Could not recommend Places for People any less. I moved in two years ago, noted some water damage as soon as I moved and reported it. After a month nothing, came home one day, fly infestation, larvae behind all my skirting boards and mould coming from the wall. Eventually got someone out and it was a cold water leak from one of the pipes. So clearly do not survey properly. Home will a building site for quite a while. From speaking to my neighbours I got off quite lucky. Do not buy property from them. Black dots in the. Photos below are fly larvae

Poor aftercare from this company, both in the apartment I purchased and the development itself. Below is a list of just a FEW of issues I have had since moving into the development: 1. Poor ventilation in the bathroom leading to dampness developing- this has been raised consistently since moving into the apartment- a variety of sub contractors have attended and failed to address the problem, they do not communicate with each other or the customer 2. Poor drainage in the shower leading to a constant pool of water forming- this has been seen by two tradespeople on two separate days and it is still an issue with no date for resolution 3. Security concerns for access into the building - two doors and a system not fit for purpose since it was installed - confirmed by community police officers who attended after multiple break ins - this assessment from the police was accepted by places for people- but they refuse to pay for it to be rectified and instead allow the factors to continuously fix it and bill the residents. They claim that there was a forced entry to the building which excuses them from paying for it to be addressed- but they have no evidence to support a break in- they cite only shoe marks on the external doors. 4. Gate is it not accessible to residents to enter from their own street address or to allow anyone to buzz in 5. Factors company - RMG- implemented (which we have to keep for 5 years after the development is completely sold) by Places for People, CLEARLY have some sort of conflict of interest based on their consistent defence of Places for People and failure to act in the best interests of residents 6. Multiple no-shows from sub-contractors of Places for People, resulting in multiple lost days of work The sales team e.g Carmela were exceptionally good during the purchase but the aftercare has been dismal. Places for People- please do not respond to this review by requesting that I call or email to discuss my concerns - as I have already explicitly stated these concerns through various communications channels you have, and it is abundantly clear you do not take any complaints from residents seriously. Extremely disappointed in the aftercare from places of people after purchasing our new home. We are not able to operate our gate using the intercom which goes against what it is designed to do. The gate does not meet fire safety regulations and we were not given a key for this which means that we are only able to exit our main entrance onto our street and not able to re-enter at our main address. The customer care team make out that they are doing everything they can but in reality just blame the factors which are actually the same company. Conor and Carmela in the sales team were fantastic during the purchase but we are extremely disappointed with the aftercare.

Currently trying to understand what feels like being ripped off for communal heating and water (vs equivalent residential rates), taken the issue to local MP, Tracy Gilbert, held meeting to discuss (unfortunately Places for People declined the invite). Very opaque pricing structure.
Hello Daniel Thanks for bringing this issue to our attention, and we’re sorry to hear you’ve had a negative experience with Places for People. We recognise that you’ve possibly bought this issue to our attention through other avenues, but if you could please email us at customerfocusteam@placesforpeople.co.uk with details of your problem, your full name and postal address, our team would be happy to investigate it further, Thanks, SD

Took keys to my brand new flat today. Couldn’t be more disappointed. Not sure “ new is appropriate” - fixtures and fittings look like recycled material waste from a previous development. After having raised concerns about the quality of finishing multiple times throughout the process I feel full of regret and disappointment. I would avoid this development and I should have trusted my gut.
