Vulnerable MS tenant left with smashed window. Still have not been able to make contact

I am extremely disappointed with the lack of support we are receiving. My father-in-law lives in one of your properties in Sovereign Court, Beeston, Nottingham, and suffers from MS, so he is very vulnerable and has limited mobility. His window has been completely smashed, apparently by a large stone, leaving his home unsafe and insecure. We have been trying to contact you for two days and have still not been able to get any meaningful help. What makes this even worse is your phone system suggesting we call back in a few weeks, despite this clearly being an emergency. That is completely unacceptable. No vulnerable tenant should be left in this situation without urgent support.

There isn't enough space to say all my…

There isn't enough space to say all my issues. Made me suicidal living in disrepair for so long. Refusing to fix issues which is for them to do. Everyone just lies. They've even committed fraud lying to their insurance company for a claim. Taking them to court too, again lying to the court. All they care about is money. 1 of the main CEO'S doesn't give a damn either. Yet the 600k a year he gets is basically out of the rent we pay. The ones who suffer with their bs. Initial agents care the rest dont. As a disabled person they seem to think putting light switches in different rooms and over 2ft away is acceptable. They take ages to respond to anything. Yet 1 week payment of rent not paid they soon message. Paul nailer/naylor. Patronising prick where ive had to make formal complaints. Thinks he's a big man speaking to people like shit. No one will tell me how to proceed, so looks like I'll be ringing the police. They've messed with the wrong person. I wont stop or give up. I'll take them for every penny I can. They think it's acceptable to leave people without heat through winter or expect them to use blow heaters yet not pay the immense bill. Blamed me for 13 years for mould. 4 years later and still mould. Wallpaper is coming off with plaster and if I strip it it'll bring the plaster board off. Which is a structural issue. Again absolute arse holes. Money is all they care about. 17 years+ now of bs. Court is the only way and taking money from them. Hit them where it hurts. My sister could easily be taking them to court for my death. So screw the small claims court, I'll take it further. Plus the fraud. Others got money. Refusing me and the lies they said. Mouldy bed and mattress they wont accept responsibility for. Mould ruining decorating. On top now the renovation works have completely destroyed my home. They're refusing to strip walls and replaster it. Which is what needs to be done. So I'll be making a higher claim for that. Sick to death of arguing with the morons and them thinking we're all stupid and wont carry on out complaints. I'll me telling the MP again, the CEO again, the papers if I have to. Committing fraud is illegal, but places for people are obviously stupid and either dont see that or doesn't care. I moved in July 1st 2009. Mould appeared in August. 17+ years!!!

Applied for managed move in December…

Applied for managed move in December 2025. I had OT assessment done as I stay on the top floor which is a 4 storey property with no lift. I struggle with pain and discomfort daily due to fibromalgia, costochondritis and a collapsed disc in back. OT assessed that I should be allocated a property no higher then 2 storeys to allow me to move and live life more independently. As currently I can't carry shopping up as the 4 flights of stairs with the Extra weight on my body really puts me in alot of discomfort and pain by the time I get to the top. However the OT report did say that a 2 storey building might need a stair lift in far future in 30/40 years which would make me 70/80 yrs old.

A company that does not care about…

A company that does not care about their tennants,it takes months to get a confirmation for repair and then they just don't bother to show up. I have to confirm I will be at the address but neither them or their contractors give any notice or explanation why THEY have not had the common decency to attend. Been waiting 8 months to have a cracked window repaired that was caused by thermal shock, multiple no shows for scheduled appointments. I work 36 plus hours a week to pay my rent, as does my partner so time is precious to us. Each missed appointment is waste of time and wages, yet they are quick to get in touch even when it is them who made a mistake regarding our rent payments. We were told our defect period was one year but that is continually changing and being used as an obvious excuse to not get repairs done. SA-1410758 this is the latest repair reference that has been closed for the second time without being fixed for them to try and buy even more time, as if eight months is not already disgusting. Following the reply from Places for People below I followed their advice, the window has now broken and large pane of glass is sitting freely in the window ready to fall out but they do not seem this an emergency in any way and have just cancelled my appointment for the upcoming repair for the 25th September to the end of October. If this repair was fixed when it was reported in December last year it would not have reached this breaking point.

Amazon key fitted 'illegally'

PfP Scotland took it upon themselves to allow an Amazon Key to be fitted to our door entry system...despite them only owning 3 out of 16 flats within the block. No consultation with other owners within the stair...2 workmen just rocked up one day and when asked what they were doing we were told 'fitting Amazon key on behalf of PfPS'. Numerous owners have contacted them demanding for it to be removed. Some people haven't even had response to their emails, and others have been told it will be removed asap. Nearly 3weeks later it is still on our door.

Disappointed is an understatement

Absolutely appalled by the way we have been treated over the last 2 years in our shared ownership home. We have had to chase several times to get any answers and being made to feel like a complete idiots by the way staff have spoken to us (we still have not been contacted about yearly inspection and how we can access the repair fund - we had to pay out of pocket for repairs because it took a month for someone to even acknowledge my email). We have had landscapers coming to our front garden and pulling our plans just because they were told from Places for People they can (no contact or apology either). And to top it all we now have over £400 bill for insurance deficit just casually send to us with little to no explanation. They are unable to provide us with a copy of the policy, but we have to trust that they are charging us correctly. For this year we already had an increase in insurance costs of over 120%, I am terrified of thinking what is coming. If you have the option stay as far away as possible.

If I could give them a minus 1 million…

If I could give them a minus 1 million I would they are not concerned for their tenants all they are concerned about is the rent being paid. They don't worry about repairs or damp they certainly don't care about their properties their repair system is a absolute joke you report it it takes someone 5 weeks to turn up then the go oooooh I can't do that now take photos and then say we will be back like they are arnie but it takes them another 5 weeks they certainly don't like paying for things to be done ive been waiting nearly a year for a roof repair ffs its an absolute joke of a company greed comes to mind. I've already been in touch with your hub and to be honest the lady sorted out a couple of things but the roofing is still waiting to be sorted which by October will be a year , so there's no point in getting back in touch what placesforpeople should do is have a repair hub in and around the surrounding Hunstanton kings lynn areas not a hub where the rear people have to travel 2 hours and then turn up take photos then wait another 5 to 12 weeks to get someone else to either take more photos or do the job

AVOID at ALL COSTS

AVOID at ALL COSTS! I have been waiting over 3 weeks for Places for People to simply open the utilities cupboard so that British Gas engineers can check the meter readings. I am in contact with Bhavini, Amy and Jacqueline who have admitted that they don't know where the keys and have offered no solution. This is amidst on-going investigations for the Housing Ombudsman and a First-Tier Tribual case against them for mismanagement. You can't make this kind of incompetance up. Their management fees also just continue to rise and rise.

I didn't think that PfP could get any lower

Places for People are a disgusting organisation. I didn't think that they could get much lower, but they plumbed the lowest depths recently when someone whom I know suffered the loss of his Mother with whom he shared the property. Just TWO days after she died, PfP contacted him to say he had to find somewhere else to live as they claimed he couldn't afford the rent. This situation which was nothing short of bullying a tenant who was grieving for the loss of his mum continued for several months before he was able to sort out the tenancy.

Poor aftercare from this company, both in the apartment I purchased and the development itself. Below is a list of just a FEW of issues I have had since moving into the development: 1. Poor ventilation in the bathroom leading to dampness developing- this has been raised consistently since moving into the apartment- a variety of sub contractors have attended and failed to address the problem, they do not communicate with each other or the customer 2. Poor drainage in the shower leading to a constant pool of water forming- this has been seen by two tradespeople on two separate days and it is still an issue with no date for resolution 3. Security concerns for access into the building - two doors and a system not fit for purpose since it was installed - confirmed by community police officers who attended after multiple break ins - this assessment from the police was accepted by places for people- but they refuse to pay for it to be rectified and instead allow the factors to continuously fix it and bill the residents. They claim that there was a forced entry to the building which excuses them from paying for it to be addressed- but they have no evidence to support a break in- they cite only shoe marks on the external doors. 4. Gate is it not accessible to residents to enter from their own street address or to allow anyone to buzz in 5. Factors company - RMG- implemented (which we have to keep for 5 years after the development is completely sold) by Places for People, CLEARLY have some sort of conflict of interest based on their consistent defence of Places for People and failure to act in the best interests of residents 6. Multiple no-shows from sub-contractors of Places for People, resulting in multiple lost days of work The sales team e.g Carmela were exceptionally good during the purchase but the aftercare has been dismal. Places for People- please do not respond to this review by requesting that I call or email to discuss my concerns - as I have already explicitly stated these concerns through various communications channels you have, and it is abundantly clear you do not take any complaints from residents seriously. I have a cracked pipe so when we use the bath the water comes out of the crack and leaves big puddles of water in my garden! I emailed a complaint as was told 5 weeks waiting time for repair, they were meant to come out yesterday,it messed up my work pattern. I was then rang at 3.20pm to be told the workman had to extend his job so need to reschedule. This has happened before with a different repair which again I had to do a complaint and the job was cancelled 5 times which caused me loss of pay as had to take some of the days off unpaid. They have increased our rent but repairs aren't getting done in adequate time,I suffer with anxiety and this has been made worse by the stress. They are quick to take our money but not quick to deal with repairs which are their responsibility. It is very frustrating and disappointing,I did email my local mp regarding the repair before this current one as complaining doesn't really amount to much from this company. Do better

Unprofessional

Very disappointing experience. Places for People expects its leaseholders to comply with their lease obligations and policies, yet despite repeated reports, evidence and ongoing breaches by their customers, we have seen little effective intervention. As neighbouring freehold owners, we have been left to deal with repeated trespass, parking issues, verbal abuse and property damage with minimal support. Communication has been poor, complaints have gone unanswered, and the issues have continued.

Avoid at all costs

Been in a property for 10 years, always had a mold issue which they keep putting down to condensation. We had a independent surveyor here who told us he came to the propperty 12 years prior to when he came to us for the same issue and showed us photos of the mold then all in the same places. PfP refuse to accept the issue. Our windows are falling apart they declined to replace them saying if we give you new windows everyone would want some. They have others repairs they accept that needs doing but they say 5 weeks when that time comes they say there was a problem and another 5 week repeatedly. I know finding a home in these times is hard with them not being advertised to the public PFP being one of them but I would stay away at all costs there is so much more than I have described here and not just with us on this street aswell.

Absolute terrible company to deal with. Nearly everyone on the estate has had issues with the terrible quality windows/patio doors they installed . My patio doors are leaking causing the skirting board to be damp and paint falling off. My bedroom window is entirely covered with condensation between the glass panels. I have contacted Places for people only to be told it’s my problem and nothing to do with them even though many people on the estate have have had their issues sorted although I have been told it was a very stressful process and took months of escalating complaints to get anything done.

Lying, denial and gaslighting.

Two weeks ago PFP repaired my fence, no problems but a cheap and effective repair. Subsequently the post at the othe end of the fence broke, This time however PFP tell me that they will not repair it as they have changed tenants responsibilites. When? No-one consulted with me or told me that PFP were preparing to shirk their responsibilities? They suggest I contact a charity or consult checkatrade rather than do what I pay handsomely for, namely be a landlord. Very dissapointing.

4th failure to attend repair

Today Fri 1st May 26 I am sitting waiting on hold to speak to a person in the repairs dept. This is the 4th failed attempt to come and replace 2 blown windows. Originally reported a year ago. They came July to measure up but since November they have cancelled on the day of the appointment 4 times. The last 2 failures were promised that i would definitely not be cancelled again!. Pure words to fob off. I was told to stop shouting last time i called after getting a text and email at 12.25 saying operative would be with me shortly, when at 2.30pm realising no one was coming. The person told me the work was out of his skillset, but the manager, when they called later said the operative walked off the job. I would have appreciated honesty at the very least. I have an 'AT RISK' job raised for my garden but still waiting since March for a surveyor to attend as a matter of urgency. This is how all repairs are treated, with 2 plus attempts to attend at the agreed time. The only person who comes as agreed is the nice gas man. Shame others in the department aren't so punctual. If they turn up today I will eat my hat. I must have known they werent coming as I havent moved any furniture or taken down blinds and curtains. I m 69 and moving all these things isnt easy. Shocking service.

Such a very strange and secretive process

Such a very strange and secretive company to try to fathom. They bought up around 40 council house bungalows in Wiltshire, and many of us locals flocked to their website. Only to find that they allocated all of these bungalows to a different company called Seaside and Country Homes. Other locals and myself, especially including a very close but ailing 60 year old friend of mine, given the run around, as Seaside and Country Homes then absolutely insist that applications can ONLY be from residents in London, who are on the council waiting list in London. so 40 of our very suitable bungalows for people with mobility and other problems have been effectively taken away, and given to residents from London. Something does not sit right with this whole set up. Their false advertising (on their vans and other places) of FIRST COME FIRST SERVED, is nonsense, and other comments they make such as "no fuss, no deposit, low rentals, no interviews etc. lead locals to believe all they needed to do was to call Places for People, only to be left on hold for hour after hour and then finally told that these properties will ONLY go to Londoners.
