WOULD NEVER BUY FROM THEM AGAIN

Brought a new build house back in 2020. We had no end of problems. Poor finish, Repeated leaks, front door had to be fixed several times and replaced, the front garden sunk and had to be relayed, render on the house cracked, pipes under the sink not connected which caused flooding, leaky boiler in airing cupboard. The list goes on, we’re still finding issues now with the build 4 years on!!!! Then there is the estate it’s self. Morris homes once they finished building just packed up and moved on. They haven’t finished the roads now in 2024 so it’s like driving onto a building site everyday and they have no date on when or if ever they are going to actually do the roads!

Do not buy a morris home

Do not buy a morris home. Initially the house was fine but then Morris refused to finish the roads. There is no explanation as to why and no sign of any progress when myself or anyone on our estate contact Morris.Do not be fooled by the glossy brochures. They do not finish their job.

Horrendous after purchase treatment

Was considering buying in the area, but bought from a different developer. So glad we did as St George's estate has been left looking horrendous with unfinished roads, parks abandoned with exposed plastic matting and Weeding all over. Considering some of the houses cost £500k + it would appear that Morris have abandoned the residents with no care for them.

St George's Fields, Wootton - mis-sold a dream!

Build Quality - after a very positive sales experience it all went downhill from the day we moved in. Very quickly we had a snag list of 100+ issues. Plumbing issues were by far the worst - when we moved in our ensuite toilet was plumbed into the hot water mains and every toilet in our house has had at least one leak, with ceilings, carpets and flooring needing to be replaced. At it's worst we had a leak in our ensuite whereby there was actual sewage seeping up through the floor and it was only when we managed to get the Customer Service Manager out and he had to paddle across our sewage soaked bedroom carpet in bare feet, did Morris attempt to resolve this. Then when the painters came into redecorate our lounge after another leak they managed to splatter paint on our leather sofa, wooden furniture, curtains, walls and floor. For six months we had a steady stream of contractors coming in and out of our home, whereby every fix seemed to bring another list of issues. In the end we simply gave up ...The drainage is still shocking and there is a regular smell of sewage in the bathrooms. Our ensuite gets covered in black mould, despite the extractor working as it should and often being left on throughout the day and despite numerous attempts to treat it. Our shower has been fitted on the wrong wall, so every time to open the shower cubicle to step in the water sprays up the skirting and wall. This week we have yet another leak in one of our toilets.Roads and estate upkeep - we have lived in our house almost 7 years and the development has been here for 10 years, yet still we have no road surface. The road and pavements are in a state of disrepair. The grass areas are left until they are knee-high and as I look out of my window the hedges opposite have not been trimmed at all this year. The children's park is an eyesore and until recently had weeds in there were as tall as me. Between Firstport (the management company) and Morris themselves, it is a constant battle to get even the most basic thing done. It's pretty soul destroying to look out of the window of our home and feel as though we are still living in a building site, with no hope of anything being done to resolve it. As residents we complain and we chase, but nothing ever happens. We paid our hard earned money in good faith and all feel so very let down by the poor customer service and the commitment Morris made to all of us to complete the roads once the last house was built, which was 2 years ago now. Please do not be fooled by the glossy brochures and sales pitch. If you are even considering buying a Morris Home please go a visit a development that has been established for a few years as this will indicate what your home and surroundings will look like once Morris have got your hard earned cash and moved onto the next set of future residents, who just like us believed the dream that never really existed outside of the sales environment.Never EVER again! If I could give zero stars I would.

If you are thinking of buying a house…

If you are thinking of buying a house from Morris Homes then bear in mind the Jeckyl & Hyde factor. You will get treated as if you are a valued customer & friend until the sales process is over.Senior management don’t care at all & you will get different stories cut and pasted into communication which are based on blame everything else but no responsibility taken. If you have a garden, be warned, within 18 months it will need replacing costing you approx £5k. There is no care given to any of the landscaping and they just lay turf on inadequately prepared ground. The guys who work fixing the snags are great though.

👎🏻 Morris Homes

Initial experience was great with the sales team, then it’s been down hill ever since. Many snagging issues… issues that 4 years later we still see the efforts for the poor workmanship. The biggest issue is the roads surrounding the estate. 12 months plus the estate has been completed and the roads are yet to be fully finished. Drains and other iron works stick out and cause damaged wheels and popped tyres. When Moris Homes are pressed they fob everyone off. Would not buy a Morris Home again. 👎🏻

Incredibly poor communication

Incredibly poor communication, quality of build is sub standard and when they have "finished" a site they disappear without completing works! Complete lack of regard or respect for people whom have spent many thousands of pounds on properties based on false promises.

Complete lies on everything sold to us…

Complete lies on everything sold to us 7 years ago when we moved in. Roads still not fixed after 2 yeras of the last house being built, children’s park dangerous and never maintained. None of the estate is maintained. It is embarrassing. And that’s not even mentioning the fact my houses needed over 150 things fixed on the snagging list. 7 years on and still having issues but the customer service is so bad it takes months to get an answer. I would recommend everyone I know to never buy from Morris Home

Morris Homes nothing but incompetence

Morris Homes have shown nothing but negligence and incompetence at St. George's Field. They have irresponsibly abandoned the site, leaving it dangerously incomplete. The exposed roads and raised ironworks are a severe hazard. The playgrounds, neglected and overgrown, are now utterly unsafe for children. Their disregard for community safety and basic standards is appalling.

Woefully incompetent

Woefully incompetent. We've lived in St George's Fields, Wooton since 2020 and have had nothing but fights with Morris homes. No customer service or even common sense from anyone at any level and the continued no response says they just don't care. They're still dragging their heals over finishing our roads! Genuinely hope for a takeover of the company as it needs a complete overhaul.Morris Homes - the residents of Poppyfield Road have had enough! Complete the roadworks as you said you would! Some of our neighbours have taken this to their local MP's they're that pissed off!

ST GEORGES FIELDS. Still unfinished roads 2 years after…

Still unfinished roads 2 years after the last phase was finished.Absolutely shocking builders. House isn’t nowhere near to the finished quality it should have been on a brand new property. We had an open soil pipe in the loft for 3 years, I ended up sorting myself after discovering it and reporting it for nearly 6 months. Our drainage has been broke on our driveway for well over a year and is a trip hazard.Shocking developers, they just take your money and run. DO NOT BUY FROM THESE POOR QUALITY BUILDERS!

Buyers beware!

We purchased a Morris house at the end of 2019 and were pretty pleased with the house. Our development in Northampton was new and the spec of the houses was really good. We were sold a dream, but nearly 5 years later the promises have not been kept! The roads have still not been completed and are in a state of disrepair, the green spaces are only maintained when the residents complain. The estate is looking very tired, beyond its years!Morris are quick to take your money for the new houses, but fail drastically to complete their work which then has a knock on effect to the house prices.Future Morris homes buyers, get the details of development completion in writing.

Awful from Sales to 5 years on.

Morris Homes SalesFirstly they don't actually know what they are selling in relation for upgrades. We were promised a glass gas hob, turned out to be a metal one. PlumbingWe have had 4 leaks in the same bathroom. No cold water in the kitchen. They also forgot to seal the windows so when it rains water comes into the walls and windows causing water damage. Awful experience.DeedsThey also ruined our deeds which we did receive compensation for. They didn't build to the specifications and we had to fight for this to be sortedRoads and Landscaping After 5 years on, the roads are still incomplete and the estate itself is not maintained. Site ManagerThe site manager 'Steve' is abusive. He even rings and messages you on social media. I reported this to head office, turns out he is still our site manager...We bought a 5 bedroom house, and although the village itself is superb, the site itself is not. I would never buy a Morris Homes House again.

Shocking lack of customer care

Driving into St Georges Wootton is like driving into an industrial estate as the unlaid road is shocking, weeds growing all along the kerbs, such poor care from Morris Homes, they turn a quick buck then abandon the paying customer with an unfinished estate. Surely this is a health & safety issue as the roads are literally patched up & uneven. The good reviews seem to be from the early stages of buying & none from the aftercare.

St Georges Fields Northampton, roads still not completed

We moved into a new Morris Homes St Georges Fields Northampton home nine years ago. Overall, the house is satisfactory. However, we noted that the roads "will be completed after the last house completion" on the sales pack. We expected that to happen in reasonable time. But Morris continue to drag their heels with roads and pavements remaining in an appalling condition in some areas, years after the last house was finished.

Atrocious actions from morris homes

(St georges fields in wootton northampton) ... This estate was "completed" not long after we moved onto the estate in 2020, and the roads are STILL incomplete. Residents from the first phase of the estate have had to endure this for much longer than I have, however it's causing multiple issues including damage and ware to car tyres and unsafe walking paths for young children. My daughter was wheelchair bound and the accessibility was so poor we would avoid walking around the estate due to the curbs being so high and even thr drop curbs are crumbled and unsafe. Street signs are broken, communal garden maintenance is poor, the kids play area is unsafe due to poorly laid safety matting leaving huge gaps between the threshold of the matting and the grass, bins are always overflowing and the thistles and weeds are dangerous and unsightly. I know ALOT of the residents of this estate are unhappy about everything mentioned, but the roads are the main concern. People are struggling to sell their homes due to the lack of maintenance of the estate. The prices of these homes are high end but morris homes don't seem to be bothered unless they have money in their back pocket. Their is lack of communication from morris homes customer service team and anyone who emails to ask when the roads are going to be complete just keep getting fobbed off with irrelevant and pointless information and false promises. Sort it out morris homes.
