the end of the tenancy it took us three months to get our deposits back, which we didn’t get in full because they tried to add unnecessary charges like deep cleaning already clean carpets and "broken" garden fences that were already like that when we moved in. We just didn’t have enough "proof" to counter their claims.
Overall, not a good company, horrible experience, would definitely stay away!

GoogleHorrible experience!
Sandstone in Nottingham only serves to take costs from landlords and abuses insecure tenants like international students. If there is a problem, the manager and his employees do not want to help find solutions. No communication and no kindness. We are 2 foreign students who arrived in September in poor accommodation. Sandstone does not respond to emails. After a trip to the agency, they said they were going to send someone to manage the waste but ultimately nothing was done. We rented through the University Living website who lied to us by writing to us that the lease could be reduced to 3 months. I'm a novice and I didn't understand English well, so I trusted and signed the lease. Now that we want to give notice of departure, Sandstone only tells us "no, you had to read the lease which is for 1 year". Since then, no response to our requests for help. We cannot contact the owner. I have contacted agencies who do not want to advertise to find replacement tenants because I am not the owner. Sandstone doesn't manage anything at all. They are there just to offer a payment system (which is very good by the way). If I were an owner, I would not entrust them with my accommodation because they do not follow up, they did not come for the inventory of fixtures and clearly they did not follow up on the departure of the previous tenants either. For students: flee! Sandstone is taking advantage of our precarious situation. Now I don't know how to find replacement tenants and I can't afford to stay for a year. We are alone in facing the problems.

GoogleAs a landlord I work with several letting agencies, and find Sandstone to be the most responsive and helpful. For this reason, we appointed them to manage our flat in the west end of Glasgow, just as the renovation was coming to completion. The team in Great Western road have been outstanding, finding tenants before the flat was even advertised. But special mention has to go to Sharon Murray who dealt with various last minute snagging issues for us that we were unable to attend to ourselves. Sharon really went above and beyond to make sure that everything would be perfect for our new tenants. It’s very reassuring to know that our property is in such good hands!

GoogleSandstone delayed our move-in date by 5 weeks. After the 4th week only then did they come forward with 'alternative accommodation' and suggested that would suffice and is 'all they can do' We were left without accommodation for 5 weeks. If you want to be secure and not strung along then please do not use Sandstone or Grant Properties as they're formally known. They do not treat clients with respect. They get your money quick and forget about you.

GoogleWe arranged a few viewings with Grant Property in Glasgow. One of the viewings had to be cancelled (no fault of their own) and we were informed immediately via text and email. Cheryl arrived promptly for our viewings and was approachable, helpful and honest about the properties we viewed.
