Nice friendly team. Unfortunately for us the property we were looking at sold to a first time buyer so we couldn't go very far but the interaction that we had was good

A leak with a difference
Bought our Morris home in 2014.We had more snags and defects that we could care to mention. Sorting them out was an absolute nightmare, nobody in 'customer' care were of any use. One bodged job after another. But we loved the layout, and the area where it was built so we persevered. Fast forward a few years and we decide to do some improvements in the bathrooms. We discovered a leak on the downstairs toilet and when we lifted the flooring. It was heavily soiled. There was a nice collection of sewage behind the base of the toilet. We discovered to our absolute horror that the soil pipe was split, and an attempt had been made to fix it with concrete and silicone. When we contacted Morris they passed us to NHBC. NHBC would not inspect it and we would have to pay for a CCTV survey of the soil pipe and they may still not pay to repair. Morris has been contacted again and point blank refuse to repair as we are out of our 2 year warranty! We are going to fight this as this is not reasonable. We are plot 33 of 32 houses because plot 8 was built too close to a railway embankment and had to be demolished.

Once bitten....
Having bought many new builds over the years buying from Morris has been by far the most unpleasant and stressful experience. We had a high number of snags on our property resulting with every trade coming back in to put things right. This I didn't mind as much. It's the way in which it was handled. Having to chase things constantly, being fobbed off with any excuse for poor workmanship. If it was something minor then generally it wouldn't be much of a problem to get it sorted. It was the more serious snags where something needed replacing that they would try to get out of.After 9 months we decided to move as the house wasn't right for us. Unfortunately, when we started looking there wasn't much on the market. For all the problems we had with our Morris Home we did like the style of houses and the development so we ended up buying another Morris on the same development. It was sort of like "better the devil you know" We went into it with our eyes open knowing what to expect hoping this would make the process a better experience and it was. There wasn't as many snags. They were quicker to respond. It felt like we were buying a house from a completely different builder. However, 14 months on we are back to the service we experienced with our first Morris house. Things they can't fix, excuse after excuse as to why things are the way they are. Being told "you'll never totally get rid of certain problems." Having to chase customer care. They treat their customers like they are stupid in the hope that they will accept their poor excuses. I would warn anybody that is thinking of buying a new home from them to do their homework and maybe talk to people who have already moved in. We have found out recently that the area around our house is not what Morris sold it as. If we had known the full facts we probably wouldn't have bought it. We voiced our concerns to them but it fell on deaf ears. They said we were told everything but we must have forgotten! It's quite odd really because no one on our road or surrounding roads knew about it. Buying a house is the single most expensive thing anyone will buy and to be told this is quite an insult. There is no way we would have forgotten. They didn't tell us and they are acting in a very underhand and dishonest way. Again, they are treating us like we are stupid. It really should have been a case of "once bitten, twice shy." The biggest mistake we ever did was setting foot in their sales office not just once but twice. I love my home. It's perfect for us. I just wish somebody else had built it. The only thing Morris Homes successfully do is disappoint.

Wintringham St Neots Delays delays delays and more delays
If I could put 0 stars then I would!! If you want to buy a house and then be continually pushed back with delays then this is the company to use!! Given a date for new build August last year and still not moved in, just continuous push backs with unreasonable delays given each time!!

Shocking customer service...
While we love our house from Morris Homes, the customer service has been absolutely shocking. When we first moved in it seemed to be fine. One builder was very helpful but since he has left the site it has gone downhill massively. They have been rude, arrogant and incredibly unhelpful. Half the jobs they were meant to do haven't been done and there's 0 communication about it. We're left in limbo most of the time. They only care about you up until they have their money then after that you may as well not exist.

Morris Homes Boughton Grange Reservation
Reserving a property with Morris Homes on the Boughton Grange development was the single worst experience I have ever had with any company.3 words define Morris Homes as a company and their staff:- Rude- Uncaring- UnreasonableThey do not care about how they build their homes.Once they had my reservation deposit they ignored any queries and were overall uncooperative.During my reservation I highlighted numerous issues and damage to the property, which was extensive and even including but not limited to:- Holes in the interior/exterior walls- Dead grass because rubble was left under the turf- Peeling sealant- Badly cut flooring (which I paid extra for)When I highlighted issues with Morris Homes, I found that they will always tell you one thing in person, but then they will not bother to rectify any of their failings. The best I received was someone attempting to bodge damage with touchups and a trigger happy person with a sealant gun. They regularly informed me throughout that Morris Homes has a 2 year warranty so any problems I found would be better sorted once I had moved in. (Read the trustpilot reviews on how effective Morris Homes are in their warranty period). They also did not correctly follow their own site plans and drawings which I signed to when reserving. I recommend taking pictures of every document you sign in the sales office.I wish I had never I embarked on my Morris Homes journey of pure disappointment.

Donβt fall for the perfection of their show homes.
Very different from the show homes that you view, the finish of the painting and decorating is below standard. The kitchen fittings offered and fitted were full of faults, having to be replaced multiple times and still facing many problems with them over a year on. However they are refusing to fix these problems now. The stain free carpets are not as advertised, the flooring is full of bumps due to being sealed incorrectly. Creaking floor boards throughout the upstairs, faulty front door in the heat ( site manager advised to hose it down when the temperature is above 25 degrees π€·π»ββοΈ) multiple leaks in the house due to faulty seals of windows and doors, and roads are yet to be finished 5 years on from first starting the development.I can go on and on, but these are just a few of the problems we are facing as a new build owner.

Donβt touch Morris Homes
Having purchased several new build properties from different builders in the past, I had no reservations about buying another. How wrong I was!Morris homes are a different kettle of fish altogether. We purchased our house almost 2.5 years ago and we are still unable to use the garden. We are still in dispute with Morris homes via the NHBC as our βgardenβ can only be described as a festering swamp resting upon a steep mountainside which also makes the house damp and the neighbours house damp. The builders left so much rubbish under our turf that you could feel it walking across the grass even with your shoes on.The house was just completely botched, their builders smashed exterior window frames with their scaffolding poles and all this time later, Morris homes are trying to fob us off with just painting over the damage. We still donβt have roads, just raised man holes and grids which damage our cars. We have to park 200m away from our driveway so our cars arenβt repeatedly damaged. Not ideal with two young children, one of whom is disabled and a blue badge holder.I could go on and on. Donβt believe the glossy brochures and show homes. The finish is shocking and nothing like you are promised.

Great customer service
A genuinely pleasant experience, from viewing the plots and reserving our house, through to moving in day. Site Manager Richard is very helpful and dealt with the few snags we had within 48-72 hours. Jo on sales, helped me constantly chasing my sale up and on the day Fay was at the house ready for the news that completion had happened. We are loving our new house :-) THANKYOU

Lived here for nearly 3 months and absolutely love it! Professional team to deal with. All snagging was sorted promptly. The finish and build of the property is brilliant. The site manager has been fantastic throughout the whole experience. Highly recommend to anyone looking to move!
