Lauren Robinson

Lauren Robinson helped us from start to finish of signing up for our tenancy. She kept us informed whilst the new kitchen was being put in before we could move in and explained every step of that and kept in touch. She was funny and kind when showing us round the property and when we then signed up over the phone. She helped us a lot with all the different things involved.Prior to this I had a tenancy with Places for People for 12 years and in that time they were always very timely in responding to repairs and carrying the repairs out, and I always had excellent customer service. I cannot fault this company's repairs service at all. I have always had repairs done within days of reporting them.Thank you for everything.

My boiler would not come on

My boiler would not come on. I was told at 8pm it would be 24 hours I was a bit concerned as it was cold but went to bed early and at 8am the gas engineer was here soon as they started and fixed it so thank you places for people.Whenever I have had an emergency they say 24 hours but I’ve never waited that long I think they say that because they won’t be longer than that but hope to get there earlier but thank you places for people. Also the workmen that do come are excellent and friendly and know their job.

If I had a dog I wouldn’t even let it…

If I had a dog I wouldn’t even let it live here. Where do you even begin on this shambles of a ‘housing association’. Like MANY other people have said, they don’t give a toss if you’re having problems with your neighbours regarding ASB. Fill out a two week diary and never to be looked into again. It doesn’t matter to them that I’ve already had the council look into last year, surely as the LANDLORD you should also be looking into these recurring problems. As long as they’re getting your rent money they don’t care about the living hell that you have to endure on a near daily basis. Funny how they make you sign a contract stating that nuisance behaviour won’t be tolerated but they don’t live up to their own standards. The whole building itself is another kettle of fish. Paying extortionate service charges and the place is an absolute dump. Embarrassing really. Have enquired THREE times to three different people about a problem I’m having and each time just getting palmed off and told someone would be in contact.

Lettings Negotiator Mandy Stead

What a fantastic experience being allocated our beautiful new home by the lovely Mandy Stead. Hard working, helpful and so friendly yet very professional. We love our new home and the whole process has been great and easy. We've had a couple of small issues with a leaky bathroom sink but it was dealt with within hours of reporting it. This is my second home with places for people and I've never had any problems only positives. I really recommend them and hope whoever is applying for a new home gets to deal with Mandy 😊

Criminal Organisation

I won't go into too many details as I've exhausted myself mentally over the past few years dealing with this but to sum up, Places for people are treacherous scumbags. I am a vulnerable young person and they repeatedly took advantage of me, threatened me and pressured me. I went through all the complaints procedures and at every turn was made out to be a liar and all my issues downplayed. In their welcome pack they outline their own definition of abuse towards vulnerable adults and whilst myself and many people close to me witnessed said abuse the complaints department and pretty much anyone else involved Including the "independent Investigators" could not fathom that what I'd recived was abuse and was instead pleaded to me as "Miscommunication" Typical professional bullies that couldn't give a toss about clients once the money is in payment. "Support workers" or whatever title they give themselves these days are so disconnected from how actual clients live it's impossible for them to help. "Yeah I haven't eaten in a week but please do come round and remind me that I have outstanding council tax whilst telling me all about your lovely holiday to Cancun on your many many annual leaves" Something needs to change within Places for people as I belive they have lost complete focus on what they're here to do in the first place. Support your clients and stop using bloody covid as an excuse for a lazy work ethic.

Clients are just paycheques.

I live in a community flat provided by Places for People/Living+ and not going to lie, the flat is absolutely atrocious. The back garden was covered in glass and rubbish from the workmen, for me to get a complaint from the council for the bin being too full from the rubbish they didn’t bother to clear. The kitchen sink pipes have snapped and there’s now black mould, the repair team just told me to do my dishes and whatnot in the bathroom because it’s not an emergency repair because I still have gas/electric. But when I threaten to take legal action and go to citizens advice, they're sincerely apologetic and start an investigation when it should’ve just been fixed in the first place. Not only that, the breakdown coverage of the flat itself is £144/week. Half of that is literally “time spent with support worker”.We are just paycheques to them, they don’t care about us, the more clients they have, the more money they get. My support worker casually with confidence told me to put a complaint against her in, knowing the complaints department are absolutely useless. There’s one staff member who’s not even classed as a support worker as she only works in the office and she’s done a hell of a lot better of a job than anyone there. They want me to move back into the old communal flats where I’d be paying nearly £300 a week because I’d be in employment and housing benefits don’t cover me. So essentially they want me to quit my job and move back into the place I wanted out of so long. “It’s a sidestep” they said. They honestly don’t know what they’re doing and they need to sort it out because quite frankly the amount of complaints this company receives, I’m surprised it’s even running still because I’m confident enough now there’s enough evidence from people to take legal action and get it shut down or even remodelled to actually help people. Don’t even bother replying with “please contact us” because theres already an investigation into all of this.

Vile disgusting company

Vile disgusting company. My ceiling is about to fall in from a leaky roof. There is mould. The flat was in the condition of a crack house when it was let to my sister. £1000 worth of carpets ruined. They say there roofers cant go on a roof!!!!! roofers that cant work dec-march because its "too slippy" bless them, maybe time to find some competent work men, what kind of roofers dont work dec-march, its prime roof damage time. Woman on the phone told me "our workers health n safety comes first" i asked her "what about my health n safety as a tennent" to which she could only keep replying how her precious roofers cant go on a roof in january. I asked her can i hold rent and get my own roofer as i could get on booked in asap, obviously that was a no

Places for People & Sage are terrible!

The social housing company are far the worst I have ever encountered. They hide behind legal proceedings and their account management company (Places for People). They've allowed tenants to move in that are; domestic abusers, drug abusers, anti-social behaviour advocates, harassers & people that take part in terrorising other tenants (windows being broken & threats made in front of children amongst some of the issues)What makes this worse? They have been arrested, taken to court and they still allow them to live in their houses -they don't care about the people, they only care about the moneyAvoid at all costs!I will be updating this review with my correspondence that I have had with Sage & Places for People to expose the farce that these 2 companies are.

We were really happy with our new home…

We were really happy with our new home until just before Christmas we had a leak through the vent in the kitchen ceiling, nobody could come out to stop the leak until January and by then every where was wet in the ceiling, so wet that the ceiling in the living room came down above our table and chairs we were lucky not to be sitting there. Hopefully this will be fixed in march. We would love to have hot water in the kitchen by march as well.

Terrible

Yes they are great when you sign up for a tenancy, great communication, helpful and caring or so it seems. As soon as they have you in their property paying rent they really don't care.If you need repairs forget it, they'll keep you waiting for months. I had the extactor fan pack up in the bathroom which is important as I live in a flat and there are no windows or ventilation for steam to escape. Whenever we had a shower there were sparks flying out of the fan. I phoned them in panic many times as I didn't want my kids put in danger but in the end they kept me waiting two months to finally come and fix it. As a result of this the whole bathroom was soaked which rotted the bath, the toilet seat and ruined the paint on the walls. Replacing the bath which broke in half was another ordeal which involved waiting and having to move out for a week as it was so damp in there they had to put in an industrial dehumidifier (causing me a huge energy bill) before they could start what should be less than a days work.I had my fence knocked down by a car, exposing my garden to the whole neighbourhood and they kept me waiting nearly a year to come and fix that. The boiler is over 30 years old and keeps packing up but they won't replace that either.I have damp and mould everywhere but every time I complain they insult me by sending me emails on how to avoid condensation. I know the difference between the two and had somebody independently to come and inspect and he agreed it was damp and mould. He sent them a letter but as you would expect nothing back from them. They are fantastic with communication if you fall a week behind with your rent though. They don't care about your circumstances, why you've fallen behind when you've always paid it on time in full before. They threaten you that you have to pay and won't give you time until your payment arrives to pay them. These are just some of my examples of how little they care about living conditions once you are in their property. I have many more but that would be a book.
