This company is a nightmare we have…

This company is a nightmare we have been here for over 12 years they use incompetent workmen that can’t even measure properly and use expanding foam in our front porch we have mould in every room it took them 7 years to inform us we we’re living with aspestos in the ceiling I’ve been waiting over a year for a new wall that sways in the wind children can’t use the garden as it’s unsafe we have never had a secure garden, I asked for a new kitchen and bathroom still nothing back apparently every house has a certain amount they can spend but clearly ours doesn’t come into that category all they care about is RENT !!!.

This company is just unbelievable

This company is just unbelievable. I have a neighbour in the flat above who is constantly having parties until the early hours of the morning, it's 1.45 am and there is another party going on with music full blast and laughing, obviously drunk, she did the same last week it seems I am not allowed to sleep. The Housing Officer seems nonchalant and uncaring, she says it's Christmas and people have parties, but it wasn't Christmas in June/July/August etc was it? The Housing Officer also keeps making excuses about upstairs behaviour and tends to feel it's a problem for the police or environmental health, never taking ownership of the problem as always PFP, make excuses and passes the buck. Disgraceful!I also have a neighbour next door who every week has her bins overflowing and all her crap strewn in her driveway, unsecured so when it is windy which it is often her rubbish goes into my garden and driveway, it's an ongoing thing which I have complained about on a couple of occasions, I have sent pictures of broken glass in my walkway, cardboard boxes etc and now they want me to record the event on video. So they expect me to go out with my phone like a wally, when there is another storm or it's another windy day and record next-door rubbish flying in the air? They must feel I should pick up the neighbour's rubbish as they are doing nothing to address it, well I am not Orinoco the Womble from Wimbledon Common! I suggest they come around any day they want and have a look at the bins themselves and see that the rubbish is hardly ever secure, what's more, they are quite welcome to come and clean the mess up, I will provide them with bin liners. I also suggest they come out, especially at the weekend and listen to the parties until 4 am. I am going to raise this as a complaint and no doubt as they stick together it will be another tribunal, done it once before I am quite prepared to do it again. There are a few nice people who are working there who do care and don't come across as power crazy or outwardly rude, but unfortunately, they are the minority.Don't worry I have now escalated it to a Stage 2 complaint. To everyone who comments on here they aren't interested in disabilities whatsoever. I asked for their disability policy and I was advised it was none of my business as it is only shared with their staff. I have submitted psychologist reports on how my housing situation is affecting my MH and they couldn't care less, nor do they care about my physical limitations, I have been awaiting a light switch to see in the dark for over 7 months now. I hurt myself the other day due to no switch and trying to navigate to my bedroom in the dark, but pointless complaining about it as it falls on deaf ears. You complain and it's all about ticking boxes, to the detriment of your health and well-being. Put it right I think not!

Poor service.

Unfortunately we also share so many people’s experiences. We have rotten window and door frames that let the wind through. The house is always cold and draughty. The kitchen units are rotten and don’t fit properly. Needed a new unit under the sink, the workman measured all the units seeing what a state it’s in and P4P only authorised the one unit that is completely different to the rest. Slow to maintain a decent standard of repair and upkeep but quick to drop in snotty letters if anything near the bins waiting to be removed or if you are a couple of days late paying the rent which I have never missed in 17 years.

We moved into our home on August 21st…

We moved into our home on August 21st 2005, then it was called North British Housing. How this company can get away by treating their tenants like crap is beyond me! I have been in touch with my local authority as well as the MP, I’m also getting in touch with watchdog as this cannot go no further! Over 18 years my son and I having been living in this shell of a house! The kitchen is falling apart, the bathroom is falling apart. Their plumber messed up the stop cock tap and left it leaking in my home to the point that it raised all of my laminate flooring up which I only just put down and saved up for! Their reply is for me to claim it off my house insurance! No you thieving criminals, pay what YOU OWE!! Yet their take our rent every month! Places for people my foot! You all are a bunch of con artists cow boys and this will end! You have enough to help everyone that are your tenants! You should be disgusted to see how many bad reviews you receive everyday, but hey you’re no worse than a drug dealer!

I moved into my P4P property a year ago…

I moved into my P4P property a year ago and on the whole I’m very happy with it. There was a 3 month delay in getting the property ready and I did end up making a complaint as they kept moving the goalposts. The housing officers were superb and very organised. I book repairs online and the very pleasant tradesmen turn up on time and do the work properly. My only real complaint is they don’t have a Major Works programme so there is no schedule for windows/roofs/kitchens/bathrooms, etc, to be reviewed and replaced - I have neighbours who in 20 years have not had their kitchen replaced even though it was old when they moved in. My double glazed windows are very old and a bit draughty and the roof looks like it will need replacing soon but they work on doing repairs rather than anticipating future works which is what my previous Council housing landlords did. And that means that it becomes about who shouts the loudest with the quiet ones being overlooked.

They disrespectful, uncaring and liars,no surprise there reviews are the lowest,I am a carer for someone who has had a fire, serious smoke damage, they have painted the flat and in there wisdom have decided that the fire damage carpets are ok to stay, spoke to the people doing it who have said that as long as the carpet remains there will be a smell of smoke, the person I care for is nearly 60,registered disabled, and a vulnerable woman, kept away for six weeks, unable to enter her property ,there is no compassion whatsoever, they have tried to isolate her,and God forbid anyone trys to speak on her behalf, incompetent and uncaring,my advice would be seek legal advice, they are breaking legal rules all the time, disgusting, uncaring and rude, also record all conversations with them, otherwise they will lie and deny

Took keys to my brand new flat today. Couldn’t be more disappointed. Not sure “ new is appropriate” - fixtures and fittings look like recycled material waste from a previous development. After having raised concerns about the quality of finishing multiple times throughout the process I feel full of regret and disappointment. I would avoid this development and I should have trusted my gut.

Why Cant They Fix A Simple Repair ??

I have been unblocking the toilet I rent from places for ppl for the last year but the last 4 months this problem has got worse. I report it .. take time off and wait, Only for them to send a man with a stick and plunger. I was told by one of the guys from places for ppl "Tell places for ppl the drain is blocked" which i did ". Today a man turned up wearing a body camera accusing me of being aggressive, It was quite strange as if pre-planned as all I did was open the door telling him the toilet is filled with "faeces" this argumentive plumber accused me of being aggressive, i closed the door to avoid being lied to and accused further. In my opinion some of these person's from this company 'Places for People' are acting more like a gang rather than a company providing a service. This problem is unresolved and i hope nothing else goes wrong as relying on them is extremely sad.

Places for People's idea of a repair is…

Places for People's idea of a repair is to book a date, fail to show up or call. Arrange another date, perhaps a chippy will show up, empty the bucket of water that's been leaking into your home for weeks, look at the empty bucket and say, 'problem solved'. This is a metaphor and not an actual experience. There's an assumption that all tenants don't work so no repairs unless you take a day off work, or two, or three. The complaints raised always seem to disappear and are never resolved. Terrible organisation with some good people working for them.UPDATE. Thank you for your response, but I've already made official complaints that have been ignored. I've complained through your CEO Greg Reed a couple of times, but, guess what? Yeah, got a complaint reference number but never heard any more.
