Woefully understaffed

Please employ more people for your customer care. Our development of over 100 properties has 1 person dealing with all of our issues.When you do have an issue, you're very lucky to get a reply. I was following up a reported issue for weeks until one day I got a knock on my door from a contractor who was there to sort it. At this point, I hadn't even had a reply to say that my email had been received, let alone confirmed a time for the contractor to visit the property. After all was said and done, and the issue had been sorted, I still never received a reply to any of my emails.It isn't just myself that experiences this either. I've seen my neighbours trying to get through to your customer care, and one even got a reply that basically said to be patient because they're the only person employed to look after our development and that they have too many issues to deal with.All this does is leave your customers with a bitter taste in their mouth when having to deal with you, because it's clearly not just your customers that are suffering as a result of this, it's your own staff as well.Your own website states that Places for People is a company "Where caring, can-do people are always on hand to support customers and colleagues." Come on guys, it's a bit late for April Fools isn't it?I might expect this kind of customer care for a sausage roll I've bought from Greggs, but you're supposed to be providing customer care for purchases that are hundreds of thousands of pounds. It's absolutely unacceptable.Please improve your communication with your customers and make sure that your staff are properly supported.And before you leave me your templated reply of "Please contact us via the Customer Service Centre, or at our email address to discuss the matter further", please actually take some time to read and digest this, and maybe look at solving this issue yourselves. It doesn't take a genius to work out how you can improve on this problem.

I hope they go under like their energy company the residential side of things is such a scuffy operation. Nothing gets done on time my tenancy renewal was over a month late and they couldn't even get my sons dob right! The sooner I move away from this awful operation the better!

Was very happy to be contacted by places for people and offered our new home. The phone conversations were very relaxed and professional and the lady who came to meet us to show us the house was professional, friendly and reassuring. We didn’t get a key to open the electrical box so topping up the meter to decorate was a bit of a puzzle but we’re not going to let it taint a great experience as it should have been left by the previous tennant or the electrician who fitted the new box. Thank you places for people we are very happy.

Would give 0 if I could

We've bought a house in January this year in one of their developments. Overall, a beautifully designed development with great design choices. However, that's where it stops. The build quality is horrendous (I have nightmares thinking about what issues could be hidden behind those walls), we have a list of more than 200 defects (and so do most of our neighbours). It's a shame that there are so many cosmetic problems because every job is rushed to the max. There's no communication between the Aftercare and site teams, no one has a clue what the other one is doing. Site teams are changing more often than I change my underwear. We have a new site manager in every month just to waste our time again by looking at the same defects that their predecessors looked at (but did not take any notes or passed anything onto the relevant teams). If they actually send someone to fix a defect, and this happened less times than I have fingers on one hand, they will either botch the job, fix the job but create another defect meanwhile or come to tell you it's not possible.

0 stars would be more like it.We moved in in April 2020.First the house was delayed by 9 month. Secondly there are a lot of snags. Definitely get a professional snagger. Site managers are changing every other week. Leaky roof. Leaky boiler. We just had it with them. Once you exchanged money you will hear the bare minimum from them. They will send people over to the house, getting your hopes up, just for them to inspect the issue over and over but never do anything about it.

Poor Quality

Quality of the houses, especially the plumbing is very poor. The plumbers use paper washers to ‘secure’ water pipes, where these washers have a life expectancy of 2 years. Their builders leave their rubbish under your bath, behind your kitchen units etc. The pipe system breaks down after 2 years leaving you with tens of thousands damage for which p4p will take no responsibility whatsoever. Avoid

I have been on the council list for about a year now trying to get a property. Until my sister told me about places for people. Went on their website and saw a property placed a bid and got the house. I’m soo happy as I’ve been waiting for such a long time. Now I don’t have the worry of not having a place to call my own. Tom was the guy who I viewed the property with and did the sign up he was so help full and really knew his job well. Overall and absolutely amazing experience.

Absolutely Evil Company

Absolutely Evil Company. They moved in two drugs addicts above my flat that have caused Anti Social Behaviour since they moved in. Turning the property into a drug den for crack cocaine and heroin. The tenant has threatened myself and other tenants. Attacked tenants. Caused noise throughout the night so much so that I have been diagnosed with heart disease from sleep deprivation. My mental health has deteriorated to the point of needing treatment. One tenant moved out in fear of their safety and well being. The drug addicts have been here for over two years now and all Places for People do is lie about moving them out. This company puts money above all else despite peoples safety and health. They are truly evil. Stay away from them at all costs if you value your health and safety.

If you want a decent standard of living…

If you want a decent standard of living don't bother to rent from these people. One or two will go out of their way to help or do your repairs The rest are job worths who only care about filling their time sheet in to get paid. They have no idea how a community should work,don't care about how they treat their tenants and if you've not got children forget any quality of life in your home. The mental health of their tenants counts for nothing. Managers in an office no clue how the real world works,clock off, leaving tenants to deal with situations PFP have created.

Flat transfer

We have recently transferred our tenancy from one flat in ling court to another. The website for Lettings is not really fit for purpose as it indicates that if you have not heard in 5 working days then you have not been successful, it is not possible to speak to anyone and we found it very stressful. However once we got through this and spoke to your Lettings staff it was a different experience all together . Thomas barraclough has worked very hard to assist us going above an beyond to facilitate an early completion despite the pressure that he is obviously under.a very courteous and friendly person who made life as easy as possible for us. In addition the workmen who prepared the flat were fab working flat hour and long hours to get the flat ready for us. I do not have their full names but they were Adam, Phil and Rick. What started out as a very stressful process ended on a high just down to your staff. Thank you
