It is at times difficult to interact with letting agencies, but I have to say that Maria has changed that for me. She has always been highly responsive, efficient and understanding, can’t praise her high enough! Special mention to Jordan as well for arranging visits out of the blue, when all other options seemed lost!

We have just sold our property in Kemptown. Selling a house, no matter when, is always challenging but attempting to find a buyer and then to complete the sale during Covid-19 has been a very harem-scarem process. Thankfully, Josh Pennycot from the Kemptown branch of Mischon Mackay has eased the challenge, been there to mop fevered brows and provided a trusted sounding board for us throughout the process.Josh helped enormously to smooth the selling process - his eminent communication skills, coupled with tact and a friendly demeanour, ensured our property was postively shown to a significant number of potential buyers. Then, once a decision was made on the sale, Josh helped both ourselves and the buyers through a torturous path involving the simultaneous exchange of contracts and completion.So - what could have been a total nightmare was, thanks to the help and professionalism of Josh and his colleagues at Mischon Mackay, a very manageable if not enjoyable process.

We have found the letting staff to be rude, inefficient and lacking in basic skills. We had so many problems moving in with the admin staff forgetting things and causing delays plus an inventory that is seemingly for another flat it's so different, which they refuse to amend. Long wait for any repairs issues. Worst lettings agent I have experienced and would advise people to avoid avoid avoid.

The flat we found through Michon Mackay was beautiful and the move in process was especially smooth. I encountered a few personal problems throughout my 14 month tenancy which they were generally supportive with. The only thing I would recommend for improvement on was the maintenance of the flat, as I requested a couple things to be fixed which never got done. However, I'm not actually sure if this was due to the estate agents or the landlord, to be fair! More transparency with regards to what a break clause was would have been nice as well (not all of us are estate agents). Otherwise satisfied.

We recently bought a flat through Mishon Mackay (Hove branch) and we had a very positive experience dealing with them. We initially dealt with Thomas Gannaway on the sale, and he was very helpful and responsive. The sale was finally closed with the help of a lot of work up and down the chain by Sarah McCarthy. Not only did Sarah have to deal with the problems presented by the Covid19 lock-down, but she also had to deal with a very late price renegotiation request from our buyers, and she did an excellent job.

As a tenant of a property which is managed by Mischon Mackay we recently were in the unfortunate situation during lockdown of the macerator pump stopping working in the kitchen - this is required to pump all kitchen waste water out of the of the house, including the dishwasher and washing machine.I was very pleased to get a quick reply to my email from Jordan, at Mischon Mackay, on a Saturday morning to discuss the problem, and how diligently she worked with plumbers, including speaking to them on the phone in the evening after hours, to try to get the pump repaired asap during this difficult time when people are working with reduced staff and the difficulties of social distancing and lockdown. I am delighted (and relieved) to say the pump has been repaired and the engineers that attended were professional and compliant with all health and safety requirements at this difficult time. Excellent service - thank you!

I had a problem with them as they were trying to get just my guarantor to cover more of the rent (3 times what I was meant to pay) as other guarantors could not afford that. I asked them to correct that, otherwise, I would start taking legal action. They told me that they would sort it out so that my guarantor was only covering my rent and I was told that it would be done in around 2-3 working days. About a week later, I get an email saying that I had two weeks to pay the remainder of my first month's rent. I told them that I would not pay any more until the previously agreed upon arrangements were sorted. So they canceled my contract with them.They are disgusting, unknowledgeable, and conniving. I am now glad that they have canceled my contact as I am now able to take them to court for my money back and they are unable to squeeze me for any more money. They will try to take advantage of you and tell you what you want to hear, but it is all smoke and no fire. When you ask them a question, you get "I don't know" and you better be happy with it otherwise they hang up and avoid you like the plague. The way that they have acted, is immature and unprofessional.

I've been lucky enough to have Jordan Mackay handle the flat I'm currently renting. She's always been very prompt with her replies, honest and kind. She's always answered all of my questions, no matter how silly they were, and has been able to put my mind at ease on many occasions. We live in the USA and were selling my parents house in Brighton. We had only fifteen minutes to meet with Chris P initially when we were deciding whether to put it on. the market or not. We were struck by his professionalism and the feeling that he would do the best job for us that he could. He met all deadlines in sending us things and was both easy to get hold of and responsive. We also had some dealings with Tom who was also very good. In the present Covid-19 chaos, Chris was absolutely superb and did everything he could to ensure that the sale went through. We cannot recommend him and the firm more highly.
